Nice but disappointing

I booked for 2 adults 1 child aged 17yrs old nearly adult and was expected to share a bed. We had to pay extra per night for a bed to be put in the room. I did think putting the child’s age at booking would have been taking into consideration when given a price. Extra money spent that we didn’t accommodate for.

Great visit. I highly recommend this hotel for families or couples.
Pros:

Great service, room cleaning of a high standard, nice swimming pool, functional gym. Very good location for moving around Bangkok and plenty of good restaurants within a short walking distance.

Comfortable stay
Pros:

Location was very good. Staff was warm.

Cons:

The property is a little old, and could do with some renovation. The lifts were small. We had a long power outage one evening, and though the staff moved us to Hilton for the night, we would have wished the power outage didn't happen.

Recommended Mid-Range Hotel with Very Good Location
Pros:

I previously stayed at this hotel several years ago, and recently had a one-night stay when a periodic "Hilton Sale" offered a rate of US$59 which was surprisingly less than either of the Hilton Garden Inn locations in Bangkok. Both check-in and check-out went smoothly and the hotel staff was very polite and professional. The rooms were renovated since my last stay and the decor was modern and efficient. The bed was comfortable, AC and blackout drapes worked great and plenty of hot water in the shower. There is no bathtub, and while the bathroom is by no means spacious, it will work fine for up to 2 guests. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and if you want something cooked to order, the line cooks were very accommodating. The pool on the 7th floor is very nice with an adjacent bar and gym. Unfortunately, the gym was not renovated since my last stay. The gym is very small, and only minimally equipped. Although the equipment is outdated, it was functional and well maintained. During peak times, you should expect a wait to use cardio and weight training equipment, particularly during high season. This hotel has an excellent location in the heart of Sukhumvit less than a short one block walk to the BTS station. This hotel is recommended, particularly if you a Hilton Honors member, as when compared with Hilton's numerous other offerings in Bangkok, this hotel is a fine mid-range choice. If you are a Hilton Diamond member, like most Doubletree locations, this hotel does not have an Executive Lounge.
