Balaia Golf Village Resort

Lovely place - went with 4 other family’s ,
Ubers so cheap and easy to get out of the resort , pools , golf , food , drink all good - nice place would return -

It was nice kids friendly with beautiful clean pools

We booked a 2 bedroom superior room that had no ac in one of the bedrooms so it was a oven in the whole apartment

I booked a standard room. It was very disappointing. It hasn't been touched decor wise since it was built in 1986 and the apartment was nothing like a 4 star quality, more like 1.

We waited an hour queuing in reception - there were 2 receptionists but one was obviously new and needed a lot of guidance.

Then to arrive to our apartment. The decor is very tired, it's something out of the 70s/80s and hasn't been touched since then. There was air con but only in the lounge (although you couldn't change the temperature) and bedroom, there is no air con in the second bedroom.

We had to put the sofa bed up although it lies at an angle (again not replaced since the 80s). There were no sheets for the bed. Also no toilet rolls even though it was advertised with toiletries included.

We went to reception to complain because there is no phone to call reception and they don't answer if you call from your mobile.

The receptionist tried to help. She said she would speak to her manager and see if she could move us to another apartment. She said she would call me on my mobile so we went out to eat dinner with our 2 small children. No phone call! So when we got back, we went to reception and no news. She phoned her manager again and the deputy manager. 5 phone calls later as they didn't answer! She said there is a 1 bed apartment that we could move too, which is superior. We are a family of 5 and had booked 2 bed - it was better but don't stay. They need to renovate!

Nice resort with tennis. Enjoyed multiple pools. Would stay again.

Resort is well maintained with lovely gardens, clean and spacious. Villa was

The apartments are spacious and contains equipment to cook your own meals if you need to.
However, they are tired and need updating. A small shower over the bath but hot & powerful.
We wouldn’t return here unless the t had been updated, I’m guessing in its hey day it was a beautiful place to stay.

Arrived late and shattered to find the room dirty and unmaid. Someone has slept in the bed and dirt towels all over. Both members of staff were new

The apt was not clean, it was supposed to be a 2 bed superior.

The floor was filthy our feet were black.

Had to go to reception ask for safe key which they could not find, had to carry our money etc around. 2nd day went back & asked again & safe got key.

Went to reception again & there was no table on patio area only chairs.

There was no fly net up at patio doors.

The doors were very old & difficult to open & lock.

Had to go back to reception five days into our holiday as no cleaning had been in.
When she did clean she never wiped sinks, toilets, shower rooms, just mad the bed & washed the floor, they have soap dispensers in bathroom on wall & shower wall both empty.

Pool area - bins had holes in so any rubbish fell through in & the bins were rusty not fit for purpose.
some sun beds were broken.
Only saw pool being checked once; pool guys came in the afternoon & wondered around.

On one evening the sun beds & umbrellas were not put down, in the morning the umbrellas had fallen all over the pool area due to be windy the evening before.
Pool toilet had no light as you walked down the stairs into the toilet, the toilets were not very good.

The sun beds were dirty never washed down.
There were 6 lads in three different apartments , playing loud music, swearing & drinking, no one spoke to them disrupting other paying guests, disrespectful.

One good point The grounds are kept lovely especially by reception area.

Was a great home base as we did daily tours of the area. Apartment had 2 bedrooms with 2 baths. Washer dryer and dishwasher plus cleaning staff twice weekly.

When we arrived, we drove around for 20 minutes trying to find the check-in desk. Once checked-in, it was difficult to find our unit as it was dark and the lighting of pathways was poor. We did finally find our apartment which was spacious and included a full kitchen. The villa had a strong musty/mildewy smell. We immediately noticed the unit was in need of a major overhaul. Both toilet seats were damaged and obviously in need of replacement. There were other things in every room that needed to be remedied. The beds were uncomfortable and pillows flat. We would not stay here again.

Good location and the apartment was a good size and had all necessary amenities. However, the furniture is badly in need of updating as the couch was worn out and extremely uncomfortable. The bed was very hard. Cleaning was hit and miss. Lots of little maintenance items need taking care of.
Sent an email to the property describing all these issues but never heard anything back. .

Hidden away from the hustle and bustle . Very spacious room .

Family of 3 had an amazing time at the property. Really well impressed with the kitchen gadgets provided. Some board games available too which were a plus. Property had dishwasher, washing machine and heating. Will certainly book my next year’s annual visit to the Algarve at the Balaia Golf Village Resort.

Nice property no cleaners in the 3 days we were there would have been nice to have them come in and clean etc
Bit far out of the village but uber is cheap

Absolutely fantastic self catering accommodation, our apartment overlooked the driving range, very quite with a really nice small pool near by. Well stocked and maintained apartment on a nice quiet site conveniently situated for surrounding golf courses. Not much very close and everything was an UBER ride away but would reccomend for anyone travelling to the Algarve for a golf trip, fun little par 3 course on site and loads of fantastic courses within 20/30 mins. Albufeira is a bit lively but found some nice restaurants and the beach is really nice, I will definately visit this site again

It is the second time we stay there. It's great to play golf on a 3 par course.

Excellent base, quick 10 mins Uber ride to Albufeira Old Town, plenty of great dining options within walking distance too. Plus onsite restaurants which we didn’t try as wanted to eat out.
Resort has six generous pools, we tried them all, our 2 bed apartment was single story and our patio was right next to one of the pools. Had our own deckchairs which was heaven! Apartment was a little dated and decor could be modernised a bit (apartment 418) but it was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Perfect base for families. Would definitely come back to Balaia! We had such a chilled week!
