Disappointing Return Visit
Pros:

Saint Bibiana is always a highlight of our visits. The food is delicious and the restaurant is beautiful.

Cons:

We recently returned to Hotel Bardo for our second annual girls’ trip, and unfortunately, this stay felt noticeably different from our first experience.
Since our last visit, the hotel has introduced “Club Bardo,” which appears to function as a local membership-style club. While I understand the appeal from a business standpoint, the impact on the guest experience—particularly for out-of-town visitors paying premium nightly rates—was significant.
The pool environment, which was previously a highlight, now felt overcrowded and chaotic. It resembled more of a summer camp atmosphere, with children running freely and multiple birthday parties taking over shared spaces. Securing a pool chair felt overly competitive, and basic amenities were inconsistent—there were periods when towels were unavailable and food service was delayed or unavailable due to private events.
Additionally, housekeeping did not service our room without a request, which felt out of step with the level of service expected at this price point.
Collectively, these issues point to a larger concern around capacity management. It seems the property may be accommodating more guests and local members than it can effectively support, resulting in a diluted experience for paying hotel guests.
That said, I do want to recognize a few standout team members. Maxwell at the pool was consistently friendly and did his best to manage a challenging environment. We also had a positive interaction with a manager at Bar Bibi on Saturday (3/21), wearing a green and white striped dress—she was attentive and professional.
In prior visits, we’ve noticed some staffing strain, particularly around the pool, but this stay made those gaps much more apparent.
Hotel Bardo has a beautiful property and strong potential, but there needs to be a better balance between serving club members and preserving the experience for hotel guests.

True hospitality at Hotel Bardo
Pros:

During our stay at Hotel Bardo, the staff is what truly stood out. Ella, Ana, and the entire team at Bar Bibi took such incredible care of us- it genuinely felt like we were transported to Italy. Brigitte and Alec also went above and beyond to make our room extra special, which made our stay even more memorable.

We spent time at both St. Bibiana and Club Bardo, where Meredith made us a fantastic martini. The Club team made our visit even more memorable as we celebrated my birthday. Larissa, Kailyn, Marin, Lily, Yoni, and Jack all went above and beyond to make the experience so special.

I can’t recommend Hotel Bardo enough! We can’t wait to come back

Just ok
Pros:

I reallllllly wanted to love this hotel. We visit Savannah often and normally stay at Perry Lane, but wanted to try something new. The design is beautiful, but things like the bathrooms are already showing the wear and the TV wasn’t working. And our bathroom had two towels in it which was a first for me. The service is what really got me though. If I’m paying $650+ a night (even for lowest room) I kinda of expect a level of attention. The valet, the check in, the green room were all meh. The lovely servers at the pool were the only redeeming quality. I wouldn’t say avoid it if you have kids, but go in with caution for children under 10. What really crushed us was the pool being closed until noon for maintenance despite us specifically asking the night before what time the pool opened. The food is ok, the drinks are great, the coffee service in the morning is nice and the standard you would expect. Overall it was just ok.

10/10 experience
Pros:

Our stay at Hotel Bardo could not have been better. From the property to the room, location, and employees, everything was beyond expectation. Loved the vibe of the hotel, the amenities were excellent, great drinks at the lobby bar, lovely pool, I really can’t say enough good things. In particular, Brigitte, the Director of Guest Experience, went above and beyond to make our stay special. We will surely stay at Hotel Bardo anytime we are in Savannah, and cannot wait for our next trip.

Incredible experience
Pros:

This was honestly the most amazing experience at a hotel. Let me start by saying the design of the hotel was breathtaking. The colors were vibrant and moody at the same time. The rooms were very well clean, and beautifully decorated. The valet staff were absolutely incredible, welcoming and professional. Huge shoutout to Jonah for his awesome service. The spa was very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. The staff was very kind; Kelsey, Jessica, and Mckenzie deserve 5 stars for their service.

I highly recommend this hotel. My husband and I will definitely be back.

Great hotel, but billing is a mess. Double and triple check, especially if you prepaid for your stay
Pros:

Great hotel, but billing is a mess. Would've been a 5/5 stay otherwise

Rooms are spacious and gorgeous. Restaurant next door has good dinner and great breakfast, and loved the service throughout the hotel and restaurant. Loved the location as well, being next door to Forsyth Park.

Billing is really the only downside, and I would encourage you to double and triple check your bill, especially if you pre-paid for your stay. After checking out, our bill looked mostly correct with just one charge that looked incorrect and was fixed promptly. However, a few days later, we were charged for the entire stay a second time, after already pre-paying for the stay when we booked months in advance. This amounted to us being charged almost $800 for a $400 stay. Still going back and forth with the billing department, and hope they're able to resolve this one correctly. Thankfully, they are pretty responsive.

Lovely boutique Hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel- decor nice staff friendly pool area great for my 7 year old

Cons:

The associated restaurant Saint Bibiana was another story- the food was… to be kind, as a respected traveler to and from Italy numerous times, …..horrendous. Stuffed arancini balls with BBQ chx??? Bruschetta with Brussels sprouts? Sorry- No.
Not worth the $$$$. This was a true pass!
