Please be sure to check for road closures during winter months. Highway 120 (Tioga Pass) typically closes from late October until late May. When the Tioga Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east. All other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Hetch Hetchy, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year.

Pros:

Mammoth Lakes is a beautiful town. This is a sufficient motel room for a short stay

Cons:

This place was quite overpriced given its age and condition. Summer Travellers should know there is no air con (although a fan was provided)

Great location, clean room, and comfortable bed, but a strong artificial fragrance diffuser made the stay uncomfortable.
Pros:

The location is wonderful, the room was very clean, and the mattress was comfortable.

Cons:

Unfortunately, the entire experience was overshadowed by a plug-in fragrance diffuser that was switched on near the bed. It gave off an extremely strong artificial chemical scent. I had to sleep with the window open, and only early in the morning did I finally find the diffuser and unplug it.

I honestly don’t understand why hotels assume guests want to sleep breathing artificial fragrances all night. This one issue significantly affected my overall impression of the hotel.

I loved the old 70’s / 80’s lodge feel. I hope they don’t change it. It fit my needs for 2 nights.
Pros:

The staff were genuinely nice. The property was at a great location and the views were beautiful. The bed was comfy and the pillow was nice.

Cons:

No dislikes.
