On arrival, found receptionist to be pleasant.
Reception desk is also the bar and receptionist is also the person who cooks your breakfast to order, and runs off to the kitchen in the mornings. (the very good breakfast was the only positive thing about our stay).
On arrival to room, greeted with a terrible unpleasant old smell, filthy carpets and the laughable bottle opener sign, (use wood frame to open)
Bed had more bars and springs than you could imagine. Every turn in bed was met with a loud 'ping' and a push in the back. On investigation found blood and urine stains on duvet, Urine and sweat stains on mattress, which we insisted be changed right away. (duvet changed, not mattress)
After 2nd day, asked why our room was not being made up each day. Told this had to be requested, yet there was nothing to say this in room or by the staff.
First night, there were a couple other rooms occupied (I think, going by vans in car park) other than that, we were the only guests (only car in car park).
Did I mention the rats outside accommodation block, freely running around. Even though there were many, many rat traps about.
Noise level was ok..ish, considering hotel located on a bypass roundabout, opposite the train station and also under flight path for Liverpool airport.
You have been warned.
Paula was class -
Straight forward easy check in and warm welcome upon arrival.
Get what you pay for and a convenient distance away from the airport 👌🏻
Booked as a cheap place to stay after attending an event in Liverpool.
You get breakfast included if you book direct and the food isn't bad at all.
Odd motel like set up. Rooms and en-suite clean but basic and past their best.
If the mattress wasn't so horrible and cheap, it would have got a 4, just for value for money.
Looks like the sort of cheap motel you see on the movies where they can be rented by the hour.
But, bed was quite comfy, the staff very welcoming and noise was not too bad. It was cheap considering the labour conference was just up the road in Liverpool. Great for the train station.
I’d stay again.
Working there for a week from 7th - 12th Sept, the Room was adequate, the bathroom was good, clean surprisingly, the bed was a little bit of a backbreaker. Shame parking was not included in the stay. Spending £15 before I not even worked is a little pricey. Breakfast was shocking, £10.50? Not even worth £5, let alone a Tenner. Last Campanile's I have stayed at, the Breakfast and parking have all been included. Thank god i bought my Ninja Air Fryer, for breakfast costs me less to buy sausage and bacon and a loaf of bread from B&M up the road. And I had plenty for the week.
Lovely stay at The Campanile. Rooms were lovely and clean, bed was really comfortable and must have been soundproofed well as did not hear any of the other guests in their adjoining rooms. Staff were pleasant, helpful and well mannered.
I don’t normally like leaving bad reviews if it’s a personal thing but this certainly warrants it!
They have people over, going somewhere to work and not sure which country they are from but omg! The noise, especially at 6am, when they are outside your room, electric pump blowing up tyres and chatting between half a dozen or more, loud, very loud, everyday we were there…Fri-mon
Also, no smoking in the rooms, great but they all stood on the veranda and as the rooms were stifling hot, we tried having our door open for our dog but the smoke was coming in the room, it smelled as if there was a few smokers in our room…. I’m an ex smoker, so I’m worse than a non smoker, I hate the smell.
So great place if your looking for something cheap just to visit family round about. Also when we took the dog for a wee, there’s one bench that you can sit at but loads for rooms. If you’re taking a dog, be careful of the bones and fat these people throw away, it’s all on the grass. We had stayed here a few years ago and we didn’t have any problems, so if your heading there, I’d check up to see if they have workers staying for a while and I know it’s good for them to have business but these guys need to respect the others staying there and not having to get up early, especially on a Sunday morning.
For the price the hotel and room was excellent , wasn't quite sure what to expect but the room was a good size ,room was very quiet even on the ground floor room very clean and tidy .
Eaten at their onside restaurant and no complaints there either.
The staff we spoke to friendly and welcoming
Hotel just around the corner from the Famous ' two pint of lager and packet of crisps tv comedy ' sadly no longer a pub though .....
Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very basic and tired but clean. Food is basic but tasty and value for money. Bar prices are also very reasonable.
Good
Property was chosen for its price as we where attending music festival in the area. Very good value for the price. Bathroom may need a refurb in future as very dated. Overall our stay was good especially the cooked breakfast. Would definetly stay here again if visiting the area
This is a functional hotel. It is tired and dated and more like a motel. Bed was pretty uncomfortable
Directly opposite the train station. I used this prior to flying from Liverpool so was o.k. for this. Very budget style hotel but I was only there for 8 hours in total so served purpose.
Runcorn, everybody loves Runcorn. It's where your chemicals come from, and everybody loves chemicals.
This hotel has an urban vibe. The bar looks great, but that's not where you are staying.
Hotel was average. Fine for an overnight stop. Staff were pleasent.
Location good for railway station
This is a 1 star motel.
Once you get your head around it you will see what good value it is. £45 per room per night.
Yes it is very dated. But it's immaculately clean. You get a double or twin room. Good quality towels and a sort of bathroom.
The bathroom is like a travelodge I.e. it has a half bath with shower above.
The rooms have a wardrobe and plenty of storage. Our bed was just getting to the point where a new mattress is needed. But it was OK.
There was an electric radiator in the room and a typical tea tray. There is a big TV and WiFi.
The rooms face the car park and are accessed along a balcony. There are 3 floors and no lifts.
The reception/bar/dinning/conference room is in a separate building.
The location is next to Runcorn Station. And around £12-14 from Runcorn East Station in a taxi. It is a 15 minute walk into the town centre. The Brindley Theatre and Wetherspoons its a further 5 minutes.
This is the closest place to stay for the town centre
Staff friendly.
This is not a glamorous hotel it's a budget basic motel that serves a purpose, but no more.
Once upon a time, Campaniles were basic but offered good value and a lovely bistro-Style dining room.
Now: they're just basic. Food is very basic and not great quality. Price is now toppy fir what it is, which is basic.
Helpful and pleasant staff, though. Rooms clean, albeit in need of a lick of paint and general touch-up.
Service was good. That’s the high point.
Paid parking only is annoying, tired rooms is even more so. Too cold and heater didn’t work is really annoying and the mattress was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on.
In terms of cleanliness it wasn’t bad but a lot of the lesser used top surfaces had accumulations of dust. The main problem for me was that it didn’t feel safe. All rooms have external doors and there are no chains that I could see. Add that to the nasty mattress and I got about 3 hours sleep in total.
Outdated rooms but decently clean.
Stayed for 2 nights at a good price, the bed wasn’t very comfortable and springy bed, also at 2.30pm on Thursday 27th March the fire alarm sounded few times which was a shock I assume it was for testing the alarm
