La gentillesse du personnel
Hotel qui mériterait d'être rafraîchi
Breakfast - all in all the selection of food items was varied and well presented
Room - The garden view was pleasant enough
Dinner- extensive menu gave a wide variety of choice
Breakfast - a self service buffet was provided which meant that if you didn't serve yourself immediately then some of the food was lukewarm.
Room - it was described as a superior double room with a garden view, in my opinion the term "superior" was stretching it a bit. The TV didn't work properly. The pull switch in the bath room which was used to operate the extractor fan was unreachable to anyone under 6ft tall. No shower gel was provided. The wash hand was so small as to be almost unusable The room needed a good clean.
Dinner - some of the food was overcooked eg the lemon sole goujons , scampi
Exceptionnel !
The historic grand hotel is admittedly dated but amazingly grand with a very good restaurant and a fabulous position fronting wonderful gardens. The price was inexpensive especially as breakfast was included.
There is no doubt that the fabric of the hotel is in need of considerable refurbishment and I presume this is the reason why it is inexpensive.
Die Lage sowie der sehr schön angelegte Garten
Leider war das Zimmer relativ eng und hellhörig. Zudem war das Bett sehr schmal und komplett durchgelegen. Insgesamt für 350€ pro Nacht etwas zu teuer.
lovely location. excellent dinner
a bit tired, could do with some work
Fantastic to experience a bit of past grandeur. Especially the brass handled revolving door. Just like the movies. In fact, movie stars had their own suites here in bygone days. Sadly no footmen anymore to unload the luggage.
Lovely gardens and in a perfect little village.
Lots of interesting things nearby and beautiful scenery.
Staff are locals and really helpful and friendly.
Nothing. Food in the restaurant was lovely. Good breakfast buffet. Furniture in the rooms a bit tired, but this has been the best overnight hotel with breakfast I think I've ever stayed in. Not so much for facilities as the genuine nostalgic experience.
The location was great, the rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly.
Hotel was very interesting, and the rooms were comfortable. The hotel seemed like it could use a little TLC but a great day overall.
Nice house with a good bar
The hotel has some old charm to it. Very simple accommodation. Comfortable enough. Friendly staff. Quiet location.
The hotel is old and lacking maintenance resulting in it being run down in areas. Nothing overly special about the rooms or hotel. Dinner was disappointing. We visited in summer and our room was warm all night as we could only open the window about 10cm. No fridge in room.
Good choice. Fresh fruit in the summer would have been preferable, but there was tinned fruit.
Fresh fruit. No wildfire!
Excellent breakfast and lovely friendly staff
Nothing really
It was like old times as I visited many years ago
Nothing, all good.
The location was perfect.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The food was good and plentiful.
Externally the building was in poor condition, needing most of the windows replacing. They were showing their age, and needed a coat of paint as a minimum.
Breakfast was goog
Lounge was very spacious and peaceful
Absence of grabrail to get into the bath for a shower
Evening meals
Location
Manger behind the bar bad natalie
Fine setting with pleasant gardens of its own Very good breakfast.
Lovely old building, lots of character!! Friendly staff, restaurant on site, comfortable beds!!
The photos don’t show the road located right in front of the property - instead show a beautiful garden - making it look as though the hotel is set back from the road with a garden right in front. We chose the higher rate for a supreme room “overlooking the garden”. We could see the garden from our room, but unfortunately we were also overlooking the road, with cars driving by, and coaches dropping off and picking up their passengers from the hotel - not very peaceful and quiet as one would expect from a “garden view”!! Otherwise, it was quiet during the night.
