BG Hotel Caballero

Stayed here for 5 nights in October booked with Jet2. Although we enjoyed our stay, there were things we wished we had known. Jet2 has the hotel listed as adult only, but the hotel does accept children. The rooms are very stylish but the walls are paper thin. We had a baby in the room adjacent. Even normal volume conversation came straight through. The balcony didn't feel private due to the shape and felt overlooked.
The bathroom had a frosted glass door that had a gap all the way around, so again, little privacy. Only one English TV channel.
The food was good but the labeling was extremely poor or non existent. Often the labels were in the wrong place. You can't buy glasses of wine with dinner only bottles although smaller bottles are available. Bar prices were good and the wine was cheap. We were overcharged in the bar on one occasion and when we raised the issue the waitress said it was correct. We spoke to another waitress who refunded us.
Around the pool there were no dedicated smoking/vaping areas so you have to suffer this around you.
The hotel is well placed for the airport, beach and shops. The express bus to Palma is very close and easy and only 2 Euros. It drops you right next to the Cathedral. Most staff were friendly and check in was quick. Only 2 small lifts.

Perfect hotel for a bicycle holiday.
+The rooms are just referbished and looked really good. They are not big but just okey with enough space for your stuff, simular to most of the hotels there.

The hotel is situated in a quieter area of Playa de Palma, just four minutes from the airport — yet completely undisturbed by aircraft noise as it is not on the flight path. It is also only 100 metres from the beautiful 7km stretch of soft sandy beach.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, helpful and welcoming, and the hotel itself was spotless throughout. The rooms are a comfortable size; we were fortunate to have a beach-facing view overlooking the outdoor seating area. Road noise is minimal, and the location is pleasantly removed from the livelier parts of the resort.

The hotel is family-friendly (although there were only a few children during our stay) and the hotel provides all the amenities you’d expect from a 4-star property, including toiletries, robes, slippers and sweet treats left on the bed after housekeeping. Towels are changed daily, and bedding is changed every three days. The rooms are clean and light.

Most guests are German, French or Spanish. We only came across another English couple on our final day, which didn’t bother us at all. Please do note this area of Playa de Palma is mainly German, with bars catering especially.

The hotel breakfast was outstanding, with everything you could wish for – a fresh smoothie bar, live cooking stations for pancakes and eggs to order, yoghurt and fruit, and an enormous selection of hot dishes. The themed pop-up stations changed daily, offering something new and interesting each morning.

The pool bar offers amazing food at reasonable prices, with huge portions. The nachos are incredible (10 euros), and even the toasties come with fries (7 euros), there's plenty of veggie and vegan options too.

The only slight drawback was the availability of sun loungers. With over 300 rooms and roughly 100 loungers in total located around both pools, they are taken quickly. We noticed several guests reserved beds for hours without using them. This is simply an observation and something the pool bar could easily manage to ensure a more fair and friendly system.

Hints and tips:

The transfer from the airport to the hotel takes no more than five minutes with plenty of taxis waiting outside; they do have a minimum charge of 17 euros each way. The hotel is also very happy to order a taxi for your return journey.

Visiting Palma city, the bus is 2 euros each way, and the bus stop is located just outside of the hotel (Turn right onto the main road). Number 25 takes you initially to the Cathedral, or if you remain on the bus, it takes you to the designer shopping area of the city, with direct access to the old cobbled streets. I'd suggest getting the bus before 10 am, as once they are full, they drive straight past the stops, and the hotel is located towards the end of the pick-up points. Only pay the driver, and coins or a 10 euro note is preferred (Nothing higher is accepted)

Hotel check out is 11 am, and although reception advises there are showers and changing facilities in the spa (It's not a wellness spa- more a small indoor pool- the sauna and Turkish steam room is not currently operating), this is a single shower (M & F), so many guests have to change in the reception toilet area.

Verbano - Italian restaurant located a short walk away, Fabulous authentic cooking and lively atmosphere.

