The staff, the feel and decor of the hotel. The food was fantastic and the roof top bar was a lot of fun.

hotel was perfect. all the staff were lovely especially amy at the roof top bar (made us feel so welcome and special), lucas and facundo were also beyond helpful and sweet, making us feel like we were at home.

On arrival, I asked to pay my hotel visitor taxes immediately, as per normal, then I know I need not think about it on my last day, it would be done. But was told that they do not do that, I might stay longer (unlikely to happen as I had only come to go to a concert and my homebound flights were booked).
And then - this is the only hotel which I have booked to stay at and on arrival, having fully paid already, I was asked for a deposit of 100€. In booking to stay at a hotel (in which I have stayed at many) I put my trust in the place - give my money - but in asking for an extra amount of money 'as a deposit against any meals / drinks, services' I might have.
When I stated that I am a person who prefers to and always pay on the spot, never asking to place it against my room number, I was told that it was 'Hoxton Policy'.
So they do not trust anyone to pay as I do! ...
We put our trust in the Hoxton by paying a good amount of money up front, but the Hoxton does not wish to trust us - Shameful!
It is not the amount they asked for, but the principle. Also the money was not requested - but demanded. I had looked at some reviews before booking, but thought the complaints were about the pool, which I would not need.

Sounds like this is just a money grabbing place. Having discussed with many other well travelled friends over those few days, nobody had encountered this 'deposit demanding' situation before either.
The staff made me feel that I was the 'ignorant traveller'.
Before arriving, I had thought I would have my breakfasts at the hotel, and maybe invite some of my friends to have lunch/ dinner with me there. But no, the extra money demanding experience changed my mind, and I chose to eat elsewhere. (Willingly paying hundreds of Euros for my guests group's meals with no problem) So, the Hoxton Poblenou lost out on receiving any extra money from me, through using their policy!
Yes, I did have my money returned later (after the full 100 had shown up on my bank account as 'pending' . I never wish to stay here again.

No - the Hoxton people will not care about my words and will not change their policy. But for certain I cannot recommend the place, in fact I will tell all I know of my experience. Unloved room, marks on walls and curtains - I took photos as evidence, should this be questioned. Another point is that if you ask the hotel to call a taxi, 10Euros is added to the taxi fare. The only positive were the three younger staff members who were helpful, friendly and polite.

Das Lager ist insgesamt sehr gut. Der Raum war täglich sauber und ordentlich. Die Terrasse sowie der Rooftop-Pool sind besonders schön und laden zum Entspannen ein. Das Personal entspricht jedoch nicht ganz dem Standard eines 4-Sterne-Hotels.

It truly feels like a home away from home and an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is incredible, warm, welcoming, and full of charm!

What really makes this place stand out is the attention from the staff, especially Federico. He went above and beyond by giving us a map of Barcelona and marking all the key places to visit, which really helped us discover the city like locals.

I would highly recommend staying here!

Il rooftop è molto bello, soprattutto la parte del bar che offre una vista bellissima sulla città.
La colazione è molto buona e varia.
Le camere sono pulite e grandi, il letto comodissimo e anche i cuscini.
La posizione è ottima per girare a piedi la città.
