Historical lodging in an excellent location with friendly staff.
Pros:

Staff was very friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to UCB and walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The building was even more beautiful in person!

My second staycation here in 2 years!
Pros:

A great place for a staycation if you live in the Bay Area!
Wonderful complimentary breakfast and a beautiful heated pool.

Pros:

breakfast was fine; the restaurant and bar are also nice with very pleasant staff.

Cons:

no a/c, especially as the temperature was in the mid to upper 80. No tv in the room, while the overhead fan worked well, the light associated with it di not.

I felt like I was in the 1930’s. Delicious Continental breakfast. Liked the view.

Glorious and adventuresome and rooms need some update..
Pros:

A Beautiful amazing castle Julia Morgan architecture!! Magical time travel ! 1920s arcs.. tiles.. gardens.. art deco pool .. grande pianos .. mysterious and grande and so much fun!!!

Cons:

Very dated rooms.. no tv .. sinks leaky ..6 th floor has kitchen smell.. needs better chairs and tables ..