We stayed in Hotel BG Caballero for 5 nights because of a cycling holiday in Mallorca. We had a great stay. We were very satisfied. Nice rooms, nice shower, friendly staff, great breakfast, perfectly located near restaurants, supermarkets and beach, perfect storage facility of our rental bikes. In other words……it could not be better !

I stayed here back in April 2025 with my boyfriend and it was amazing so I returned as a solo traveller and the service was impeccable. It was lovely to see so many of the same staff members still working there with some also recognising me from my earlier visit which made me feel very welcome. I’m already learning Spanish so whenever I do visit Spain I always try to communicate in their language, it’s only fair given I am a visitor in their country and to be able to have brief conversations with the staff in Spanish I think made their day too, some of the staffs faces lit up. I would say this hotel is catered more towards adults only so would not recommend for families with children but would absolutely recommend to anyone that would like a relaxing holiday. There was always subbed available and never had a problem getting one, even when I arrived at hotel at 12:30pm went straight to the pool and got a bed in the sun. As for the food, so much variety and choice for breakfast and dinner, one thing I was looking forward to was the themed evening food. They always have a theme in the evening for the cuisine type.

I’m looking forward to hopefully return again next year

Great hotel, really impressed with the location and facilities aswell as pool area and the bar staff. Pool bar served lovely food too. The breakfast can be a bit chaotic with the sheer volume of guests. But you cannot fault the food options available, even if geared towards mainland Europe palate. We didnt do dinner here. We had a double room which was quite compact and could have done with more storage / shelving especially in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy and there was very little noise from neighbouring rooms. The 7th floor views out east captured the sunrise and we could see the beach too! Only 2 lifts available so peak times you're quicker doing the stairs. I would go again but I'd ask for a larger room.

Spent 5 nights B&B at the hotel.
Clean, spacious rooms. The housekeeping staff were friendly and did an excellent job of our room.

Breakfast was plentiful, although the cooked food wasn’t very warm. There was however a microwave to reheat food.

The pool area and staff were lovely, with plenty of beds available.

The airport bus A2 runs every 30 mins €5 and the bus into Palma city 25, runs every 10 mins €2. These bus stops are at the end of the street, but only take cash.

30 min walk to the marina, but there’s lots of lovely restaurants within walking distance.

Check in was quick, although 18 euro for a safe and 10 euro deposit i find expensive. Plus the city tax. So a expensive start. Room clean minimal wardrobe space! Tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom clean. We were the fourth floor. Two lifts for the whole hotel. Only 4 people fitted in so a pain having to wait all the time! Breakfast and dinner was nice although it's like a stampede to get a table and the design of the restaurant is in my opinion bonkers.. not a lot labelled up so guess work as to what your eating. All in all it was nice but won't be back.

A lovely location for th e hotel, on a car/vehicle free pedestrian, gorgeous beach in front. Sadly we were put in the annex with a small room with no outside area or balcony and no view. However, the buffet breakfast was excellent and the reception staff were very helpful.

We had booked for a large group and the hotel were really accommodating. We were arriving at different times and the staff had everything prepared. The hotel is clean and comfortable and in a great location for the beach and bars and restaurants, and getting the bus into Palma City. Nice pool areas, plenty of beds, we had 15 altogether at one stage! Breakfast was busy but loads of choice and a nice outside area. We had a very enjoyable stay.

It appears the hotel caters mainly to group tourists and families from Germany. It gets very crowded during breakfast buffet.

There are only two small elevators. Waiting time during peak times can take 15 or more minutes. Elevator doors are aggressive and shut on guests.

Stayed here for four nights. Had a large room at the rear of the hotel which has all the facilities that you would expect.

Check in was quick and efficient. The reception staff also helped us booking mini-buses for our large group to get into Palma.

The restaurant is large and the selection for breakfast was excellent.

The area around the swimming pool is also large and we had no issues whatsoever getting sun beds. There was a good selection of food for lunch from the Pool bar and the service was quick and efficient.

The hotel is well located with a 3 minute walk to the beach and 2 minute walk to the bus stop for the Express bus into Palma.

All in all, highly recommended for a short break in Majorca.

We had a great vacation on Mallorca and staying in BG Caballero.

