We only used it for a bed so cannot comment on public facilities but it looked decent. Curtains didn't meet in room had to wedge them to keep out the light

Pros:

First night there was a fire, got relocated to another hotel at 3am. When returned the next day they put us in the same room after asking if there was still a smoke smell. Was told everything is good. Walked into the room and instantly called for a new room. No refund or compensation was offered. Not even a complimentary breakfast.

Pros:

Hotel rooms are extremely old. Stains on all walls. Beds are older than me. The service is good. No cental heating or air con. Surprised at the price is the charge per rooms for what they offer.

Great Room but don't book breakfast!

I recently stayed in the Lasso Suite at the Clarion Hotel Newcastle South. The room itself was excellent—spacious, beautifully presented, and with an incredibly comfortable bed. However, a few details let the experience down, such as empty soap dispensers and a non-functional Nespresso machine. These minor inconveniences aside, the suite was a standout feature of the stay.

Unfortunately, the breakfast experience did not live up to the hotel's four-star reputation. The food quality was disappointing, with cardboard-like bacon, burnt sausages, and soggy, undercooked pastries. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, with only six diners, it took almost 20 minutes to serve poached eggs.

There was no cold continental selection, the coffee machines only dispensed weak, watery coffee with no milk, and there wasn’t even bread available for toast. The waitress, though polite and trying her best, seemed overwhelmed despite the minimal number of guests.

While the room was lovely and well-appointed, the breakfast experience fell short of expectations for a four-star establishment. With improvements to the dining service, the hotel could provide a much more consistent and enjoyable stay.

Great stop. High price drinks
Pros:

Clean tidy and very polite woman on reception. Only negative was extortionate costs for a point of beer at £6.90. Definitely over priced on drink. Suggest buying drinks from local supermarket and keep in the fridge

Pros:

This hotel is within easy access to Newcastle city centre and has plenty of parking. The breakfast was convenient in that it stopped us having to stop elsewhere but was fairly underwhelming.

Was ok last vtime, not so good this time
Pros:

Gym/Pool shut at 8pm, so missed out on that.
Reception was specifically asked for a room close to reception with minimum walking. Was allocated the furthest room from reception. Communication breakdown.
Reception also asked when food stopped being served, was told 11pm. This was wrong, so couldn't get any dinner, disappointing.
Room has very noisy fridge.
