Amazing resort!! Best staff!!
Pros:

Could not recommend staying here enough!!!! Every room had a pool and beach view. The staff is AMAZING! We stayed here with young kids and it was our favorite place we’ve stayed! The rooms are huge, the pool and hot tube are so big, and the private beach access and doc are awesome. We booked a tour on the property and they were amazing and helping us get it all set up and it was SO NICE being able to do a full day boat tour directly from the property! Awesome food areas near by or at the resort so you don’t have to go into town! Would stay here again!

Great resort
Pros:

We stayed 5 nights at the resort. The accommodations were spacious, well kept and had everything we needed. The staff were fantastic with checking in to see if we needed anything. Grounds were immaculate. The bartenders were fantastic and Tua was very knowledgeable about Belize and great to talk to. Would highly recommend the resort.

Our dive trip to San Pedro, Belize
Pros:

My wife and I made a scuba diving trip to San Pedro, Belize. My wife read a bunch of reviews about the resorts on the island and decided on Belizean Shores resort. The resort was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They really made you feel welcome and important and that they really wanted your presence! The rooms were huge and very clean. The location was perfect and the amenities were top notch. We strolled the beaches in both directions, rented the golf carts that were right there at the resort to explore the island, travel to restaurants and take me to the dive shop. We never felt the resort was ever crowded though we were there during high season. One of the best resort experiences we've had in our 40+ years of traveling. Only suggestion I have is to bring your mosquito repellent as that was the only negative.

Family vacation
Pros:

We were here from Dec 24-31. We had a great experience. The bartender Freddie was amazing. They kept the grounds clean and were always up bright and early to start the process. The food from the sister hotel was great. They will help you make reservations or give you ideas. Sol Cafe across the street was our go to coffee stop. We had a room with an ocean front view. We would definitely come back.

Amazing views
Pros:

We stayed at 12D and had an unbeatable view of the ocean. Hotel grounds are very clean. Pool and hot tub are very nice. We couldn't use the beach because of the sargassum. We couldn't kayak or paddleboard by the hotel either because of the winds. There are many restaurants close by (10 min by golf cart). Truck stop was one of our favorites. Secret beach and the town are about 20-30 min away. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They accommodated our late check out. Golf cart rentals at the hotel are very expensive. Try to rent them from elsewhere.

Nice stay
Pros:

Beautiful location. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Booked our dives with Amigos before arriving through them and were picked up at the dock each day.

We had an upstairs unit with a queen and two twins. The Queen bed was not very comfortable and the couch chairs lacked cushion support. Our view was amazing though. I did hear the furniture was going to be replaced soon and it needs it. AC was great. Shower did not get quite hot enough for us but was a pleasant warm temperature. I did miss having on site restaurant but there is a a few shops and restaurant very close that were good for lunch and breakfast. Do not forget your bug spray.

Great place to stay on Ambergris Caye for snorkeling and relaxation
Pros:

We booked at Belizean shores because you can kayak to the reef to snorkel. That was definitely the case; it took 5-10 minutes to get out there using kayaks provided by the resort's outfitting partner, Tuff E Nuff. There are several buoys to tie off at, and from there you can see lots of cool stuff (rays, snapper, jacks, barracudas, spiny lobsters, angel fish, lion fish, and much more). The guys at Tuff E Nuff can give you guidance of where to go and what to do.

The resort is a little out of the way, which was nice. You need to be this far north to be able to access the reef by kayak. It is about a 20-25 minute golf cart drive from San Pedro town. We went into town most days for diving, and it was fine. There are restaurants and a well-equipped super market (Palm Supermarket) nearby, as well as some souvenir shops and a cafe. We ate at Big Taste 2, right across the street, and it was nice. We did have one meal at the poolside bar, but mostly went to nearby places that offered similar food at a lower price.

We booked a second floor ocean view suite, which was extremely spacious with a small kitchen and a lofted second bedroom for the kids. The porch was nice and a great place to relax overlooking the ocean. The resort does not have a beach per se but we swam off the dock and the water was very nice. You can also take a short walk to the resort next door (Coco beach) and use their beach.

