Marriott at its average
Pros:

Well, it's a Marriott so mostly predictable in Marriott-ish ways which is one of the reasons we stay at them, no? The room was large and mostly comfortable but hardly posh. It looked and felt like the hotel had been completely refurbished since it was built so that was a pleasant surprise and relief. The front desk staff members were delightful and the cleaning staff I talked to were very accommodating when i needed extra towels. One can get coffee at 630 and room service which seems much less common since covid. A short drive takes you to starbucks and there's food options a short walk across a parking lot. A little breakfast bar off the lobby had a decent wrapped breakfast burrito to go.

Cons:

While my room looked clean and felt clean, bits of unidentifiable things were in some of the edges and corners of the bathroom and inside hall, not enough to be gross and move rooms but enough to be a knock on the predictability promise of the brand . A used q-tip lay on the carpet outside my room for the duration of my stay; various candy wrappers were laying on the carpet in the hallway when i checked in. i also don't like the large pump bottle method of dispensing shampoo and soap in the shower because they strike me as unsanitary...don't you have to touch them with dirty hands before getting soap? Beware the packaged convenience foods in a nook off the lobby...they're exceedingly expensive and mostly unhealthy anyway.

Great stay at the Marriott Cleveland East
Pros:

I've stayed at this property twice in the past few months; all my previous stays at this property were years ago, before they remodeled and added the M Lounge. This is an excellent Marriott property! The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, and the M Lounge is large and offers a nice variety of foods (particularly at breakfast, where the offerings included smoked salmon). What really set this property apart for me is the staff. At both the front desk and in the M Lounge, I found the staff to be very upbeat, cheerful and friendly, which was a nice added touch to our stay. I'll definitely stay here again!

Disappointing Stay Due to Lack of Noise Control
Pros:

I have stayed at this Marriott property many times in the past and have always had a positive experience, which is why this stay was so disappointing.

During my visit, there was a large youth sports group staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, there was no apparent supervision or enforcement of hotel policies. Children were running through the hallways late into the night, riding and blocking elevators, leaving doors propped open, and causing constant noise.

I contacted management multiple times, but the situation never improved. As a result, I was unable to get the rest and relaxation I expect from a Marriott stay.

I understand hotels host group bookings, but there needs to be better oversight to ensure other guests are not negatively impacted. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this experience was far below the standard I have come to expect from Marriott.

Typical Marriott property
Pros:

Staff were friendly and helpful, building and grounds well-kept, nice enough looking property.

Cons:

I was exhausted and willing to pay for room service or the restaurant. Reviews online were poor, so I chose not to dine instead of get disappointed.

Comfortable and convenient short stay
Pros:

This is a comfortable and clean Marriott which was very convenient for our needs. The staff at check in were friendly and the room on the ground floor turned out to be very quiet, despite our initial concerns. The gym is large and has some good equipment, and there is decent coffee available in the lobby for purchase which was great.

Cons:

Minor things could be improved such as the addition of a night light in the bathroom - the bathroom has a glass door so if you turn the light on in the night, it wakes up the other person in the room. Also, I’m not a fan of the sliding door for the bathroom - it does not allow for much privacy. And last small thing would be to please remove the plastic wrapped plastic cups in the gym. How about just some paper cups?
