5 star the Bay view hotel is the friendliest place to come all the staff are so happy to help . The rooms are very comfey and also very clean and the view from our window was fabulous . I would defently recomend to stay here to anyone thats looking for a hotel that has everything.
The hotel is in a great location on the beach front with a very buzzy atmosphere. We had booked a Mountain View room for 5 nights. Although we could see mountains what we mainly could see and hear was 2 padel courts immediately outside our window, which was noisy and at night, floodlit. We asked to change rooms and the staff were very understanding but the hotel was full, once it was possible, we were moved to a sea view room for the last 3 nights which was fantastic.
Breakfast was good and also the food in the bistro but the braii bbq was disappointing.
We spent a week at the hotel and had a wonderful time for many reasons.
The location across from the beach is perfect with a backdrop of Table Mountain and the Apostles, the scenery changing constantly.
From morning to sunset the views were fabulous. The pool has 4 different pools from an adult only to 3 others of various sizes. During our visit there was always ample space and available beds with no anxiety over choice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful in all areas which we soon learned was the Cape Town way.
The eating areas had a good choice and the twice weekly barbecue nights are excellent, although we felt the hotel should promote this better as it seemed to be very quiet with many guests unaware of the event.
This was our first visit and we intend to return.
Coming from the UK we found the prices even in this standard of hotel very reasonable for food and drinks.

Great return stay at the Bay Hotel, Camps Bay, fantastic location right on the beach, restaurants all close by,, lovely staff, great breakfasts,
We had an alarming experience when first checking in. The room standard was simply unacceptable. However Rosemarie, the Front of House Manager was extraordinary. She listened and managed to reassign us to a lovely room. Her customer care and caring manner was quite exceptional. Rosemarie quite simply made our holiday. She’s an amazing lady who genuinely cares for her clients. Thank you so much.
We enjoyed our 2 week stay at this lovely hotel set in a great location.
The room was well appointed.Always cleaned properly.
The pool and decking areas are lovely.
Breakfast experince not good.Service is slow to say the least.
Always amazing
I return every two years and it keeps getting better and better…
The best location in Cape Town by far…
Friendly staff that greets you with a smile it’s like coming back home…
Beautiful, elegant rooms, it doesn’t matter if you see facing the mountain or the Ocean it’s always a treat.
Four swimming pools overlooking the ocean, lions, head and the 12 apostles.
The breakfast is the best I’ve ever had in any hotel…
If you want a great holiday, this is the hotel for you!
We stayed four nights at The Bay. We had a very spacious mountain view room with a balcony and plenty of seating. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, looking out from the breakfast room onto the beach. All the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. The location is superb, righ in the heart of Camps Bay. The only downside is that the mountain view rooms are next to a children’s football pitch and it gets very noisy. In all other respects, a great hotel.
Great location but the service at this hotel is atrocious for a 5 star hotel. Rooms not refreshed without asking, mini bar complimentary refill did not happen 2 days running, no arrival dinks or cold towels, no breakfast menus provided throughout entire 5 day stay, ran out of English breakfast tea during breakfast service, no glasses no spoons at breakfast had to go to serving hatch to order breakfast hot drinks - the list of poor service goes on and on. Would recommend staying somewhere else

The Bay Hotel is in a good location. The best thing about the hotel is Caamil, the head barman in Caamils bar and the security people. Caamil is lovely and very welcoming. We booked a mountain suite room 402. When we first arrived in the room ( after a total travel time of 18 hours) we were not happy with the room and suggested we would like to see the other rooms further down. The distance views were good, but the immediate view was over a green tin roof and the tennis/paddle courts. The worst thing about the room was a big noisy fan outside to the left which was operating all the time. You can hear it during the night and it definitely disturbs your sleep. However, we were declined the option to view other rooms, the porter saying they were the same. Because of our extreme tiredness we didn't pursue it. Don't take 402. Insist on at least the rooms beyond this one, as they shouldn't be as noisy.
Also, the breakfast staff are very slow and not attentive. This is not there fault, because the kitchen managers are not keeping an eye on things and giving any guidance as far as we could see. The managers stand around and don't help out as much as they should do.
However, the security chaps are very good and very polite
Overall the hotel staff were uninterested and very average.
The incredible location … gorgeous views and literally on the doorstep of fabulous restaurants! Had spa vouchers and a welcome drink on arrival.
Met with skepticism on arrival almost like “oh you are staying here” … stuff could be better trained on handling guests the same

Wonderful stay ! Great staff, perfect location, great pool !
Everything was absolutely wonderful and perfect (except the comfort of the bed…)
The bed is the worst part of my stay… it has been so far the less comfortable I had and that’s the only reason I did not stay longer, which would need to improve because so far this hotel has been my favorite one in Cape Town.
