Ashiana Clarks Inn, Shimla

Worst hotel. Deceiving pictures. Crooks! Cheating on bills. Ripped floors. Bad mattresses. Dampness in room.

Initially I had reservations about the location of this hotel as it seemed a bit of a way from the main town, however it is an easy and enjoyable walk to the town along a quiet and picturesque road above the hotel. It's also a quick and cheap taxi ride. All in all I was very happy with the location as it meant I saw views I might not otherwise have seen.

The hotel itself was excellent. Everyone I met was very friendly, particularly the reception desk and restaurant staff.

My room was clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water, good WiFi and had superb views of the valley and the town.

The food in the restaurant was excellent. Even though they didn't always have every dish listed on the menu the waiters were able to suggest alternatives, and I had some excellent meals.

I would certainly stay here again if I return to Shimla.

Hotel so...so...dampness in rooms...good view but that was because of Shimla's beauty...no place for driver to rest in the night..our driver and few other drivers were restless....and one of hotel staff faught and abused the driver and created scene in the night...not a good experience.

- Hotel staff not very cooperative
- There is no proper connectivity to hotel.. need to take a horrendous flight of stairs to reach this hotel
- They do not provide parking facility
- Not recommended if staying with elderly

Pls don't recommend this type of hotel to stay remove then from your data base

Its good bargain but not easily accessible from the Mall. Otherwise good hotel. If they can provide drop facility to Mall free of cost, I would raise the rating

If you plan to stay in this hotel more than one day bring your own towels and toiletries. They do not replace those items despite many requests. They gave one new towel. Also, do not eat in their restaurant as the kitchen cleandliness may be questionable. Also, it is not an easy walk tote Mall Street.

Pathetic hotel, unclean , rude staff at the front desk. Very disappointing experience.

Overall good

The hotel is located in a serene location though a bit far way from mall road and every time you go to mall road you need to spend Rs.400/- for the taxi.But the hotel suits you if you go in joint families as single families feel bit lonely as the hotel is bit cut off from the main city.The reception staff is quite courteous and help ful.Restaurent needs good chefs as the food is not upto the mark but the breakfast buffet is good though the staff didn't inform us on the last day that they are not serving buffet (as there were only 6 package bookings) and it was bit annoying.Rooms are spacious but too close to nature as incessant rains can really bother you.But the plus point is spectacular view of mountains you get from super deluxe rooms.Over all good package and worth the price.
