Serviceable
Pros:

A short but expensive Uber ride from Terminal 7 in LAX, this is clean, relatively quiet and offers hot, if barely palatable breakfasts. A nice inner courtyard, within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Manhattan village, but not a nice walk. Within jogging distance of the beach.

Looking forward to returning when we are in the area!
Pros:

Ease of parking and accessibility to everything a traveler needs. Loved the outdoor area - just walk out my room and I was in the California sunshine. A cool mix of indoor and outdoor space.

Not happy with Marriott changes
Pros:

This is our 4th stay at this property but the first since Marriott took it over. Really disappointed in the changes! My guess is that they are going to reconfigure the rooms and do away with the things we liked about this hotel.

We have stayed in the King 1 bedroom suite before and we love that it's spacious and has a decent sized kitchen area. When we checked in, the desk manager alerted us to the fact that there are no kitchen utensils or dishes of any kind in the room and no coffee maker. Kind of strange to have a kitchen and then essentially be told they don't want you to use it!

There is no scheduled maid service for the rooms but you can request it. I wonder if that costs extra? We were able to ask for clean towels of course as needed.

The breakfast has been scaled down and is just not enough in my opinion. No more waffle makers, fruit or meat, just pre-formed omelets, cereal, yogurt, toast, juice and coffee. The coffee station is decent though, we ended up getting coffee and taking it across the street to Manhattan Bread & Bagel which is really good!

We come out to Manhattan Beach every year and I think next year we will stay somewhere else.