The pool is amazing. It is really large with a hot tub and bar in the middle. The pool is clean and warm and our kids had a great time there every day after diving, snorkeling or fishing.

Our fishing guide was able to pick us up there no problem, which was very convenient.

Pros:

Hotel location is great, right by the ocean and with a dock that is a great place to relax. Room was great with lot of space and great view (ocean front, top floor). The pool is nice and clean with bar right in the middle, offering happy hour drinks every day 4-6pm. Reception people were very friendly and helpful with everything, including arraning shuttle, etc.

Pros:

Lots of seaweed or sargassum on the beach mid July 2025. Covered the entire coast, so not just at this resort. Service was great. Very friendly.

Mosquitos, sargassum, bad a/c
Pros:

Our family stayed in the upper level pool view unit. The air conditioning never went below 76 so it was quite warm and the air didn’t work in the main bedroom. Other than that the unit had everything we needed. The pool was nice and the bartenders were friendly. The beach smelled from all the sargassum so we didn’t go there. The mosquitos were so bad in the mornings and night we only left during those times if absolutely necessary. If I needed to leave to go to the office for example I would put on pants and a hoodie and run, otherwise you would have at least 20 mosquito bites. I liked the small coffee shop across the street and the convenience shop. The pharmacy came in handy too. I felt the golf cart prices were very reasonable. We did the snorkel/fishing/bbq tour here. I thought it would be to shark ray alley but it wasn’t. We still had fun and saw a manatee, sharks and caught and ate barracuda, lobster and crab. It was my family’s favorite part of staying here. Secret beach was close by golf cart. I don’t think I’d stay here again due to the air conditioning not working as expected, not having a restaurant on site and only one bathroom in the unit.

Pros:

I loved the room and the food. It just smelled so awful outside and you couldn't swim in the water out front, so that was disappointing.

Pros:

You really wouldn’t have to leave resort property beside boat tour for fishing snorkeling or Mayan tours.

Swim up pool bar- restaurant- tennis, kayaks etc all there.

With that said you would be doing a dis service not to explore the island- people are friendly, tons of places for food- secret beach is a must- say hi to “Speedy” and Alex at the bar. Grab some jet skis and there is a water park as well

We are frequent visitors to the island we always stay at Belizean Shores. It’s quaint, small, unpretentious and perfect for our needs. We love the pool with swim up bar and the people are friendly and accommodating. We just got back and are already planning our next trip.

Great place for families
Pros:

The pool and grounds are amazing. The room was perfect for our family of five. Some of the aspects of the room and bathroom were a bit tired but overall the grounds and staff were excellent. Highly recommend

Pros:

Property is advertised as a resort but more like timeshare condo set up. However it was a nice place to stay for a few days. Better suited for longer stays. The seaweed is a problem in the whole of the Caribbean.

Pros:

We had a great time at Belizean Shore Resorts. My parents had an ocean front room (bottom floor) my family had an upper ocean view room and the other party in our group had a pool view room. The ocean front & ocean view rooms had great views and a nice breeze. The pool view room was close to the pool & the office. The grounds are really nice & overall is a fairly small resort which we prefer. The pool & swim up bar are perfect although you will pay double the price for drinks there. The margaritas are great though. The bartenders are awesome & the food ordered at the pool bar is really good. Unfortunately, the sargassum is terrible there .. the water in front is full of it and it can be very smelly. The resort cleans the beach area but you cannot get into the water from the beach right now. Everyone we talked to said this year is the worst they've seen and is up and down the entire east side of the island. The resort sprays for mosquitoes but let me tell you... you must have mosquito spray with Deet. Take ALOT! The resort has spray but you'll pay double for it. We took 4 cans and bought another 3 while there. We also booked the walking food tour, BBQ Snorkel, and Lamanai Ruins tour through the resort & they were all awesome and easy to do with them. I'd suggest using their reservations department to book excursions. We booked 2 golf carts through isla Bonita (they were much cheaper than through the resort).
