An excellent hotel, close to some of the main attractions, with well prepared staff
Pros:

The hotel is located close to 3 top attractions: the Bund, Yu Garden and East Nanjing Road. It is also close to several metro stations, so it is easy to reach destinations that are further away.
The room was large and quiet, with double windows to insulate the street noise.
The staff was helpful, patient and there was always somebody there to open the front door and help out with the luggage.
The breakfast was generous, offering both local and international options. I was able to discover some local deserts which I wouldn’t have otherwise tried.
Free water bottles near the elevator, the room was cleaned daily.

Cons:

Nothing really to dislike, everything was very well done.

Cons:

Siamo arrivati di notte e lo staff è stato poco accogliente non dandoci alcuna indicazione sui servizi dell'hotel. Il personale parla a malapena inglese e è poco presente. Inoltre la struttura è datata e le finestre danno su un brutto cortile interno.

Great location, good price
Pros:

Loved the art deco styling. Location was perfect, 2 blocks from the Bund, 4 blocks from Nanjing road. We walked to the Qipu road markets in about 25mins. Lots of restaurants close by. Laundry facilities available in the hotel. Rooms were spacious.

Cons:

We booked a sassy room through booking.com and when we arrived was told that the bed was a king single 1.2m wide. We were offered to upgrade to a king bed room for an additional price. Would have been good to have these descriptions at time of booking.

Top Lage, Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut
Pros:

Die Lage ist einfach fantastisch, das Frühstück war sehr gut (interkontinental) und ausreichend, die Zimmer sind sehr groß und sauber gewesen, es gab auch eine Minibar, die Steckdosen sind für Stecker aus Deutschland ohne Adapter nutzbar, das Personal gab sich Mühe, gab aber auch recht schnell auf oder war überfordert. Dies lag aber eher an der Sprache, die auch durch Übersetzungsapps nicht hilfreich war. Aber es nun einmal eine andere Kultur und deshalb war es ok
Es ist ein älteres Hotel, kein modernes, hat aber seinen Charme. Sehr viele Chinesen sind dort Gäste, was ich sehr interessant fand.

Cons:

Worüber wir (eine Gruppe aus 6 Personen) uns sehr geärgert haben war, dass es die Bar in der Lobby nicht als solches gab. Es standen zwar Flaschen in der Bar, aber sie wurde als Kaffeeverkauftstheke zweckentfremdet. Auch nach mehrfachem Nachfragen ob die Bar nicht öffnen könne, wurde nicht darauf eingegangen. Einen gemütlicher Abend war im Hotel (als Tagesabschluss) dann leider nicht möglich, obwohl es so beschrieben wurde.
Der "Fitness-Raum" wurde in einer ehemaligen Bar im Keller untergebracht, was als solches nicht schlimm ist, aber es war dreckig, keine Fitnessmatten, Hanteln geschweige denn Handtücher, Desinfektionsmittel oder einen Spiegel war vorhanden. Die Geräte waren neuwertig aber durch die schlechte Atmosphäre (sehr, sehr dunkel) sah ich in den 10 Tagen keine Person Sport treiben. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Gediegene Ambiance in super zentraler Lage
Pros:

Zentrale Lage, trotzdem ruhig, viel zu Fuss erreichbar (Bund, East Nanjing Road, U-Bahn, Yuyuan Garden e.t.c.), schönes grosses Zimmer mit grossem Badezimmer (Walk-in Dusche), gutes abwechslungsreiches vielfältiges Frühstück, Personal der Klasse entsprechend zuvorkommend, Wasserflaschen immer im Flur vorrätig, wir würden dieses Hotel sofort wieder buchen.

Cons:

Obschon viele Dienste per W-LAN gesperrt sind, war es trotzdem zeitweise beim senden und empfangen von Mails sehr langsam. Die Klimaanlage war ausser Betrieb für Kühlung (wir waren die erste Hälfte April da) weil es draussen noch nicht so warm war. Trotzdem hatten wir zu warm im Zimmer. Das Hotel hat uns einen Ventilator zur Verfügung gestellt. Das half, auch weil es draussen kühler wurde und wir die Fenster ständig offen liessen.
