The quiet, conveniently located hotel was perfect for my visit to this area. I felt quite safe and the staff were most helpful.

The hotel was really clean and the beds were comfortable. I will stay here again next time I'm in town.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here! Definitely will return back here if we come back to the area. Breakfast was good and all the staff were super friendly.

I stayed at this location one week ago to be close to the beach… I loved it so much, I booked again and returned just a week later. Such friendly staff, super clean and the breakfast is great. Truly a family location and I appreciate that and the safety. I will def return.

Love the proximity to Illinois State Beach Park and Gurnee Mills.
Rooms adjacent has a toddler that’s crying and making so much noise at 1am. We can hear all the way to our room. Made me awake until 4:30 am!
Surprise that the room can’t reduce the noise outside to at least some decent level.
Otherwise good place to stay.
Free breakfast too is a plus.

Their system was down when we got there, so we waited 45 minutes in the lobby. Then asked us for $100 cash for the incidental fee so we went to get cash. We were gone barely 5 minutes and when we got back there was a line of guests who arrived after us checking in. We then had to wait in another 10-15 minutes to finally get our room key. The staff was nice, but definitely feel like the situation should have been handled better.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights in order to attend my grandson’s graduation from the Navy Boot Camp. The facility was very accommodating was very clean and the employees were very friendly. Thank you, Holiday Inn express for making this a memorable trip

The staff were very nice and helpful, they made our stay nice and were very respectful. Though the room could have been cleaner—mildew-smelling and mold in bathroom, AC unit leaked on floor, and there was dirty linens on bed when we checked in, they were changed quickly by the very sweet and helpful staff. We just dealt with wet carpet due to AC unit, but this seemed to be normal. The pool was nice, breakfast tasty, and beds were comfy. Overall good stay!

We stayed over two nights as we visited the nearby Illinois Beach State Park. The accommodations were great and staff was very responsive.

One feature to note - we stayed in the 2 King one-bedroom suite (which is advertised to accommodate 6 adult guests). The door between the bedroom and main room is really a window. There is no privacy between the two rooms. Ordinarily, a room like this has a solid door, which gives a family a second space to change, have a break from one another, etc. My understanding is the door with window is a requirement of the corporation, not a local decision. Either way, it might be helpful for others booking this type of room to understand the set-up. I uploaded photos - this is looking from suite space into bedroom (not a reflection).

Who charges $20 an hour for early check in??? We arrived sooner than anticipated and we were charged $40 to get into our room. The room was ready so why the charge??? I feel like I was robbed. I will never stay there again.

The hotel was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent! The only thing that took away from the stay was the noisiness of the other customers, but that is not at the fault of the hotel at all. We had a family of children next to us and several families with children staying above us that kept us up most of the night.
