The staff make this hotel a gem in the lower East side, so friendly, so helpful and welcoming
The organised driver to bring us to JFK was unhelpful and surly- also cab was not big enough to take our luggage comfortably even though we had preordered this. He left our luggage on the roadside at jfk and wouldn’t even help us lift them onto the kerb with us
Great staff and location. Bed was comfortable
The property is old and tired and dingy- marks and dents and nicks everywhere. Worst part was the weird black bathroom - the walls, bathtub, shower, sink, counters, toilet were black so bathroom was dark and felt like it wasn’t clean. Plus you couldn’t see anything.
Near subway and middle of lower east side
Improvement can be on the outside but inside was great! That’s what matters most.
Great accommodation! I would especially like to highlight Sara, who has such wonderful energy. She gave us a warm welcome and provided us with all the information and guidance we needed throughout our stay.
I had the best stay I’ve ever had in New York! This was my second time staying at The Rivington, and once again, everything was perfect. I was celebrating my birthday, and the team kindly upgraded my room, which made my trip even more special. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, the location is unbeatable, and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting NYC. Highly recommend!

view was great and reception staff were brilliant. Free wine in reception from 5-7 every evening.
The bar was closed. looked lovely but not open?
Location is great
Some of the areas are a bit tired
Another "luxury" hotel by Hilton that is just the pits. Holes in the ceiling, crap on the shower doors and shotty tile & grout work everywhere. I mean you can fluff up the bed and furniture but the reality is it's lipstick on a pig. At over $500/night - what we got was despicable. Now we were moved the next night but not compensated for the price difference. Forget about the 'luxury' continental breakfast, first it doesn't start until 7:30 am. Nice fruit selection, but no cereal or granola. There's typical foodservice yogurt in packaging and bottled juice. Would it kill them to squeeze fresh fruits? This is NOT a Luxury HOTEL by any stretch. The female - manager - on site during our visit was competent and nice. The male staffers are terrible. Thanks Hilton!
Excellent location! Great rooms! The best staff in the city! Chris was outstanding!
Best value for you dollar in NY!
Clean, safe, and right in the middle of everything!
Andy was top tier came from London to the hotel and he dealt with everything quick and easy
If it wasn’t for the view from the room this hotel is sadly lacking in a lot of areas.
Arrival and check in was easy.
The room itself was tired and honestly was just not cared for which you can see in the photos. The bedding was comfortable, but when we returned to our room after a full day out and it was 4:30pm and Gloucester left a sign on the door to say please make up the room, you kind of expect it to be clean waiting for you. It wasn’t and we had to call down and find someone to make it up for us.
The bar area was closed our entire stay, apparently they are short staffed, yes they put out a freebie wine hour. But the bottles were placed out, unopened, no one putting them on ice, so you are drinking warm white wine, and we had to go ask the receptionist to open the bottles.
It’s just lack luster overall.
Location
The bathroom was very outdated and had sticky floors and grout all on the walls
The aesthetic of the place was very pretty.
The first room we booked had blood on the sheets. So they moved our room and the tub to take a bath the water was legit brown The robe was dirty
The best thing about the Hotel on Rivington is the staff - especially Andy and Deru. The location is great, and despite the active life on the street, the room was very quiet (ours faced the courtyard).
Would definitely return!
Personnel pas du tout serviable
Très bruyant
Pas très propre
Équipement chambre très sommaire
