Best Western Plus The Ivywall Resort-Panglao

Although this review is long-overdue, I felt it was important to recognize our even-more outstanding experience we had during our second visit to The IvyWall Resort in Panglao. Quick history: Back in July 2023, we stayed 4 nights at this hotel during our very first visit to Bohol. It was particularly special because we had also brought with us my in-laws from the US (and it was also their first time in the Philippines). In addition to its ideal location, being directly on the beach and close to all the establishments, what made it exceptional was the service we received from its staff, who really made us feel very welcome and respected. Having traveled extensively for business and stayed in many high-end hotels, my wife and I were truly impressed by the hospitality here. I was so appreciative that I told its General Manager (Doer Escoto, amazing guy) on the day we left that if we ever had the chance to return to Bohol, that we wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay at the Ivywall again. And, that’s exactly what we did.
In June 2025, my family and I returned to the Philippines, this time we took along 6 of our closest friends (and their 3 teens) from the US, and our stay was even more exceptional. This is mainly attributed to how well we were treated – from the front desk to the bellhops, bartenders and lifeguards, and to their management team, we truly felt like VIPs. Just like last time, their staff stood out for their warm welcome and genuine accommodation - many of them even remembered us from our stay 2 years ago. I was particularly moved by their entire staff’s gesture when they waved us goodbye on our departure.
All in all, there were 13 of us and we stayed 5 nights. Our rooms all had spectacular views, and they totally accommodated my requests for specific rooms, including offering our friends (with a family of 5) a poolside room that just made their stay completely memorable. Their breakfast buffet (and their special Father's Day Dinner) were amazing, and we totally enjoyed their afternoon happy hours, both poolside and down by the beachfront on Alona. I can go on and on advocating for how our stay was even more enjoyable and memorable this 2nd time around, but I don’t think it would do much justice unless you experience their hospitality and accommodations yourself. So, if you get the chance to visit, I highly encourage you to stay here.

Nice pool, good foods, and they have a dinner show per day(I don’t know it is happened in Christmas season but I really enjoyed it.)
Location is good to go everywhere.

The location is good near the beach so it’s convenience for divers.
The hotel has corporate with travel agency so we could book a day trip at the reception.
Staffs are really helpful and have good service attitude.

From the moment you arrive the staff are there to help you. From the ladies at the front desk, to the ever attentive Noel who assisted us throughout our stay.

Also a special mention to our kids favourite pool friend Melvin. Kids loved speaking with him daily and ordering their sprites from the swim up bar. The staff will be sorely missed and are a credit to the hotel.

Food was very reasonably priced and delicious with more than enough food portion size. Service again, excellent - even bringing our daughter a pillow who had fallen asleep from the jet lag during an evening meal.

The nightly entertainment was also great. Including a band rendition of happy birthday for my wife along with complimentary birthday cake.

We cannot stress how much we enjoyed our 6 night stay and wished we had booked longer.

We look forward to coming back again.

Very nice hotel in Alona beach , all the staff were the best in every level , super helpful and courteous . Very good breakfast with plenty of choices . Our room had everything we needed , with a splendid sea view , comfortable beds , large bathroom etc. Everything looked very well maintained.There is live music from the restaurant every night and can be heard from the rooms but is over after 1000pm .The beach in front the hotel is suitable for bathing but is not the best spot , it’s better to go to Dumaluan/White Beach, a short ride from the hotel

Plus points :
Well maintained property. Spotlessly clean with fantastic staff in every department. Rooms were well equipped and the water pressure even on the top floor was phenomenal.. Margaritas at Happy hour were fantastic - real ingredients rather than juice powder ..
Minus points :
The back road to the property is liable to flood and so can make access difficult on foot. Some more western options on the breakfast breakfast buffet would help and definitely a "help yourself " coffee station rather than having to flag down a member of staff for a refill.
Overall a great place to base yourself in Panglao with clean modern facilities taking the jeopardy out of booking a hotel..

Lovely location, it wise nice atmosphere and the staff, waiters are great! Rooms it was perfect and lovely sea view! We will be back and stay here again.

Not easy to drive to, but the hotel was perfectly located at the beach. The atmosphere was so nice. Relaxing. Rooms are big. View can be better, but the value was great.

The staff were very professional, helpful and accommodating. Whenever we have some questions, they would give their best effort to answer and help with our needs. Met with Noel, Yen and Alan.
The breakfast was excellent as well.

Hope no one reads this review 🙄 really want to keep this gem of a hotel and gem of an island low key so it doesnt get flooded with tourists 😅 our group mistakenly booked this hotel thinking it was for another island, but one of the best mistake we've made this whole trip. First of all the location, you cant beat being right on the beach, and central to all the wonderful restaurants...vibe is fantastic. The facilities here is wonderful, comfortable and new. The star though is the service. The staff here is the star of the hotel. Wonderful wonderful people, so friendly and genuinely want to help. My group want to keep coming back to Panglao due to the lovely experience we have here, and its mostly due to the wonderful staff. O yeah, we keep ordering room service and drinks every day because its so damn good.

We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. The place is cozy. Just a great place to rest, sleep, eat and relax then walk along the beach.

Absolutely flawless stay with very well managed staff and facilities. Highly recommend as a top choice for Alona Beach. Only improvement would be the access road by the local authorities.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay! Best Western Resort Panglao is wonderful for families. The kids loved the pool, and the staff made everyone feel welcome. Great service and a perfect spot for a family getaway.

We booked 5 rooms for 3 days 4 night and we had the best ocean view rooms. Looking forward to their sumptous buffet breakfast every morning. The staff are courteous and greets. We'll be back again!

Staff was Very accommodating and friendly. They went above and beyond in order to make our experience unique and perfect and very memorable part of our Philippines trip. Noel was exceptionally helpful and all the lifeguards were super attentive and detailed during the entirety of our stay here.
