The location of the hotel cannot be beat as it is right in downtown Providence. You can walk to the Performing Arts Center, shops, and numerous restaurants that offer a wide range of price ranges and food.
The hotel building itself is a combination of old charm with modern amenities. The bathrooms have been completely remodeled and there was plenty of hot water.
The hotel does not have parking but does offer a valet service. There are some parking garages with overnight parking within walking distance that are cheaper than the valet parking.
As mentioned in other reviews, there are some homeless people often outside of adjacent buildings to the hotel, but, we didn't have any problems and this is common in this area of Providence.
Bed were VERY comfortable room has lots of space hallways are nice and quiet on higher floors especially...staff were nice and comforting and supportive...
Location is horrible very scary surroundings honestly was scared to go outside of the hotel or have food delivered lots of homeless and drug activity right outside doors of hotel all night.
Stains on bed framing look like sexual stains 🤮
Great room, breakfast, lobby.. all very nice.
The hotel itself is very pretty and clean.
The location, the lobby entrance is across from what looks like a church helping the homeless. That part is filled with homeless people or addicts, arguing with each other. Not comfortable with having two young kids with us
Employees & building architecture.
Location is questionable.
The staff was nice despite lack of problem solving abilities.
The location was nice many years ago. Now, there are a lot of homeless and we were harassed quite a bit for money. The room must’ve been closed to hvac duct or something that caused the room to shake like the spin cycle of a laundry machine. Bed, tv and cabinets shaking like a small earthquake every few hours. Priority was given to a cheer team staying with the hotel. Unable to drop off luggage. Disgusting bathrooms off the lobby. We were so tired we skipped the free breakfast and left.
La limpieza y comodidad
El gimnasio tenía máquinas fuera de servicio. Desayuno era de motel no de hotel. Poco variado y de pie o en el lobby.
Beautiful hotel, lovely room.
There were some homeless people hanging around the area.
The bathroom is nice. I like that it has a magnified mirror and it feels clean. Artwork is nice. The room is spacious enough. Glad to have a small fridge in the room.
Cold at night. We didn't have enough blankets that I could find and though the thermostat was set at 73, we didn't feel the heat.
The view is a brick wall.
The room is very dark, depressing.
The decor of the room doesn't feel upscale at all. The room we stayed in doesn't look like the rooms in the photos on the internet.
I went downstairs for a continental breakfast in the lobby shortly after 8am and there was no coffee. I left to get coffee and pastries somewhere else. The continental breakfast was disappointing. I saw small boxes of cereal and nothing very tempting. Seems odd for a four star hotel.
The location is the best point about Hotel Providence, right in the center of the city. Whether you are going to the theater, concert, a fun night out, it' all within 10 minutes walk. We also like the breakfast, savory and more than just one choice. My other half loves the cookies in the coffee station in the afternoons! Our king size bed was VERY comfortable and led to a good sleep. The room has a small fridge and a K coffee machine (Tip: bring your own k pods if you like the strong kind, and get a little bit of cream from the lobby if you wan to skip "powder cream")The place is clean and staff is friendly all around, from the front desk to the people attending breakfast in the mornings.
I used the fitness room and the main machine was not working, ...and it seemed like it has been for a while, a bit disappointed but was still able to use cardio machines and weights. Our floor had an ice and a vending machine, but the vending machine was not working. These are little things they can work on, we still would choose to stay here when we visit PVD!

Lamps did not work.
Love the breakfast! Especially the omelette station. Sebastian did a wonderful job.
