Lovely quiet area, friendly staff and great breakfast
Up a steep hill!
Staff friendly and helpful. Good base for exploring Shanklin and the rest of the island. Rooms large and comfortable. Nice gardens.
A lift would have been helpful to first floor. However we knew about this before we visited.
Room was number five seaview and garden view, double aspect windows opened nice and wide to let air in, lovely views from bed looking into the trees and watching the sunrise, comfortable 4 poster bed, bathroom, nice large bath, shower good, lots of hot water, door way a little narrow I to bathe but due to old building cannot change that, , pool we did not use but was well used and free towels, breakfast was very disappointing, no healthy options, no fresh fruit, no jugs of water, no muesli or seeds, only hot cooked breakfast, no choice of eggs all fried, in the end we went out for breakfast to briddlesford farm cafe, excellent breakfast there with veg breakfast, tv was on all the time, it should be switched off, if on then then turn volume off and and subtitles off.
Breakfast very poor choice, as above, this is the only thing letting the hotel down, a bit of thought needed here, people expected more choice than just a fry up and corn flakes or weetabix
Staff very friendly and helpful. Property beautiful and gardens, pool. Location good. Lovely sea view. Room good size and bath!.
Bit concerning no night porter, I know there was an emergency number, but not the same. Breakfast OK, but a bit casual and basic
Not much range.
Great location. Old village was lovely. Loved the hotel pool and grounds. Staff very helpful and lots of history with the hotel. Goid sizwd rooms and the view from our room was fantastic.
Our only complaint was that the bed matress was incredibly hard which made comdortable sleeping impossible.
Lovely friendly staff. Clean and warm welcome Would go back in the future
Lovely location, great pool open from 8am-8pm with pool toys provided; pool noodles, floats etc... Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Our room had everything we needed.
There was no hot water from either the shower or bath taps on our last day. I didn't report it as I thought maybe everyone else was using it and whatever system was used to heat the water couldn't keep up with demand, so can't really complain.
Very tired hotel and hotel room. Could have been cleaner. TV in room was very small. No hot water second morning. Overall disappointing
Lovely rooms clean and comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Up quite a steep hill, quite a long walk to beach
Came in a heatwave, so really appreciated the pool. Lovely gardens and a sea view from our bedroom. Friendly, helpful staff.
Dinners didn't seem exciting - spag bol etc. A bit of a walk or a short drive to the centre of Shanklin.
Der Pool und das Familienzimmer.
Very welcoming from Tom. Excellent view from our room. Clean. Spacious room with big double bed. Nice and quite atmosfere. Relaxing pool.
None
The hotel was very nice, the decor of our room was a little dated but very comfortable, the public rooms were tasteful in both decor and furnishings. Staff were both both friendly, efficient and made us welcome, Tom was a mine of information and very helpful. Very enjoyable stay and would certainly do so again. Highly recommended.
Nothing
Lovely building and location
Room ok ensuite was in need of renewing
Roomy, clean, staff lovely friendly helpful nothing too much trouble but only one staff member for evening shift doing reception bar serving dinner
A bit too remote and up a hill and that they had non residents use the pool which caused issues with noise anti social behaviour so spoilt it for guests
