Pros:

We had an absolutely amazing time in Tamarindo staying at the Capitan Suizo Boutique hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating, and the food was excellent. After exploring the whole town, we concluded that this hotel is likely the nicest place to stay in all of Tamarindo. One of the staff members even went so far as to retrieve a recipe of a dish we were particularly fond of, so we could attempt to recreate it at home. 5/5 stars all around.

The staff made the trip. Everyone is Absolutely wonderful and feels like family by the time you leave. Great service, great location - easy to get to town, quieter end of the beach. Got to see howler monkeys, lizards, birds and the hotel cats. Simba became a constant visiting our room. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the Tamarindo area!

Everything about this place was amazing. Gorgeous pool that felt like you were in your own tropical oasis, stunning rooms, and delicious food and drinks! The surfboard rentals were a great way to try out surfing, and the location was perfect. It’s easily walkable to tons of shopping and restaurants but in a more quiet area of the beach. Would definitely stay here again

Capitan Suizo was by far my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at! All of the staff was OUTSTANDING, and super kind. The hotel felt comfy, beautiful, natural, peaceful, and clean. It was a great place to hangout for most of the day and rotate from the pool to the beach.

The staff at Hotel Capitán Suizo was beyond outstanding. The care they impart on their guests, the grounds and their hotel is excellent. The grounds are breathtaking and as a small boutique hotel, it is a quiet refuge located at the very end of the busy Tamarindo strip. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants privacy yet access to everything and anything that touristy Tamarindo has to offer. We'll be back.

What a lovely place with very caring staff. The room was wonderful and very well laid out. The ceiling fans and air conditioning really helped with the 90 degree temperatures. The balcony got a nice onshore breeze most of the time. We saw monkeys!!! The proximity to the beach was direct and very walkable to Tamarindo. We met one of the original owners and she shared some great stories of their history.

We booked here last minute after having to leave a hotel near by that was not clean. This place was exceptional. Beautiful grounds, great food and a wonderful staff. We were sad to have to go home after only 2 nights. Highly recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Capitan Suizo! The hotel was so clean and the staff was incredibly friendly! There was some construction happening next door, but I honestly didn’t think it was that bad. The howler monkeys are your alarm clock each morning and entertainment throughout the day. The proximity to the beach and town was so easy too! Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Tamarindo!

This was an absolutely awesome stay. The facilities, grounds and especially the staff were outstanding. The flora and fauna were beautiful and the atmosphere was one of total relaxation. Kudos to Capitan Suizo.

Pros:

Has an upscale very tropical feel. The front desk and concierge arranged airport transportation and excursions for us prior to our stay. Very personalized service throughout our stay. There is no TV on the premises. That was a down side for us, but if you really want to relax and unplug, it's probably a plus for most people.
