A really friendly geordie welcome and super staff, comfortable and cosy rooms, and a great experience.
Pros:

Location great, 5 minutes from station and from shopping centre of Newcastle and near to quay-side for drinks/food. Friendly reception plus friendly reception at breakfast. Very cosy and well-decorated rooms, colour scheme cream, brown, one wall photo of architectural heritage. We stay several times a year and love it. Room price varies a lot, depends on winter or summer season, and whether the town is busy or not. The building is a former bank, so some traditional opulent architecture remains, plus modern features, interesting and quirky. Clean and correct, good standards. Breakfast menu is quite good, and sufficient for most people, though not as extensive as some larger hotels with the same star rating. Three tiny drawbacks : 1) coffee at breakfast is from a frothy coffee machine, personally I like real coffee and choose to avoid the coffee option on the machine (hot choc or tea is OK), 2) leaving luggage for a few hours before or after checkout means leaving it close to reception desk on the floor, right at the entrance and there is no locked room available for it - normally in sight of reception but still a bit risky if you have valuables - perhaps management could improve this? 3) Only one small lift which takes only two people if strangers, can lead to delays at busy time like breakfast and checkout in the morning, unfortunately the lift size is dictated by the building staircase area, so allow for this. These are only small questions. The main entrance on Grey Street has a huge swathe of plastic flowers covering a granite and marble doorway. That typifies the hotel - classic tradition but modern, with an added warm and friendly human approach, a place to relax and enjoy life. Overall, a really friendly geordie welcome and super staff, comfortable and cosy rooms, and a great experience, our first choice for a stay in Newcastle.

Brilliant location, modern but comfortable and excellent value.
Pros:

Modern, clean, comfortable and right in the city centre. Breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

The hotel has no parking (not much they can do about this in fairness) but local parking is expensive.

Great location
Pros:

This is an excellent location for a stay in Newcastle city centre. It’s also close to the railway station - 5 minute walk. The rooms and communal areas are clean and well presented. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Water is provided in the room which is welcome. Lots of nearby restaurants which is a bonus. I’ll happily stay here again.

A little gem of a hotel
Pros:

Wow what a gem of a hotel nestled in the heart of Newcastle. Such a warm welcome at reception with a boutique feel, complimentary mints and a dog treat station! Our room was a standard double so fine for the one night stay, if you were staying longer you would be better booking a larger room. Lovely bathroom with an array of toiletries and soft fluffy white towels. Lovely high ceilings and decorative wallpaper. We opted for the breakfast which did not disappoint. An excellent selection of pastries fruit ham cheese yogurts cereals and a hot option too- we had the full English and the eggs Benedict. Check out was quick and friendly. Will definitely stay again.
