Offers the best elevated Westlake view. Completed it with Club Lounge access, the experience is complete. We were so comfortable and cared for that we were almost reluctant to face the 37C to 38C summer weather.
The Guest Services team has been most patient and supportive with the parcel receival. Kudos. The deployment of robots also make it way more convenient and making me feel less guilty. Truly, I can tell that they are so busy as it seems that more and more people are ordering deliveries to their rooms.
For any international traveller, keeping to international chain hotel has its guarantee of services.
The food is really good too. Overall, thank you.
Location
It’s July 2026, summer temperatures around West Lake can reach 35 degrees celcius or more. We paid higher price for a lake view at 7th floor. The room aircon there is only possible till 25 degrees celcius and unable to go lower. Imagine we thought we could escape and rest in the room from summer heat but ended up it was stuffy and warm - that affected our sleep at night too even without the blankets, it was stuffy. So we had to go sit in lobby which was much cooler. The hotel technician said this temperature is like this probably due to the heat as we kept our window blinds opened, he suggested to keep it shut to reduce the heat in room - that means the room is in darkness. Afterwards we shifted to another hotel property and we were able to enjoy the nice cooling hotel room and take naps in the hot afternoons.
I mean... my god this is one of the better hotels that I've stayed at throughout China. Although a bit pricey for a hotel within China, the hotel definitely lives up to it. I don't believe the location of the hotel could get any better than where it is situated as its right on the west lake and the bustling pedestrian street of Hangzhou. The hotel itself also offers many dining options such as Michelin Starred Hubin 28, which had exceptional services and was delicious.
With regards to the room itself, it is quite spacious and offers a large sofa with a large table, providing sweeping views of west lake if you book a lake view room. Additionally, I found the Grand Club to be exceptional with its offerings. This is a perfect example of a Club not having to offer a ton of food, but just higher quality and tasty food as I found myself happily eating breakfast and dinner within the club itself every day alike many others staying at the club. The club offered an assortment of hotel food along with a noodle station, which was greatly appreciated by the guests. The club also has an attached terrace outside that many peopled used, which gave great views of the West Lake. Additionally, the service within the hotel and club lounge was exceptional as well.
If you are looking for a top tier stay within Hangzhou (which is one of my favorite cities), I would definitely choose this property!
The room is very spacious and good quality, the location is excellent, the view is what you pay for and it’s worth it
The room I booked was unavailable at check in. I understand that this happens sometimes, it’s not a big issue. Instead of saying this the receptionist tried 3 times to have me pay to upgrade, and then gave the upgrade for free when I kept refusing to pay extra. Disappointing behaviour
Most Outstanding because of Robert Bai who we met at reception well trained well spoken a Happy Gentleman due to a fantastic Manager who trained his staff well. Thank you 🙏 for the most amazing view and a lifetime of Happy memories in a Beautiful country with Beautiful people and of course the Beautiful West lake. Also to the Bellman who is a student but so well trained and mannered one can see the management treat there staff with respect and therefore they offer the respect back to the customers. We stayed in the Club level and that made a big difference. The staff there were excellent. Food and drinks offered there were amazing. Rooms with Lake view were beautiful and spacious.
There are many company events going on so the hotel was always full when we were there. Many bus loads of people. Lobby was always full.
Excellent hotel right in front of West Lake and lots of shopping malls. Subway station is nearby which makes for easy access to other parts of the city.
