Beautiful area. Beautiful views and rooms were new and clean.
We were disappointed to discover the access to the pool and spa was an additional fee of $35 per person per day. This was not transparently communicated to us so we did not get to utilize the pool/spa .
Looks like a PNW National Park lodge. Bed was nice.
Limited nearby dining options, none in the building itself. Taking a shower is hazardous as you climb over a tall tub wall only to step onto a floor that gets slippery with any water. You can’t pivot over the edge due to the shower door.
a verbal reminder at check in of all the services, we could use at the club during our stay.
even if we do have to pay extra
The shower jacuzzi bath tub was way too big to get into if you’re 5 foot or shorter it is dangerous and I could’ve slipped at any time.
I loved the walking paths thru the property & Creekside. Bikes available to ride to beach were a plus. Loved having a market very close to order meals, coffee & even enjoy entertainment on special notes.
Internet was spotty in our room. Coffee at property was terrible.
Beautiful room with great location. Staff was friendly and eager to help.
I loved the borrow bikes! And the 24 hr tea/ coffee was amazing, as was the cozy lobby to congregate with our party. We also loved the fireplaces in the room! The bathrooms were HUGE and dreamy!
The rooms were just a little musty smelling. But not a deal breaker.
I loved how close it was to our venue, perfect spot to plan a stay-cation as well!
Good room, nice staff
Nothing
Very beautiful room w/ nice comfortable bed and chairs. Lovely bathroom as well.
Unfortunately, there were no meal provided or pool/spas available. For the price, I would have thought there would have been something for our stay. Very nice place and loved the location.

We stayed in the Grand Escape Room. Room 113 on the first floor. This was our first visit and we came for our anniversary. They room is not as advertised, The vaulted ceiling living room is on the second floor. If this is importantly to you, ask for the 2nd floor. The living room only has lighting on one side. A free standing lamp on the other side would really help. This room is absolutely not maintained. There is a chair with the springs falling out of the bottom and it’s all sunken on one side. Uncomfortable to sit in. There appears to be significant water damage to all of the door frames in the bathroom. The shower is not well maintained at all. See the photos, so gross! I wore sandals in the shower. There’s a large tear in the chaise lounge in the living room. They took out the curtains in the living room and upgraded to blinds, which is great, except they left holes in the ceiling where they took out the whatever held up the curtains and just left curtain fabric strands hanging down. These could easily be cut off with scissors and cost nothing. Patch and paint is a basic task for hotel maintenance. There is layer upon layer of dust inside bathroom wall sconce. It just like they don’t care about their rooms. They describe themselves as an upscale inn, which may have been true if they cared about their rooms. For almost $400 for their nicest room, I would be embarrassed to hand a guest stay in this room. There are positives. The room is very spacious with a great view of nature and easy access to the Bob Jones Trail. They have complimentary bike for use and offer helmets and a bike lock. It’s short ride to the Avila Beach waterfront. The Ac unit works with a remote and is very quiet. The gas fireplaces both worked nicely. The spa on the patio was also great. The batboys very big with separate spaces for the toilet, bathtub and shower, and sink area. Each area can be compartmentalized with doors. We still enjoyed our stay. There location is very serene and away from the hustle and bustle from waterfront hotels. We would come back, but would stay in the wing in the Forest King Suite. These rooms haven’t had time to suffer from long term neglect. There no restaurant or breakfast at the hotel, but Woodstock Restaurant is just a. Short walk. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. We had breakfast there and it was very good. They take online orders. It’s also a short drive to many other restaurants.
