Hotel location is great, right by the ocean and with a dock that is a great place to relax. Room was great with lot of space and great view (ocean front, top floor). The pool is nice and clean with bar right in the middle, offering happy hour drinks every day 4-6pm. Reception people were very friendly and helpful with everything, including arraning shuttle, etc.
Lots of seaweed or sargassum on the beach mid July 2025. Covered the entire coast, so not just at this resort. Service was great. Very friendly.
Everything was top notch! Would recommend and stay there again.
Our family stayed in the upper level pool view unit. The air conditioning never went below 76 so it was quite warm and the air didn’t work in the main bedroom. Other than that the unit had everything we needed. The pool was nice and the bartenders were friendly. The beach smelled from all the sargassum so we didn’t go there. The mosquitos were so bad in the mornings and night we only left during those times if absolutely necessary. If I needed to leave to go to the office for example I would put on pants and a hoodie and run, otherwise you would have at least 20 mosquito bites. I liked the small coffee shop across the street and the convenience shop. The pharmacy came in handy too. I felt the golf cart prices were very reasonable. We did the snorkel/fishing/bbq tour here. I thought it would be to shark ray alley but it wasn’t. We still had fun and saw a manatee, sharks and caught and ate barracuda, lobster and crab. It was my family’s favorite part of staying here. Secret beach was close by golf cart. I don’t think I’d stay here again due to the air conditioning not working as expected, not having a restaurant on site and only one bathroom in the unit.
I loved the room and the food. It just smelled so awful outside and you couldn't swim in the water out front, so that was disappointing.
Very comfortable but that is high off the ground. Slept well
You really wouldn’t have to leave resort property beside boat tour for fishing snorkeling or Mayan tours.
Swim up pool bar- restaurant- tennis, kayaks etc all there.
With that said you would be doing a dis service not to explore the island- people are friendly, tons of places for food- secret beach is a must- say hi to “Speedy” and Alex at the bar. Grab some jet skis and there is a water park as well
Staff was great loved each and every one of them. Although no restaurant on site Coco beach serves to belizean shores resort you can walk there or order room service as well. Pool was great and low keyed for families with children. Any questions ask any of them at front desk very helpful or maintenance staff great to talk to. Beautiful place and highly recommended.
We are frequent visitors to the island we always stay at Belizean Shores. It’s quaint, small, unpretentious and perfect for our needs. We love the pool with swim up bar and the people are friendly and accommodating. We just got back and are already planning our next trip.
The pool and grounds are amazing. The room was perfect for our family of five. Some of the aspects of the room and bathroom were a bit tired but overall the grounds and staff were excellent. Highly recommend
.
Property is advertised as a resort but more like timeshare condo set up. However it was a nice place to stay for a few days. Better suited for longer stays. The seaweed is a problem in the whole of the Caribbean.
We had a great time at Belizean Shore Resorts. My parents had an ocean front room (bottom floor) my family had an upper ocean view room and the other party in our group had a pool view room. The ocean front & ocean view rooms had great views and a nice breeze. The pool view room was close to the pool & the office. The grounds are really nice & overall is a fairly small resort which we prefer. The pool & swim up bar are perfect although you will pay double the price for drinks there. The margaritas are great though. The bartenders are awesome & the food ordered at the pool bar is really good. Unfortunately, the sargassum is terrible there .. the water in front is full of it and it can be very smelly. The resort cleans the beach area but you cannot get into the water from the beach right now. Everyone we talked to said this year is the worst they've seen and is up and down the entire east side of the island. The resort sprays for mosquitoes but let me tell you... you must have mosquito spray with Deet. Take ALOT! The resort has spray but you'll pay double for it. We took 4 cans and bought another 3 while there. We also booked the walking food tour, BBQ Snorkel, and Lamanai Ruins tour through the resort & they were all awesome and easy to do with them. I'd suggest using their reservations department to book excursions. We booked 2 golf carts through isla Bonita (they were much cheaper than through the resort).
5 stars ! Belizean shores exceeded expectations. We traveled with our two kids (13 and 15) and stayed in room 6B. The room was very spacious and was about 20 steps to the pool! The entire staff were very friendly and accommodating. We met quite a few guests that were on their 4th or 5th trip to the Belizean Shores. The grounds are very clean and the landscaping is excellent .
We rented a golf cart from the hotel and every 3 days we were allowed to trade in the cart for a new one so we didn’t have to gas it up. The resort is about a 15 minute golf cart ride to San Pedro and 25 minutes to secret beach.
The only slightly negative thing I could say is the ac wouldn’t go below 72 degrees. The entire unit was cold except for the master that usually stayed around 75-76. Other than that I would highly recommend this resort
The Belizean Shores Resort is a great property and location for your vacation to Ambergris Caye, Belize. It is just far enough out of town to be away from the bustle but close enough to get there in 20-25 minutes if you rent a golf cart during your stay - which is highly recommended. The staff is always cleaning the grounds or tending to guests’ needs. And they are very friendly.

Clean, quiet, respectful. The sargassum is contained behind a well thought out barrier between the water and the beach part of this property. We've stayed at several other places in town and more expensive, this property controlled the sargassum intake better than the others, by far. We loved our sea view, second floor balcony place, closest to the water. We loved the service received from the staff. I needed blankets two nights in a row right before close time and they delivered. The next day the gentleman, Carter, let me know he would help again if needed when I thanked him. Damian, the young man helping with our luggage was smiling and helpful, kind and respectful. The grounds keepers were always working, up early and working late. This is the perfect location to get to Secret Beach quicker and town. It's right in between both.
Great safe resort on San Pedro. Alittle bit of drive but worth it for staying more secluded on the island
We stayed here at a friend's recommendation and really enjoyed our visit. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with a small kitchen which was perfect for our family of 3. We loved the pool area and the staff who communicated really well over Whatsapp. You could swim off the dock to a trampoline in the water and rent kayaks for free (which we haven't tried). Having the dock there was useful as we got picked up for one of our tours right off the dock. We were visiting early July and the whole coast was covered in a ton of seaweed, so it was smelly at the time of our visit and we couldn't enjoy the beach much. The hotel had a golf cart rental available, which was convenient as this is the primary way to get around. It's about 20-30 min drive back to town which we didn't mind. It was helpful to have a breakfast place, a couple of restaurants, a pharmacy, and a small grocery right there by the entrance to the hotel.
Very nice property outaide of San Pedro. Great distance to everything on the caye as it's about equal from the city and secret beach.
Fantastic pool and hot tub and nice staff.
