Unique, retro, art museum style hotel.
Pros:

What a unique find in San Jose! We needed an overnight for an event, and this fantastically retro, eccentric, hotel surpassed expectations. It was like staying in a maze of an art museum. Endless hallways and surprises! Each room was laid out with comfy and gorgeous sitting area. Seriously there is no hotel like this. We were able to safely keep our car there and Uber about.

Pros:

The property was quite charming, interesting and quaint with eclectic paintings and little nooks. Our room and bathroom was clean and very spacious. The beds had actual wood frames so it felt very inviting. We have enjoyed staying at Casa Roland and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

Pros:

Hotel is very well kept and love the art throughout. Front desk staff (afternoon/evening) however was not very helpful or friendly especially after I used up my limited Spanish and had to switch to English. Morning staff were friendly and helpful.

Pros:

Weird, dark place, lots of art on the walls and stairways going up and down in a labyrinth. Kind of feels like a fun house. Not great for walking to anything. Staff were nice.

Pros:

Random paintings and plenty of blunt objects. The gym is hidden behind the laundry room and an abandoned speakeasy.

I am waiting for the lights to go out and for there to be a blood curdling scream. 10/10, no notes.

Oh and the staff is helpful in helping you find your room in this maze of a hotel. :)

Pros:

We needed a place to stay for 4 hours while we waited to go to the airport for our red eye flight. This was a comfortable inexpensive option. I would have been happy to stay longer.
