Not the best stay, rude employees, no hot tub as advertised
Pros:

Hotel smelled musty when we walked in. I should have been warned by the tattered rugs at the entrance. The hot tub was out of order. The TV didn't work, we went down to ask about it, they say they will reboot the system. All evening no TV. This was a horrible stay with management not offering anything to make up for the terrible service. And, the hot tub is not being repaired, it is tacky looking with snow fence up around it.
Update: The girl at the front desk was terribly rude, she refused to call a manager, refused to let me leave a note for the manager, refused to give me her name. In the morning, the older lady that I told this to said that they've had many complaints about her being nasty to people. Then why does she still work there? I suspect because the management is just as poor at customer service as she was. I will not be going back to this hotel.

Fine place
Pros:

Check-in was very easy and we were able to use a discount card and get a reasonable rate for our room. The room was very nice and had all the necessary amenities. Their breakfast had sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy and all the stuff for a continental breakfast, very satisfying. It was a little off the interstate, but not bad.

Rude- bugs in room
Pros:

We were in town for my son‘s wedding. We had reserved between everyone and the family 6 to 7 rooms. We were accused of having too many people which was not true. We were accused of smoking in rims, which was not the Indian lady that was working dayshift stared at us Was very rude and made us feel unwelcome. I will never stay here again and I will make sure everybody I know knows that this place is disgusting. We found bugs in our room and when I showed the lady, she told me it wasn’t true, even though I had pictures .

Noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Half the building faces the highway which is where I was given a room.
Pros:

Noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Half of the building faces the highway which is where I was given a room. Had it not been so late and with hindsight I would have changed rooms maybe to the back side but I’m not sure if that would have solved the issue. It sounded like the traffic was driving through the room all night even with the shades closed. The general appearance of the hotel seems newer but it could have been cleaner. I’m not sure if they were renovating the hot tub by the pool or what but it was closed. Breakfast was a joke. I bent a plastic fork trying to stab a cinnamon roll to take (since I didn’t see tongs) and there were no eggs when I got downstairs. Extremely minimal breakfast and they only put out 1 yogurt at a time in the refrigerator. If they are cutting back on breakfast this bad it makes me wonder what else they are cutting back on. When I went to check out there were no questions asked about the stay, she just accepted my room key and gave me a “thanks”. These days where there is virtually no opportunity for customer interaction this seemed like a missed opportunity, but that’s just my opinion..

Okay for a quick stay while passing through
Pros:

We came down to Ohio to see the eclipse and this was the closest hotel we could get to center of the totality. This was our backup location to view it in case we couldn't find a spot closer. The hotel was okay. It looks to be an older hotel and the walls are extremely thin. Our room was on the north side and it had a nice view of the pond across the expressway. The unfortunate part was the expressway, as it had constant but intermittent traffic that you could hear throughout the night. This made getting to sleep a bit difficult because as the traffic would die down and you'd think you could fall asleep, an 18 wheeler or 3 three would rush by again. The room was clean and kept up. The bathroom was a bit updated but the tub had several chips in the porcelain and needed updating. We could clearly hear our neighbors on both sides even though they were only coughing or talking an a normal voice. We stayed two nights and the morning hot breakfast was again just okay. The food did seem to be running low and there was a limited selection to begin with. The pool area looked nice but there were some areas under construction, which is just timing on our part, but they were well marked. The area of the hotel was mainly industrial and had a lot to do with trucking so considering that it was a very nice stay.

Pros:

It was only noisy due to being by a highway, but that’s not the fault of the property.

Pros:

Property was well kept and staff was kind. A little bit off of I-80 but not too bad. We only stopped for the night and the hotel was perfect for the 1 night stay.
Room had ample room to unpack suitcases. Shower/bathroom was updated and well maintained.

A convenient place to stay
Pros:

We have stayed here before, so it is a very convenient place. We visited family and went to a local fair. We needed a place to stay that was close to both.

