Staff was super!
The room was not clean. There was mold in the shower and you could tell it had not been addressed in a while. Not what I would expect from Wyndham.
Very friendly personal; nice Swimmingpool;
At the breakfast Plastik cutlery and paper plate.
Breakfast was good. Location is great for all the friends and relatives we come to visit. And rate is always good!
I've booked stays for family members at this hotel many times over the years. This most recent stay in August 2026 was the last time. New management has totally ruined a once decent hotel and hired some of the nastiest employees I’ve ever encountered.
I booked a room for my daughter to do a final visit with her dying grandmother. She had two small children under 5. She checked in at 3 and by 6 pm the power was out. No backup generator or emergency lighting. Mind you it was 90 degrees outside. As night came, there were no lights in the room and to make matters worse one child slipped on a wet bathroom floor and hit their head on the floor causing a goose egg. We wanted ice for her head but the ice machines were not working.
Around 10 pm without any restoration time, my daughter wanted to leave. I spoke with the front desk, explained the situation, and requested reimbursement on my credit card to go to another hotel. I was informed at that time that reimbursement would be provided.
That reimbursement has not been issued.
Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact the manager by phone and in person, but have not received a response. He will not see me in person nor call me back. The staff has been extremely rude and when I told them that I’d leave a bad review they said they didn’t care. That’s pretty obvious all the way around.
The location was perfectly located near everything.
It was not clean and the pool was unsafe
Close to where we were going on our vacation. Restaurants nearby.
The staff checking me in was not aware of what she was doing. She charged my card and then credited it 4 times, telling me it was declined. This required me to contact my credit card and they told me that they approved it every time and that it was an error on the facility. We were then given our room keys and upon opening the door, it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke. She told us that there was a complaint about the room next door due to smoking. We requested another room. This room didn’t smell of smoke as it was on a lower floor, but the floor inside the room was very dirty. The air conditioning ran the entire time and was freezing then rather warm. The second night, upon entering the keys would not work. The same employee was there again and said that the keys needed to be activated again as she only set them for one night. The entire experience at the hotel was stressful and very disappointing for my family.
I have stayed at this hotel at least once a month for over 2 years, and unfortunately, since the new management took over, the quality and customer service have declined dramatically.
Last month, we got into the hot tub and within minutes our skin started burning—not from the heat, but from what appeared to be excessive chemicals. Our skin continued itching for the rest of the day. That alone should have been a major red flag.
This most recent stay was even worse. The power went out for several hours, and I was shocked to learn the hotel has no backup generator. When the power finally returned in the middle of the night, our air conditioner displayed an error code and wouldn't work. It took over an hour for someone to come fix it, and by the time it finally started cooling the room, it was 85 degrees inside. Needless to say, we got very little sleep.
Because I was exhausted, I didn't feel it was safe to make the drive home. I asked the front desk if I could keep my current room if I booked another night. I was told yes. Then, just 30 minutes later, at 10:45 a.m., there was a knock on my door telling me I had to be out by 11:00 and couldn't check back into a room until 3:00 p.m. When I asked for a refund, they refused, despite being the ones to say I'd be able to keep the room.
That left me and my dog to just hang out in the car, becauseits going to rain all day. I asked if, given everything that had happened, they could at least waive the pet fee as a small gesture of goodwill. The manager refused.
I understand that power outages happen and aren't always a hotel's fault. What is within management's control is how guests are treated afterward. There was no flexibility, no meaningful effort to make things right, and no appreciation for the loyalty of someone who has stayed here regularly for over 2 years.
The new management has completely ruined what used to be my go-to hotel in Parkersburg. It's disappointing to say, but after this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
