Lovely hotel when in Bristol
Pros:

Customer service was excellent, even got a courtesy call before my stay. The room was good for my stay, clean and comfortable. What was a first for me, there was the usual tea/coffee but additionally a cafetiere with proper coffee, fruit bowl, packet of sweets/biscuits. Location was quiet and only a short walk to main Clifton area of Bristol

Cons:

Nothing!

Good for one night only.
Pros:

The staff were absolutely accommodating

Cons:

The breakfast was poor- we ordered a full English one with mushrooms the other without- both came without and both were cold. The cooked breakfast was not good.

Cheap and cheerful, avoid the basement
Pros:

Staff very nice, and well situated near the university and great restaurants. We were able to pay a modest amount to guarantee street parking during the day which was a big relief.

Cons:

We needed a room with 2 singles (travelling with my teen) and ended up in the basement. Very tired room down there, and a bit hard to find in the windy corridors, and didn't love the back door wide open to the car park in back.

No staff in late in the evening, so had to check in at the sister hotel nearby--relatively easy and they are very nice, but didn't add positively to the late night arrival to the dark basement experience for two women travellers.

Bathroom very much in need of renovation and the shower over the bath leaked when used. The whole room needs a refresh and smelled a bit damp. Some of the other rooms upstairs seem to have been renovated and look modern in the pictures, so it's not consistent in the hotel, and there seem to be nicer rooms to be had.

Disappointing and in serious need of an upgrade/refurbishment/organisation/cleanliness
Pros:

The location is perfect 2 minutes walking from the ontemporary art museum and 2 of the cutest, safest and richest neighbourhoods . The staff was kind and gave us a partial refund but this is not the way to keep a hotel/guest house: the Management should be serilusly ashamed.

Cons:

The basic expectations are not met. The rooms are outdated (the pictures are way more perfect than reality) with marks on the walls, dust on some surfaces, cracks on walls, leaking bath tub, very old fashioned toilets. The breakfast is served by very young seasonal staff (posdibly students) that were kind but clearly unaware of many things : the sausages arrived frozen in the middle and the forks were stored in a container full of stiky dust at the bottom. The stay felt uncomfortable, unfortunately we couldn't wait to be outside of the hotel.
The fan stored in a small wardrobe was covered in dust and bwhind the toilet flush there was a heavy gray layer of dust on top of an unexpected piece of wood to cover God knows what: this is not a hostel.

Very upsetting stay 😞
Pros:

The reception staff

Cons:

The bathroom shower didn't work properly, the toilet pipe was broke so toilet water kept leaking over the bathroom floor, breakfast staff rude and clearly didn't want to do their job! Was hardly any breakfast items left including milk for tea! Cooked breakfast was gross and was served on a kids plate, asked for cutlery wasn't giving any at all so had to take from the table next to me, I messaged the hotel a week before our stay to ask if they could do any birthday bits in the room which they said they would love to be apart of it and when we got to the room nothing was done this stay was for my friends birthday and my daughter 13th 😞 also the room was so hot we couldn't even sleep I kept going downstairs to cool off! Also someone was smoking in Their room so the hallway stank of smoke.

Such a good vibe!
Pros:

Perfect little stay, just what I needed. Had a single room, very clean, modern bathroom. Complimentsry tea/coffee, biscuits and sweets. I have stayed in hotels that are listed buildings before that were damp and mouldy but not this place! Can't commend the staff enough; especially Rhianne and Sian on reception and Io on reception in the evening. Super friendly people! Love the vibe of the whole place.
Breakfast was a little slow, but they were down a chef and the staff were doing the best they can with a busy room. Would definitely stay again when visiting Bristol
