I had the most luxurious relaxing anti aging facial from Melania. She included massage of the head, neck, arms, hands and feet. I felt truly rejuvenated after the hot Sicilian sun.
Also treated myself to a pedicure from Chara who did a wonderful job restoring my feet from all that walking. Calluses gone and feet massaged and ready to hit the ruins again.

Villa Athena Resort has one of the most extraordinary locations imaginable. Situated inside the archaeological park of the Valley of the Temples, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Temple of Concordia, which can be seen from many parts of the resort and is beautifully illuminated at night. Having a private direct access to the archaeological site, with the possibility of buying tickets at reception, is also incredibly convenient.
However, our experience did not fully live up to the high expectations of a five-star resort. We had booked the highest room category that was not a suite, a Deluxe Room. We were quite unimpressed to find that our room was located in the basement. There was a walk-in closet and a nice bathroom, although not very big and an annoying detail was that both the towel rack and the towel drier was located directly besides the toilette.
The staff were generally professional, but the service did not always have the warmth or personal touch we have experienced at other five-star resorts. The food was good although expensive and quite enjoyable in the spectacular surroundings. The à la carte breakfast was particularly enjoyable!
When checking out we noticed that an expensive spa visit was incorrectly charged to our bill, despite never having used the spa. The charge was removed after we pointed it out, but we felt that the matter was handled with very little apology.
Villa Athena is a place where the location is the true star. You pay a significant premium for the privilege of staying next to the Valley of the Temples and waking up with views of ancient Greek architecture. For us, the setting was absolutely worth experiencing, but the room allocation and service issues meant that the overall experience fell short of what we expected from a five star resort.
Top Hotel, wunderbarer Ausblick auf den Concordia Tempel. Besonders zu empfehlen das Abendessen im Gemüsegarten, gemeinsam mit anderen Gästen, man hat die Chance auf interessante Bekannschaften. Fie private Führung durch die Tempel war super.
Das Frühstück wird zwar serviert, kein Buffet!, etwas ungewohnt. Man könnte aber an den Semmeln arbeiten, die sind weich, der gekochte Schinken ist Pressschinken, also da könnte man das Eine oder Andere verbessern, aber das ist Klagen auf sehr hohem Niveau.

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero piacevole, anche se breve, al Villa Athena Resort. La struttura è splendida, in una posizione unica, e il livello del servizio è stato eccellente.
Un ringraziamento speciale va al team dell'accoglienza, sempre sorridente, professionale e disponibile. In particolare desidero ringraziare la Signora Gaia, che è andata ben oltre il suo ruolo: si è gentilmente resa disponibile a verificare il tour guidato che avevo prenotato autonomamente, assicurandosi che fosse tutto confermato, e ci ha inoltre suggerito ulteriori esperienze e luoghi da visitare, contribuendo a rendere il nostro soggiorno ancora più piacevole.
Piccoli gesti come questi fanno davvero la differenza e dimostrano una sincera attenzione verso gli ospiti. Complimenti a tutto il team e grazie per l'ospitalità.
Come unico suggerimento, aggiungerei una tenda oscurante all'oblò della camera, perché al mattino entra molta luce. Inoltre, durante la colazione la presenza di numerose vespe ha reso l'esperienza un po' meno piacevole.

Villa Athena has unmatched views, incredible service, and beautiful grounds. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. We stayed one night as part of a driving trip across Sicily and it was a delight to have an evening overlooking the Valley of the Temples! After days driving and hiking, a little time in the pool followed by a massage from Melania at the spa was transformative.
The views from the restaurant at night are absolutely incredible.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Athena and it truly is among a few of the most special places we’ve stayed at. We chose it to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it couldn’t have been a more memorable setting.
The location overlooking the Valley of the Temples is simply breathtaking. Every member of the staff was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. They helped make the occasion feel even more special with their thoughtful service.
If you’re looking for a unique place that combines history, beautiful surroundings, outstanding hospitality, and an unforgettable atmosphere, Villa Athena is hard to beat. We will return.
View of the giant ancient temple from the property and amazing dinner and breakfast. Our room was very spacious and had a lot of amenities. We had our own patio off the room and we were close to the lovely pool. They have private access to the Valley of the temples entrance. I highly recommend this hotel.
