Hotel Solis

DO NOT STAY THERE please its awful, great location for Coliseum, plenty of restaurants all around, the one to the left of hotel is nice, as i said book another hotel we had 7 nights in room 107 awful, Jet 2 should drop this dump. Rome is great and the people, Enjoy 👍👍🛩️🍺🍺🍺

Breakfast is ok. The room is clean. Close to major places of interest.

After the last review I left for this hotel I was worried about what to expect. However I was pleasantly surprised, the location was perfect as was the safe. wh9 couldn't do enough for you.
The room was basic in the sense that it was an old vintage design, there were a few broken tiles and the shower head was loose but if you can deal with that then you're fine. No tea and coffee in the room, this was rectified as soon as I asked a member of staff, the beds were changed and made every day, fresh towels and we had a view. The breakfast was lovely, continental of course and again the staff were very friendly. I would have no problem staying here again. Hotels are for sleeping only so the fact that the staff were helpful and the beds and towels were fresh every day was a bonus.

Very dated and gloomy tiny room with very poor decoration and dangerous balcony looking onto rear of buildings. We never stepped out as it was crumbling.
Air-conditioning/ heater didn't work. Only 1 electric socket.
Breakfast was poor and unhygienic.
Only positive was it location.

It's very outdated, however the bed was clean and that's all we asked for. We only came back to sleep and shower ,the shower was hot and very powerful. The location is amazing,loads of restaurants nearby with the coliseum 4 minutes away.
The rooms have a hairdryer.

Terrible standard of rooms. Needs full removation not just TLC. Would avoid if you can. Wallpaper is so dated and drab. Decor awful, Stains all over the room, missing parts in showers, 1 plug in whole room, no refreshments facilities such as tea and coffee, TV you may as well have a magnifying glass to watch as its so small and no other channels but Italian. Tiny sheets on the bed that you end up freezing at night, Terrible smell throughout hotel, raw sewage and just genuinely murky and dingy. Breakfast ok, not much of a selection.

Only 2 positives about this hotel, the staff and the location. Staff genuinely lovely. Close proximity to the collesuem, lovely restaurants round about.

We had to end up leaving after one night to check into another hotel due to how bad this was, such a shame. I imagine this was a good hotel once, but needs serious love and attention to being this back to life, not just for guests but for the lovely staff too!

Don't . Room totally unacceptable Hot during day cold at night. Sheet too small and too thin for bed, 1 old blanket covering the sheet. Only 1 thin pillow each. No tea or coffee in room. Bedding smells of damp. Musty smell throughout hotel and room . Toilet roll sits on sink. no holder! TV does not have 1 English channel. View from window is a brick wall! This is more like a backpacker hostel.

Got to hotel, quick check in, E6 per day each in Tourist Tax in cash, you get a receipt, not down to hotel. The room was small, just get around double bed, 2 joined together. Mattress cheap/poor, Only 2 sockets worked not USB port, need 2 prong round travel plug and lead. TV only channels in Italian! Has aircon👍No room to put cases away,TV plug socket loose, bath room tiny, single shower but HOT👍 Cloth on walls, bed made each day and towels👍A Premier Inn bedroom and Hypnos mattress would be heaven😊 Breakfast low key not best, safe in room not bolted down also hairdryer in bathroom👍Plenty of restaurant's nearby/next door, Ideal location for Colosseum,get a cab from airport / train okay to Termini But metro/ Cavour lots of steps to climb with cases Rome was great though we were room 107 ,its up to you, Enjoy Rome😊😊😊

Hotel was in a Great position and had obviously been a very nice hotel once. Run down dirtyneeds decorating. miserable staff awful breakfast.
Believe they are selling up and won’t be there next year
Got told firmly breakfast only served until 9.30 at 9.20 on our first morning. No fresh milk Found a boiled egg but overcooked on day 2.

So convenient, our favorite hotel in Rome.

Location is excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Smelly- from the grime inside, not the street outside. Dirty walls, filthy light fittings and floors. Dark, no storage, missing skirting board. No iron or kettle as advertised, water in the bottom of the fridge. Lukewarm shower which also ran hot and cold. Obviously once a beautiful hotel which has been woefully neglected. Dirty bathroom. Rude woman at breakfast who told us to come earlier the next day- we arrived 20 minutes before the end, no fresh milk, cheese and ham not refrigerated. Cheap sweet packet bakery items.
Good location, clean bed and towels, lovely chap on reception on the first day, no-one there for the following two.
There are plenty of clean hotels in good locations offering much better value for money.

Friendly staff

This hotel is really lovely. It has a really rustic feel and so close to everything ! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pillows were so comfy and the rooms were very clean. We had room 110 which overlooked the street outside which was so nice especially of an evening when is was busy with all the lovely restaurants and the atmosphere. The hotel was always clean and the room was cleaned daily. I was so worried after seeing the reviews but it was mostly unfounded apart form a picture of the bath that was slightly discolored but this wasn't unclean it was the colour deterioration. The price is so good for what you get there was a safe in the room too. I would defiantly go again.

This charming hotel is just minutes away from the coliseum. I stayed on the 19th September with my son. The room was very spacious with two large beds. The bathroom was large and had plenty of towels. Breakfast was continental style with plenty of choice and fabulous coffee! All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Even though it is situated on a busy road, noise was not an issue. The windows kept all the noise out at night. This hotel is perfect for exploring Rome, with many cafés and restaurants on the same road.
Will definitely be staying again 😀

After reading some awful reviews I nearly changed my hotel so pleased I didn't. The location is amazing .collaseum few hundred yards away .within walking distance of everything .the staff are friendly and really helpful . Enjoyed breakfast .towels were changed everyday and room cleaned everyday.
I would definitely stay again .you get what you pay for .dont expect 5 star hotel for 3 star rates of pay . .

Central to all tourist things, Colloseum, Roman Forum, Pallatine Hill, Pantheon bit further away but walkable. Bed uncomfortable, there 11 nights, bed sheets were not changed at all, although the room was relatively clean, cleaners were in daily, carpets, walls and furniture are very tired - place is in need of a revamp. Daniela in the breakfast room was the best thing about this hotel. Great service and good food. Thank you Daniela. Rest of the staff were nice too.

Great location blocks from Colosseum. Staff are very friendly. Included breakfast not worth it with all the lovely restaurants within walking distance.
