New Hall Hotel & Spa, Birmingham

The room was incredible and very spacious.

We booked this hotel as part of a birthday and wedding anniversary celebration getaway!
The welcome from when we first walked into the hotel was good by the male staff member. He was friendly, smiling and polite, checking us in and opening doors leading to our room. The reception staff are the first people you see when you walk into the hotel and makes an impact. He was great however the was another female staff sat with him who didn’t even look up or acknowledge us.
Once checked in, we walked past the reception area numerous times to go to the bar, pool, walks and breakfast but the other staff members did not smile, acknowledge or greet any of us.
Cameron from the bar was amazing! He worked hard tirelessly, at times taking orders, making the drinks and serving alone. He still advised about drinks options and wine choices. A true asset!
There are good food options at the restaurant and bar however we found that the good especially the mushroom gnocchi was very bland.
The spa was very nice and clean. Not enough space for more loungers, but chairs available to put your towels down when in the pool. Steam room and Sauna available too. Small area but adequate.
Breakfast was good with lots of variety. There was one staff member who took all orders and served the food too. Unfortunately she forgot or was delayed with our basic orders, like coffee and milk. She did a good job for someone who was managing everything alone.

Great rooms and facilities, especially pool and spa. The staff were friendly and welcoming with the children.

Staff are excellent. Nothing too much trouble. Always cheerful and helpful.
Food superb.

I always love staying here. It is home from home for me. Having moved down south, I am fortunate enough to be able to stay here when travelling up North.
All the staff are wonderful. A special mention to Sarah who always welcomes me back.

We recently used New Hall Spa & Hotel to host our global taskforce, a team of nine colleagues travelling in from various corners of the world, and it exceeded expectations on every front.
First impressions set the tone perfectly. The approach along the drive is genuinely stunning, and for those who arrived after dark, the hotel was beautifully lit — theatrical is the only word for it. It made an immediate statement to international visitors and gave the whole stay a special feel from the very first moment.
Every member of the team was delighted with their rooms — spotlessly clean, warm, and well-appointed. When you're hosting people who have just endured long-haul travel, that level of comfort really matters, and New Hall delivered without question.
We booked the Garden Room for a three-course dinner and it was a highlight of the trip. The food was beautifully cooked and thoughtfully presented, and the wine selection complemented the meal perfectly. Personally, I worked my way through the ham hock, a fillet steak cooked to perfection, and a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream — each course was a genuine pleasure. The steak in particular was absolutely faultless. Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive, with fresh fruit and a full hot menu available to order. The eggs benedict were outstanding and a great way to start a busy working day.
I also made use of the gym during the stay and was pleased to find it fully equipped — everything I needed for a proper workout without any compromise.
What truly elevated the experience, however, was the people. A special mention must go to Summer, who handled all the arrangements for our group with professionalism and care, and to Sarah on reception, who greeted everyone with warmth and made the whole team — regardless of where in the world they'd travelled from — feel genuinely welcome and at home.
We will absolutely be returning to New Hall the next time we have visitors to our Birmingham office. A flawless five stars across the board — highly recommended.
