location and the room
rate of the room, but this is NYC
Overview: Good location but nothing special beyond the location
Arrival: arrived by taxi.
Check in: efficient check in, acknowledged status. Janet (working the front desk) was helpful
Room (4342): king room. Micro coffee maker, safe, desk, older LG TV. Does NOT include a mini refrigerator.
Bed: adequate mattress and linens.
Bathroom: shower only. Extremely limited counter space.
Sleep quality: above average. The high floor really helped reduce noise.
Housekeeping: only stayed one night, seemed fine
Security: Below average. The elevators do not require a key to access the guest floors. Here’s an irony- the bathroom on floor 2 near the restaurant requires a guest key to access but there’s zero security for guest floor access. This hotel doesn’t have its priorities straight.
Restaurant: on site restaurant and bar called Foundry (free breakfast if you have Marriott status in Foundry basement area).
Value: NY CIty hotel pricing is crazy. I personally don’t think this Westin is worth $560 with tax with a group discount.
Internet: upgraded to the $19.99/day internet (free with my Marriott status) and internet was fast.
Conference facilities: Attended (and spoke at) a professional conference, and the conference facilities are tight! Crowded to the point of being claustrophobic and likely a fire code violation. Seats in the conference room were crushed together like sardines. HVAC couldn’t compensate properly for all the bodies in the room. Insufficient bathrooms on floor 5. Horrible conference catering- the salmon was one of the worst conference lunches I’ve ever had.
Tips: Hotel is in the vicinity of Times Square. Restaurants, theaters, and much more all within a short walk.
Misc: Had an Amazon packaged delivered. The hotel delegates packages to the FedEx office in the lobby. The FeEx office has limited hours and charges a fee to retrieve delivered packages.
Location is perfect, close to subway, bus station, and away from the noisiest part of Times Sq. ... A/C works great.
The bathroom light keeps going off because it's on a timer. The timer needs to be longer than 2 minutes or whatever it is set at. The Wi-Fi did not work. They sent an IT guy to fix it but still wouldn't work. No fridge.
Atención y la ubicación
Todo bien
Perfect location in the breath of New York.
Reasonable sized room for 4 in the centre of New York.
Staff were not helpful on check in. They didn’t even direct us to the correct lift!
Limited extras for the price we paid - only 2 bottles of water in the room for 4 people and no fridge.
No breakfast included.
This is the second time I’ve stayed here in NYC on business and it hopefully won’t be my last! The Westin gives the feeling of luxury without the steep pricetag. The rooms are clean and spacious, and there are large, inviting meeting spaces in the lobby. The location is a block off Times Square and a block or so away from Hell’s Kitchen, which provides so many options for delicious food and treats!
They overcharged me adding someone else’s room to my fee and won’t issue a refund.
The location is great and had wonderful skyline views of NY city. Close to Time Square and always buzzing with life. The Hotel lobbies are much nicer than the room or facilities provided. The restaurant food was mediocre at best.
The room was disappointingly small, and the facilities were extremely limited. There was no kettle, fridge, iron, minibar, or many of the basic amenities you would typically expect from a hotel of this standard.
What was even more disappointing was the level of service. The staff were consistently rude, dismissive, and unhelpful throughout our stay. We arrived at approximately 5:00 PM after an eight-hour journey from London, only to be told that our room was not yet ready. We were assured that we would receive a call when it became available, but no one ever contacted us. When we returned at around 7:00 PM, we were simply given access to the room and offered $100 towards a meal in the hotel restuarant which didnt even cover 2 main courses at their prices, and no explanations of the hotel's facilities or included amenities.
It was only after four nights that we discovered our booking included complimentary daily excursions and drinks at the bar. Had these benefits been properly explained at check-in, we would have made use of them throughout our stay. When we raised the issue with the hotel, they refused to offer any reimbursement, credit, or compensation despite their clear failure to inform us.
Overall, the combination of poor customer service, inadequate communication, and lack of basic in-room amenities made for a very disappointing experience.
Gute Lage aber sehr lärmig. Gute Erreichbarkeit mit ÖV. Alles in der Nähe.
Tolle Aussicht aus dem 44. OG.
Hotelpersonal war mässig freundlich und mässig dienstleistungsorientiert. Hotel mutet alt an von innen. Safeprobleme: Safe musste zweimal reseted werden (keine Entschuldigung des Personals).
The rooms are okay, but for the price you have so many other options in the area - choose another option.
Had to request a fridge and it came a few hours later - so much for keeping my leftovers because I didn’t think to check that the fridge cabinet wasn’t empty.
I know this is NYC, so I’m not expecting overly pleasant and friendly, but the staff was rude and not helpful at all. Hospitality industry- do better
