Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa

High price for what is provided. Looks like may be formerly apartment structure that was refurbished. Small pool, very limited area around the pool, tiny carport parking spaces ( took a while to park trying to squize in!). The ocean view that I paid extra for is a joke. No reason to pay more for ocean view if you get to see it only through the small window and only through the common walkway area.

This boutique hotel is everything!! We booked our stay using Hyatt points, and we will now be putting this at the top of our list for future vacations! From welcome drinks, to surprise fresh watermelon by the pool, to warm cookies before bed, this hotel makes you feel amazing! Rooms are absolutely adorable, and the gardens you walk through to get to them are just as much of an experience as the stay itself! I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know! I think our favorite part (funny enough) was the chips and salsa. We would stay here JUST to eat that again. Truly some of the best poolside food we've ever had!

Disappointing experience at Casa Laguna — not the relaxing getaway we expected
We chose Casa Laguna expecting a peaceful, comfortable, and memorable stay. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below what we expected from a property with this reputation.
The biggest issue was a dog left unattended in a guest room that barked throughout the day and night. We emailed the property that evening to report the issue, but did not receive a response until approximately 12 hours later. The lack of timely action meant we lost valuable time during our stay dealing with constant noise and disrupted sleep.
The power outage was another major issue. We understand that a citywide outage may have been outside the hotel’s control, but the entire property lost power with no backup generator or emergency power available. There was no hot water for showers, and basic services were unavailable. The outage also created a safety concern. Because the outdoor areas and steps were completely dark, my wife could not see where she was walking and struck her toe on the steps, resulting in a large blood blister and a cracked toenail. Because of this injury, she was unable to go on the hikes we had planned during our trip.
There were several additional issues that added to our disappointment:
* The flashlight provided in the room was not working during the outage.
* The room lighting was extremely dim, making it difficult to see comfortably.
* The air conditioning was very loud and did not appear to be functioning properly.
* The bench area outside our room had a strong urine odor, making the outdoor space unpleasant.
* Despite the property’s location, there is no convenient beach access. Guests must drive to find beach parking, which is difficult to find, and then deal with a long walk to reach the beach.
* Highway noise was constant and loud, even inside the room, making it difficult to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere we expected.
Casa Laguna is located in a beautiful area, but a great hotel experience is about more than the scenery. It is about comfort, safety, cleanliness, and how problems are handled when they occur. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet those expectations.

Casa Laguna is a great place for a relaxing and refreshing getaway. The grounds are filled with beautiful gardens with places to sit and enjoy a meal or beverage. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. The rooms are always very clean, and the beds are super comfy. We always like the breakfast and also enjoyed some other food offerings in the evenings. The pool area is so nice with many places to kick back and enjoy the heated pool and soak up the sun. We have stayed at Casa Laguna over 60 times in the past 22 years and always go back.

Loved the buildings and grounds. Breakfast was delicious and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Laguna to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we loved it! It is such warm, inviting, and romantic place. The rooms, which are on the small side, are nicely decorated and comfortable...cozy! The grounds are beautiful and peaceful with the heated pool and multi-tiered decks overlooking the ocean dream-like. Breakfast is great with multpile options, including sitting out in the garden area. We also had the couples massage with the soaking tub afterward...it was outstanding and the tub with a bottle of bubbly was just perfect for us. Victoria Beach is a short 10 minute walk that gets the heart rate going, but it feels semi-private and is spectacular.

This was my favorite hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time! The property is absolutely gorgeous (pictures don’t do it justice), and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Every hotel we stayed at for the rest of our trip felt like a disappointment because we just kept comparing them to Casa Laguna and wishing we were still there!

What a special hotel! The grounds are magical and remind me of a Mediterranean stay, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the overall experience was so much more than we anticipated. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing, intimate, and special stay. We loved everything from the welcome drink to the nightly cookies to the calm of the staff that contributed to such a relaxing stay. Thank you, staff, for a perfect experience.

We absolutely loved our time here. The welcome drinks, wonderful staff, really good breakfast with great coffee, and all the amenities you needed. This was a quaint and simply wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Not your usual chain hotel! Cozy and warm surrounded by gardens and views of the ocean. The room was beautiful and clean. A few blocks from main beach but short drive to it and the downtown area. I visited with my mom and we are going back! Limited parking, I had to park my car on the street but not a problem since the area is super safe!

Casa Laguna has a charm that immediately transports you to a small boutique hotel in Italy. The property is beautiful, intimate, and full of character, and the setting in Laguna Beach feels wonderfully removed from the hustle and bustle.

The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout my stay. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, which was thoughtfully prepared and a lovely way to start the day. The bath towels, bedding, and overall comfort of the room were excellent.

A couple of things future guests may want to keep in mind. Because this is an older property with all the charm that comes with it, if you're a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room on the top floor so you don't have guests above you. The air conditioner in my room was also quite noisy and could probably benefit from an update.

The only aspect that gave me pause was the $50 resort fee, which felt a bit excessive given the size and offerings of the property.

That said, Casa Laguna's unique atmosphere, exceptional staff, and European inspired ambiance far outweighed these minor inconveniences. I would absolutely consider returning and would happily recommend it to travelers looking for a romantic and distinctive Laguna Beach experience.

Such a beautiful hotel!! The staff were Amazing, the food was terrific, the ambiance was perfect!! We will definitely visit again and stay longer to enjoy this perfect get-away!
