Great property but impractical for a family of 4.

Great decor. Beautiful.

Cons:

Room was not as big as I expected. No place to store luggage or unpack luggage due to tatami floor.

Lovely place to stay. Convenient but not too close to mobs of tourists.
Pros:

Nice staff. Excellent restaurant for a special meal. Beautiful rooms. Soaking tubs in both our rooms were nice.

Pros:

Location was very good for seeing garden and museum. Cool and hip vibe.

Need more towels without asking - room has a sauna so that is obvious.

Clean rooms. Well appointed with coffee/tea/snacks and mini bar. Very relaxing. Restaurant was very good for dinner and traditional Japanese breakfast (NOT Western style if that is your hope) walkable to transit, convenience stores, restaurants and some traditional temple sites. Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend!

The Junei Hotel Kyoto is a serene gem, close to everything but peacefully tucked away. Our Deluxe King Room was a beautiful blend of tradition and comfort, with tatami floors, a spacious onsen-style bath, and lovely skincare. The staff were absolutely wonderful: warm, friendly, and so helpful. We did not want to leave, will come back for sure!
