I wasn't greeted or greeted as a club member at the desk. The pool and workout center were closed but not listed as such on the website during my booking, and ruined my plans. The breakfast sucks!
This hotel is shady and I would warn people to stay away. We had an Expedia reservation and we showed up around 8 PM to check into our room and found out that they had given our room away because it was a “busy weekend”. Thankfully, they had a suite that we could stay in that night, but it was dirty, stains on the sheets, a tiny sofa bed that my two adult children had to squeeze into. The following night we moved into another room, which was better. The next morning, the hotel tried to tell me that the refund they had promised me the night before (for switching into that room) would no longer be issued. After talking to the manager who said he would then issue it, I still haven’t seen it in my credit card activity. We shall see. I would never stay at this hotel again. The breakfast was frozen waffles and a step down from normal hotels. Good thing there is a Bob Evan’s across the street! It is a good location for visiting U of M - that is the only nice thing I can say about this hotel.
Worst hotel in the state. This place should be shut down and demolished. The staff are rude and the owners don't care about the customers. This hotel is absolutely filthy and stinks. Sherri gave a 5 star but that is for The Regent across the street which is a great place to stay, which I have done many times. I wouldn't stay here if they paid me. Please do not stay at this hotel!!!!!!! I am shocked it is 2.4 stars.....
This entire place needs a thorough renovation. It’s dirty and rundown. Sure, it’s relatively affordable. Yet, you might want to spend $20 more for a better stay.
Very dirty
Cob webs in bathroom. Grounds not maintained. Hallways smelled of weed. Dirty carpet.
Air conditioning and tv did work, bedding and ice bin dirty
Like the location, not clean, feel like a cheap motel with questionable guests
Check-in was a nightmare - either because of Expedia or the check-in clerk. I failed to notice my surname had not yet been changed in my Expedia account when I booked, and it took about an hour and almost an Act of God to rectify this.
The toilet was dirty when we checked in, and after 3 days of no cleaning or fresh linens we finally (after asking 2 or 3 times) managed to get someone in to take care of that for our final 2 days. The room was poorly maintained, with no latch mechanism on the bathroom door, a smashed shower panel, a non-functional hair dryer, etc. The carpets, especially in hallways, are filthy. Not a recommended place.
Felt 100% unsafe. Stayed there for a baseball tournament and my son was scared so stayed with his friends about a mile down the road. Room smelled of marijuana and had 2 people walk into our room early am and at night time drug deals right in front of the building. Learned our lesson
STAY WAY! STAY AWAY!
Worst experience ever! This place has very shady buisness practices and doing customers dirty. When we arrived late in the night 1145pm we were told our room was canceled at 1045pm. We had purchased a room at a discounted rate ($55). This is a very busy weekend and most places are booked full. They then proceeded to tell us "hey we have 1 room left and its a suite but it will be $280". After arguing for 10 mins and asking why they wouldn't honor the rate they just tell us sorry we can't because your room was a standard room. We showed that it in fact was not a standard room and it was a suite and they still didn't honor it. They canceled our room because we got it cheap and they wanted to book someone at higher rate. Lastly we called the corporate 24/7 help line and at the end of it were told sorry for the inconvenience and thats all. Zero options for a solution.
Also as we were leaving the customer behind us had the same thing happen to them but they ultimately took the suite at higher cost because he had small children with him and everyone else was booked.
STAY AWAY at all costs.
This property is in very poor condition. Most things are broken or are breaking. Entire shower was broken, we wouldnt even use it.
Slamming doors took place all night and morning, very very noisy.
This hotel houses crews of construction workers for weeks at a time. It was noisy and the hallways reeked of take out food and pot smoke. We had to change our room because music was loud and coming through the wall.
messy and smelly
pet dog are charged extra
I’m not recommending
As a woman staying alone,I wasn’t very pleased that the front desk attendant announced my room number to me and everyone else in the lobby. The stairwell was right next door to my room and every time someone opened and closed the door, it slammed shut. Which shook the entire wall. Made sleeping difficult as the bed was up against that wall. Overall the place was dark and dreary. Not well maintained. Very disappointed.
Run down, sketchy area, nasty musty smell, etc
Staff was amazing….. property is a little outdated but they were actively updating while we were there.
No Hot tub. It is cemented over.
The absolute worst stay I have ever had, not because of furniture, location, or staff, but simply because of how badly it stunk. I believe myself to have a strong stomach, but walking into the elevator made me gag every. single. time. The hallways stunk, the rooms stunk, and they definitely had not been cleaned in a very VERY long time. I want to give grace to the staff however I paid good money to stay there, and believe that atleast basic expectations should be met. Don't stay here, you will regret it.
