The Chanler at Cliff Walk

We just had cocktails and and hot chocolate. The service bartender and
Cocktails were superb. Would definitely go back!

We have stayed at 5-star hotels in many countries, but nobody does it like the Chanler. Every single person you encounter has the highest level of professionalism and attention to every detail.

Pricey but worth it for a truly premium experience. One of those rare hotels where they make you feel truly welcome and bend over backwards to make your visit memorable. We have stayed at many top tier hotels throughout the world and the Chanler is definitely in our top 5. We will most definitely be repeat customers.

We are always so impressed with the level of service and detail The Chanler provides. There is simply no other way to experience Newport.

The Chanler is our go to place for personal celebrations-our anniversary, birthdays, "We need a break" days. Everything about the place is so well done. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. The staff is personable and gracious. The decor is beautiful and the restaurants are special. Cara, the main food attraction is the best we have ever encountered (and we have been to all fifty states and many countries around the world looking for fine dining). The food of the nine course Chef's Table dinner was simply the best we have ever had. Each course was beautifully presented (as food, not sculpture!) and just delightful. Chef Jasinski and his staff explained each preparation and his pleasure in his work and his interaction with his staff which we observed from our table enhanced the whole experience. Kudos to The Chanler!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and were stunned by the beauty of the hotel. The staff made it even better with their professionalism and promptness with every request. We can't wait to come back!

You won't find more professional and courteous staff than at The Chanler. The property is beautiful and well maintained - in addition to being spotlessly clean! Its proximity to the southern end of the cliff walk is perfect for morning strolls and scenic sunrises. We have stayed each of the past 2 years can't wait to return again soon.

This is a stunning property with maybe the best views in New England. But they only allow you to sit in the restaurant area without ocean views! Don’t really understand why. There’s a gorgeous area with stunning cliff views where Cara is normally located, but this area is closed for the season and Remys Loose doesn’t use it. We were really upset by this. Seems the waiters thought it was a few steps too many for them to serve us there. Makes zero sense to us given the opportunity for breathtaking views.

Next time we won’t eat at their restaurant since the whole point of being in Newport is looking at the ocean. But great location otherwise.

My family and I had two rooms (the Georgian and the Victorian), and both were beautifully appointed, immaculate and had wonderful views. However, what really impressed us was the service. We were greeted by name everywhere we went in the hotel, and the staff seemed very well informed as to the reason for our stay (we were there for a wedding at another location). Everyone, frorm the front desk, to the valets to the shuttle drivers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and seemed to bend over backwards to ensure that our stay was an excellent one. I will definitely stay here anytime I visit Newport!

Great location and very pleasant staff

Such a special quality property. The staff in all aspects made the trip experience that much more of a pleasure. Excellent food, beautiful accommodations- Worth it.

Great views, great location and incredibly well trained and friendly personnel , both on the front desk, valet and restaurant. Room is super charming and well appointed.
On the negative, although the room heater was off the residual heat coming from it did not allow me to shut off the AC which was not a big deal since it was quiet but still
Also perhaps a bit pricey, it should include breakfast for that cost.

This hotel is absolutely stunning! The Nantucket ocean villa provides a beautiful view and wonderful aesthetic. While we had a great stay and cannot sing higher praises for all staff - we do think there are a few areas for improvement, especially considering the price point. The mattress in this suite felt like it was a triangle, so we felt like we were rolling off both sides. All pillows on the bed are thinner down pillows that provide little/no support when you lay on them so I would recommend bringing a preferred pillow if you would like firmer support. We struggled to get the AC going a bit and think the minibar/fridge could use some additional offerings beyond two water bottles. Besides that, we would still recommend this property to any couple looking for a unique and luxurious experience in Newport.

Our stay at The Chanler Cliff Walk exceeded our expectations. In addition to the stunning views and location right on the cliff walk. There is a lush green lawn with seating that overlooks the bay. The weather was so beautiful and the view so enjoyable that we sat there for hours – sometimes just the two of us and sometimes talking with other guest or staff of the hotel. Very, very nice.Our room was beautiful and furnished with quality, antiques and paintings. It was meticulously maintained by the housekeeping staff. All of the staff, and I mean ALL, were top-notch from the bellmen to the chef and manager. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. There are many special features and services that the CHANLER offers besides being a great hotel.

Our only complaint was that we had to leave after three days. Our stay was fabulous and I am very hard to please!