Pros:

Our Room was dirty and had blood on the bath tub, black hair inside tub, in the sink, and on the tile walls. We found dirt and debris and black hair between the sheets, and called 5 times for clean sheets. Housekeeping was unprofessional and rudely insinuated we were lying about the hair, dirt, etc. We showed her the evidence as well as semen stains on both box springs. Bedside lamps were both broken with flickering lights & Phone Charging ports not working. Housekeeping told us to turn lamps off for safety. Hot tub was closed for repairs. Laundry room and work out area were locked. 1st we were told it was due to a party, then we were told it was locked every Friday, Sat. and Sun. Each time we needed to attend the washer or dryer, we needed to find the one staff member working the night shift, and wait for her to unlock the laundry room. Web site states the gym is open 24 hours, but in reality it is locked Friday through Sunday, with access given by finding a staff member. One of their 2 washing machines were broken,so I stayed up until 4AM doing laundry. Continental breakfast is advertised 7-10am, but staff closed it at 9:30am. We had a 10 hour drive & counted on eating breakfast at the hotel. When I stated that we were verbally told that breakfast ended at 10AM & it was in writing on their website, a female staff member began yelling at me. The male manager kindly brought food items out afterwards. He was the only professional and courteous staff in the entire hotel.

Pros:

I did not like was when i booked it said nothing about the swimming pool and hot tub was down permanently, due to a leak in the pool ,which i did not see no water going downcin the pool, and what that has to do with the hot tub not in use,at least they need to be honest with you,i think that they did not want to mess with it,if the pool was leaking then why was their water in the pool

Keep Driving
Pros:

This location does not meet the standards of the Holiday Inn Express chain. This location appeared to be a family managed operation and run with minimum standards. The bed springs were squeaky and there were cobwebs in the room, and breakfast did not meet my expectations as a paying guest.

Unlike the Wauseon location which gave you a selection of omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, and a variety of Danish and muffins, the Napoleon location's breakfast consisted of the same daily minimal selection of watered-down, tasteless scrambled eggs and sausage, watered-down juices, and virtually no selection of Danish except for the same cinnamon bun day after day. Comparatively, this was a 'continental breakfast' at best.

In short, keep driving and reward yourself with a better experience elsewhere.

Huge safety issues and ride front desk staff
Pros:

Wen we arrived our hotel room door did not need a key to open, we simply pushed it and it easily opened. We told the front desk on the day we arrived, the fix we were told was to pull the door extra hard—which we had already tried multiple times. Two days late when we checked out, no one had come to fix it and the door still could be pushed to open. The hotel was fully booked and there were no open rooms to move to. The front desk staff was horribly unhelpful.

The walls in the hotel are extremely thin, I could hear entire conversations in the room next door. We were staying at the hotel for a baton competition, we did not get back to the hotel until after 10pm. The kids needed showers and to get to bed. Just the normal movement in the room caused the people in the room below to complain that we were being loud and that we were stomping around. No one was stomping, the tv was off, there was no music being played, I had two sixteen year old girls in the room with me, they were trying to get ready for bed, they had to be up early the next day—no one was jumping on the bed, there is just no insulation or any any sound proofing to keep normal footsteps and moving about in the room to keep from sounding loud.

There were a total of 3 people in my room that had 2 queen beds. When I went down to ask for more towels (we were only given two towels for three people) , I was told we had too many people in our room and that due to Covid ONLY two people were allowed in ANY hotel room. At that point I was done, it was more of a hassle to stay at this hotel to be close to our competition, then it would have been to stay further away and drive. Next year we will stay in Toledo and drive.

Very Sad, Glum, UNresponsive Employees
Pros:

The hotel is very clean. However the pool is closed and its idea of a hot breakfast is powdered egg and precooked bacon.
Reception is so glum, no smile, no greeting. Had prepaid room with Priceline. The first room we were assigned had a window blocked by a brown/red ROOF even though the hotel was EMPTY. After refusing the "roof room" we were reassigned a third floor room with same facilities but with a clear view.
The front desk personnel in the morning were just as glum and unpleasant as the lady we checkedin with the night before. I greeted the south-Asian lady who was on desk with a cheerful good morning... I got a stare and no response. A gentleman who was in the back room cleaning (I assume husband of front desk person did nod in our direction)

I have also been charged for something thzt I know nothng about. I will be disputing that charge through my credit card.

So beware: Unfriendly terribly mopy staff, closed pool, and terrible! hot breakfast. Otherwise enjoy.

Note: There are no restaurants nearby. (The people in the fast food place we went to about a mile from the hotel had very sad unfriendly persons there too. Is it something in Napoleon's water??
