Sehr schön gelegen. Essen war sehr gut, Bedienung freundlich. Gute Betten. Bar im Haus war klasse. Sehr freundliches Personal!
Schöner, gepflegter Garten, gutes Parken vorm Haus. Gutes Frühstück.

Cons:

Ziemlich bauffällig. Fenster nicht gestrichen etc. Wirkte heruntergekommen. Kaputte, zerschlissene Teppiche. Durchgesessene Sitzmöbel.

Parfait !
Pros:

Un super séjour, la chambre était grande, confortable, belle, nous avons adoré ! Mention spéciale pour le restaurant, que ce soit le petit déjeuner ou le dîner, c'était excellent ! Nous avons mangé tous les soirs au restaurant, tellement nous avons apprécié. Nous recommandons !

While staff was lovely and some updates have been made to bathrooms, overall, it still had a ways to go.0
Pros:

Beautiful area and good proximity to the park.

Cons:

First, the parking availability was slim but did find a space in back. The room was in a busy hallway with little sound protection. While the bathroom had had renovations, the bedroom carpets are very dirty. I was unable to sleep on one side of the bed as there was mold or dust causing allergy issues - likely in the carpet. The included breakfast was buffet style but the food was all fried, cold, not fresh. Would have been nice to have some fruit available.

Descent stay but definitely not worth the money.
Pros:

Personal was friendly and breakfast met the expectations.

Cons:

Charging 130 quid per night and then not providing a proper shower is a big scam. Reasonably warm water had 0 pressure. The water was literally just dripping out of the shower had.

Went to hit some trails on the mountain bikes and get out in nature.
Pros:

Breakfast was nice. Cereal hot food, fruit juice tea coffee. Room on the 2nd floor at the front has a beautiful view of the landscape: hotel gardens, forests and mountains. I spent more time looking out the window watching the swifts fly about than watching tv.

Dinner was nice and reasonably priced, bar has a stock from local breweries including IPAs
Location is amazing. literally a few minutes walk and you're out on a woodland trail/in a nature reserve/at a loch. Great for cycling, the most cyclists I've seen outside of Amsterdam. Ten minute drive to Aviemore which is the main large town in the area. There is a corner shop 100 meter walk from the hotel over the bridge.

The quietness of the village, there are only 20 houses in the area if that, totally surrounded by nature.

The staff were excellent. Very friendly, helpful and hospitable.

Car park seems quite secure, as I'm sure the village is. Felt quite comfortable keeping my mountain bikes in the boot, depending where you park and what side your room is you can keep an eye on your vehicle.

Cons:

Floors were a bit creaky, but the building is over 100 years old and it kind of adds to the character, alas I am a light sleeper, so I should have packed my ear plugs. Not a negative, but something travellers may need to be aware of. It's the same in most hotels even ones with soundproofing.

A rude customer at breakfast offending my staff member friend. Manners cost nothing, paying for something doesn't give one the right to be rude to the companies staff :)

Pros:

Mooie locatie voor een overnachting als je de NC500 rijdt. Aardig personeel bij het inchecken. Bedden liggen opzich prima.

Cons:

Ontbijt was echt heel slecht: weinig en van slechte kwaliteit.

Uit de douche in de badkamer kwam praktisch geen water.

Het gebouw heeft dringend onderhoud nodig.

Achter het hotel, op de parkeerplaats, ligt veel troep

Positive stay
Pros:

We loved....the location, breakfast and dinner, and the staff were so welcoming and the friendliness of the staff is what will make us rebook for a future visit, as well as the location.

Cons:

The hotel has got great history but the furnishings and outside of the hotel- external paintwork etc needs attention and the building is looking tired and could do with updating and maintenance work, however this by no means out us off staying again, or coming for a drink/food.
A standard double room is small and cramped.

Clean friendly and affordable
Pros:

Friendly staff, Good food. Nice room. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Lots of areas in the hotel to relax and chat with friends. Beer garden, easy parking. Clean. great one night stop over or base for exploration

Cons:

Outside of hotel looks a bit tired.
