Cons:

Non abbiamo avuto la possibilità di cenare all’aperto per via del vento, ma abbiamo gustato un buon gin tonic vista tempio . L’ambiente del ristorante non ci ha particolarmente impressionato , andrebbe reso un po’ più attuale .

Pros:

Fantastic view of the Temple of Concordia from the terrace and pool area, both of which were very pleasant and comfortable areas
Private gate to the Valley of the Temples
The concierge Alessandro was very helpful
Breakfast was tasty

Cons:

They serve breakfast in a building with no view, with no option to be seated on the terrace. (Same with dinner, but we were forewarned and went to the historic center instead)

magnificent views!
Pros:

location and views! With a private entrance to the temples and waking up with a view of the temple from your room and fresh lemon and oranges in the garden, the hotel is magnificent!

Cons:

restaurant was good but unfortunately it didnt have views and was a little pricey.

Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel Athena war eine absolute Enttäuschung und steht in keinerlei Verhältnis zu dem Anspruch eines 5-Sterne-Hotels.

Bereits der erste Eindruck war ernüchternd: ein unprofessioneller Empfang, keine Aufmerksamkeit, schlechtes Willkommensgetränk, keine Einführung – man wurde schlicht abgefertigt. Das Personal wirkte durchgehend überfordert, lustlos und teilweise desinteressiert.

Im Restaurant mussten wir trotz drei freier Tische unglaubliche 1,5 Stunden auf einen Mittagstisch warten. Die Bedienung war vollkommen überfordert und schlecht organisiert. Das Essen war zwar gut, aber keinesfalls auf dem Niveau, das man in einem 5-Sterne-Hotel erwarten darf.

Auch die Rezeption war eine Zumutung: schnippisch, unfreundlich und in vielen Situationen schlicht inkompetent. Nach insgesamt 4,5 Stunden Wartezeit erhielten wir endlich unser Zimmer – doch selbst dann wurde intern nochmals überprüft, ob wir tatsächlich Gäste der Präsidentensuite sind. Diese Situation war äußerst unangenehm und schlichtweg demütigend.

Das Zimmer selbst war zwar groß, aber weit entfernt von dem Standard, den man bei einer Präsidentensuite in einem Haus dieser Kategorie erwartet.

Ein weiteres Negativbeispiel: Da uns keinerlei Führung angeboten wurde, fragten wir eigenständig nach dem Spa-Bereich. Die Antwort war direkt ablehnend – es sei ausgebucht und nicht möglich. Selbst der Zugang ohne Anwendung wurde uns verwehrt. Unfassbar: Man zahlt rund 1.800 € für eine Nacht und darf die Einrichtungen nicht einmal nutzen, während man gleichzeitig behandelt wird, als wäre man unerwünscht.

Insgesamt ist dieser Aufenthalt ein Paradebeispiel für fehlende Führung, mangelnde Qualität und absolut unprofessionellen Service. Für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel ist das ein absolutes No-Go.

Enttäuschend, inkompetent und in keiner Weise zu empfehlen.

Im direkten Vergleich zeigt das Villa Sant’Andrea in Taormina wie exzellenter Service und Qualität tatsächlich aussieht – hier liegen Welten dazwischen.
