The high ratings for this hotel are highly deceiving. The recent low ratings are much more accurate. The entire hotel is dingy and filthy. We had a reservation for a standard room with 2 queen beds. It took the front desk three times to get the room right.
This hotel should not be allowed to be a Marriott hotel. Many places at the hotel are in disrepair and/or not kept tup.
Il gym
Il materasso buono
La reception di accoglienza al check in parlava un inglese biascicato quasi incomprensibile e non era collaborativa
Easy access and cozy!

Nothing... lost 142 dollars through booking.com as Fairfield Inn overbooked and didn't have a room.
Had ro pay for another hotel near by.
I had made a booking online, upon arrival i gave her my name and told her i had booked a room earlier. she asked for my license, then handed it back and said i could put in my card. She handed me my room key and sent me on. Upon arriving in the room i noticed it was the king room i booked, but i was so tired i was okay with it, went to take a shower and it BARELY worked, tv also didn’t work. before going to bed i checked my card and noticed I was charged for another room, not the one i had booked and paid for. so i paid for 2 rooms. I went to front desk and no one was there, the following morning about 3am i was leaving and was going to try to get the problem fixed and no one was at the desk again. i’ve emailed and have received nothing.

They rob me of my money I didn’t get to stay
Took my money
I stayed here may 7-9th. The review right my review is almost a carbon copy of what I experienced. I did speak to the GM, her name was Kawonna Brown. She cancelled my reservation the day of my stay and told me that she did not have to honor the rate I booked at. She also told me that they were completely sold out and had no rooms available. When I arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later and asked to speak to her I was told she had left for the day. It was 2 pm at this time. The girl at the front desk named Ashyri knew that what the GM was doing was wrong and told me I have a room for but I can’t override the price I don’t have that authority. She did put me in a suite to try and help the matter. Which was kind of her. But I told her 20 minutes ago Kawonna told me there were no rooms available period and now you are putting me in a suite? She said I can’t comment on that sir. The property is dirty the tv didn’t work the breakfast was terrible my toilet made noises nonstop and I was told that pool had been closed for over 2 years. Marriott should be ashamed that their name is on this property. It is not a Marriott quality property. After looking for the company that owned this property I found this…As of April 2026, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marshall in Texas is identified as a property under a receivership sale, indicating it is managed or owned through a court-appointed receiver. That explains a lot!! Thanks for the info Google!! AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!
This is absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had so a review is warranted for others to judge for their stay.
First problem is we booked at room at a Marriott approved rate via the website and when we arrived the from desk attendant, Aaron told us his GM has informed them to not allow any of these rates and to charge full rack cost. This raised our rate by $100/night. He would not allow us to talk to the manager and so we contacted Marriott and opened a ticket to find out why the approved Marriott rate was not honored as the Marriott Customer Service rep could not figure this out either. The GM of this property has 3 days to contact me per Marriott's policy but now two days after and still no contact.
To make things worse our air conditioner in room 209 would not shut off and the thermostat has it at 62 degrees. The door to the bathroom sticks and had to be forced open.
We love Marriott's and their properties and this is the worst we have ever been treated, no contact by the hotels General Manager since, and the room was way under normal for a Marriott property.
We have since stayed at two other Marriott properties and both have honored the rate quoted and everything was perfect, but not in Marshall Texas...
How friendly staff was.
There are no good places to eat near by.
I would have given them a 10 but the breakfast needs to be improved. Aaron the person who checked us in did a fantastic job. Everything we requested he made sure that we received it. His attitude was great. Thank you Aaron.
The breakfast
This hotel needs some maintenance. The drapes and sheers in our room were filthy. The shower curtain smelled like it was mildewed. I did not like the sheets and pillowcases. They were not as white and crisp as I am used to having at Fairfield Inns. The waffle irons are old and the coating is beginning to flake. The waffle dispenser was broken, so they put a pitcher in its place and the mixture was too liquidy. The spout on at least one of the cream pitchers was chipped. A tile in the elevator was broken and a piece was missing.
The people were friendly and the parking was good, perhaps because there were not many people staying when we were there. It is in a good location, next to the interstate and not far from Lake Caddo State Park.
Everything was well put together
I don’t like the fact you call and get the run around
Booking .com charge took my card information but did not set up my room . I had to pay with my card again when I arrived.
Booking charging me twice !
It was convenient to location of the activities I was in town for. Some of the towels were spotty with stains and looked dirty.
I put on brand new white footies to walk in the first night and when I pulled them off the bottom of them was brown—-so that showed us the carpet was filthy. The hallway and entrance on the first floor looked filthy and worn.
If I pay the amount I paid for a hotel I expect it to be worth it and this one definitely wasn’t.
Cleanliness.
The fire alarm going off at 4 am for unknown reasons multiple times and the cold crackpot gravy. Tried to talk to counter person and they acted as if they had no clue about anything..
