Room right in the heart of everything. Getting there was really confusing even with the proper hotel check in location. GPS would not show driivng on the cobblestone. Got lucky enough to get the one room with a balcony as well.
Only good thing about the hotel was the location
Room is so small and relatively inconvenient.
It’s noisy
RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE by DANIEL at the front desk for check in and check out.
When checking in, I had a difficult time with entering my information on the iPad. I could not locate some letters as it was a “Swiss” keyboard. I told him I was having difficulty because I’m accustomed to a US keyboard. He said in a very demeaning and sarcastic tone in front of others waiting to check in; you are in Switzerland, it’s a Swiss keyboard, you have to figure it out.
Check in is not at the magic hotel, you have to walk approximately 1 block to hotel Krone. Room was not ready understandably as we arrived before 3 pm. Luggage had to be placed in the luggage room and DANIEL became frustrated when I asked him to repeat the location because it was unclear to me. He answered to me as I was a child. Super unnecessary. He needs to understand that he is the face of the hotel and the first and last contact. That is a crucial point where customer service must be on point understanding that people from all walks of life are coming through your doors.
The location is perfect, however it is next to a courtyard where all the noise is heard and the church bell (across the street ) rings every hour and half hour. The hotel rooms have no air conditioning so you have to sleep with the windows open and a small provided fan. I stayed in mid September so the weather must be unbearable in the summer months.
Above noise didn’t bother me, but if you are a light sleeper, this place is not for you.
Clean room.
Had a great time! Perfect location and loved the balcony overlooking the square.
This property is a bit difficult to access for the mature travelers walking from the train station. The Barock suite, while fairly large was a bit austere and baroque for our tastes. The service staff was pretty loud when they did their work and the view from the room is a bit limited and unappealing. The central location in the Altstadt area was excellent, however, offsetting the less than positively aspects noted.
Stayed in honeymoon suite with a beautiful view of the city and river. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and enjoyed our stay. Thankfully there were fans in the room to keep you cool because no A/C. If you do some research ahead of time finding the hotel and check in location is easy.
Fun and busy location~ large room
There was no city View. We looked over dirty roofs. No air conditioning and the windows did not lock and no screens. I have been in many city hotels but the bathroom and shower were the smallest I had ever seen. We had to struggle up steps with luggage. The furniture old and newer were banged up and not nice. Certainly different from the pictures. Only one room has the photo of the outdoor seating. You enter through an alley where smokers like to linger. You check in at another hotel about 1-2 blocks away. Daniel, the front office manager is rude, argumentative and unhelpful
NO air conditioning. Room was not cleaned well. Toilet had stains in there well. Only plus was the prime location.
Lighting was low so room was kind of dark. Front entrance door was not locking. Excellent location and valet parking goo(pricey)
The hotel was in a great location- nice and easy to walk to several restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed that.
However, there was no a/c, the WiFi never worked at all, and check in was at another hotel and then a short walk to our hotel. That meant if we needed anything, we had to walk to the other hotel.
First of all, car navigation cannot find the hotel location, had to stop and ask people for the directions. Second, reception is in other hotel close by…. Rooms don’t have AC. Very complicated…..very expensive . The only positive side is the location of the hotel.
Very spacious and comfortable room and location.
Great Location!
Bed was uncomfortable. No airconditioning. Old and tired.
Incredible location in the middle of Old Town Lucerne. Clean large room. A great area to base your adventures from.
The room was great and the front office staff were wonderfully helpful. The internet was a disaster, worked intermittently and made it appear Safari wasn’t working on my iPad. Wish there was air conditioning.
The Balcony is just great next to the river the scenery is amaizing