Hotel has outstanding food offer (like a 5+*) - variety, tasty, well served, like in the best restaurants😊 and overal service is excellent - hospitality, cleaning... Location of hotel, near to the beach and near the park is also one of the benefits.

The reason for little bit lower rating then excellent are:
-small capacity of elevators for such big hotel, but even that is not so much of a problem if your room is on lower floors
- suboptimal soundproof isolation in rooms
We definetely recommend this hotel, with remark to wisely choose a room if possible.

We were at the hotel last year around the same time. The objections were the unrenovated rooms which, to our surprise, were finally changed and renovated this year. It contributed to the complete concept of the hotel to complete the circle of change. The cleanliness is good, the complaint is the friendliness of the restaurant staff, which was below expectations. There is dissatisfaction, nervousness that can be seen on them and transmitted. But in any case, the hotel is a recommendation for a good vacation.

I'm currently in the hotel, so I'm reporting the impressions live and the impressions are fantastic. The service is impeccable, everyone is extremely friendly, from the reception to the restaurant to the maids. The rooms are excellent, they are not particularly large, but for two people they are quite fine. The bathroom is quite spacious, which surprised us, usually in hotels they are small. The rooms are cleaned every day, the maid is extremely kind and nice (her name is Fina, all praise for her)
The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, a smaller and a larger one, there is a cafe where you can also eat something if you want. Twice a week a DJ comes, and on the other days discreet music is played and it is very pleasant. Sunbeds are free of charge, but you have to come very early because hotel guests take everything at the crack of dawn and show up around noon, or don't come at all. However, you don't need a swimming pool because the beach is perfect and the sea is warm.
The food at the hotel is impressive. I've seen a lot of comments from people complaining that it's monotonous, which I really don't understand. There are countless combinations, there is a huge selection and everything is delicious. Indeed, we were amazed by the amount and variety.
Don't think we have low standards, we really don't, we have traveled a lot around the world and stayed in various hotels, but this hotel really blew us away. Thank you Caballero Hotel for a perfect vacation so far

- The hotel was at a very high level, I didn't miss anything and everything worked as it should. Regular cleaning in the room, replenishment of everything necessary, change of towels and bath towels daily, they even changed our beds during the week, so cleanliness and maintenance of cleanliness is really good.
-- What I would really highlight is the food, you will feel like in paradise in this hotel, the half board offered here is probably the best I have ever experienced, the selection, the theme is different every day, but there is a constant basis of fresh other dishes, the selection and freshness are really not visible, both breakfast and dinner. The service around you is also constantly jumping around, there is a visibly moving management of the company and it really intervenes, manages and helps, a real experience both gourmet and in terms of comfort and luxury.
- The pool is maintained (several pools), cleaned daily. Movement in the area only via chip cards, so only guests.
- The location of the room (we had a Junior by the pool) was absolutely great with a view of the pools and it suited us.
- The location of the hotel is in the second wave of hotels (about 300m from the edge of the beach), so the distance is really 5min. There is absolutely great public transport in the area, where you can get everywhere by bus for 2€ in a few minutes and it runs every 5min.
- The public beach has umbrellas and sunbeds for high fees (overpriced), I recommend buying an umbrella for 16 to 20€ on the first day and leaving it on site at the end of your stay, it is definitely worth it. The sea is like coffee, clean and warm, one day the waves are calm as a mirror (great), gradual sandy entrance. You will be satisfied.
- There are endless shops and restaurants around the entire beach and it is lively from morning to night, the advantage is that it does not disturb you, the location of the hotel is good.
Minor flaws:
Smoking on the balconies and in the area around the pools is very unpleasant and a minority of guests smoke here, but it bothers the majority, whether it's cigarettes or various inhalers. One smokes next to you and 9 people suffocate in the area and it bothers them. But I am aware that this problem is almost everywhere and is still difficult to solve, so I don't see it as a problem that is the hotel's fault. Smoking is also a problem on the beach, but as I write this is probably everywhere so far.

In general, I would recommend the hotel to everyone 99% of the time, you really can't go wrong here.
