We really enjoyed our two-night stay at this hotel. Our son absolutely loved the pool.

Wow - where to begin? It starts with the check-in, the desk person was on his phone, kind of rude and very unhelpful. We went to the elevator and it is not working so we took the stairs. When we got to the room the TV was on, the remote did not work to turn off so we called the hotel - the room has no phone so we dialed the main number, no answer so we unplugged it. The patio door doesn't lock, in fact the locking mechanism is gone, but the bad ripped screen I am sure could keep any one out. The dock/beach has a sunken boat which give a nice shipwreck resort look.

We have been down to the keys and this area 6-8 times we have never had such a poor lodging experience. I am really disappointed in Wyndam, this can't be up to their standards. READ THE REVIEWS this hotel is 17 of 23. What scares me is there are six worse!

Location, on water is beautiful , next to awesome restaurant for dinner. We spent time sitting at their beach on chairs. Invested in this property bc it is beautiful

La situation

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hot tub was a nice way to relax in the evening. We enjoyed dinner and music at Snapper's next door, just a few steps away. While we didn't have time to use them, the hotel had kayaks and bikes for guests to check out.

We stayed in an oceanfront room that had a small balcony. It was beautiful, extremely comfortable, and clean. This was our second year staying at Dove Creek. We really enjoy that there is a small restaurant on the property. They had live music in the bar area, which was a bonus. We had 5 couples staying with us, and we all loved our rooms, and the views were beautiful!!
The breakfast is wonderful with lots of options. We all gathered around a large table and were able to enjoy coffee and breakfast. We will be back!!

Views and location

To start this is a hotel for a one-night stay only. The hotel pictures on the internet do not depict this hotel. it states it is updated it is not. The bed and bathroom clean but the carpet is disgusting. The pool has birds swimming in it and chicken poop on the pool area. Not an inviting area at all. Staff ok but not going above the bare minimum. The breakfast once brought out always late 8am was the usual toast bagel muffins yogurt cereal juice coffee and hard-boiled eggs. There is no staff between 7pm and 7am. One guest arriving late did not have towels in their room and called the number listed and never got a return call. As stated ok to stay for quick night sleep but definitely NOT A RESORT!

Decent size room, nice mattress. Sleep sofa wasn’t the best, but did the job. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Nice location too.
Lazaro was the best! Helpful and kind.
Loved the free kayaks and canoes.

The room and view were nice.

Hot tub, lovely property, covered parking

- Use of a jackhammer to break up concrete INSIDE the building from 10 am to 4 pm is unacceptable. (Same complaint goes back as far as Nov 2023, so it’s not a one-time problem.) The jackhammer use was directly across the hall from the room assigned. The front clerk had to step outside the building to talk to us. If you’re doing heavy construction all day, you should not assign rooms in the building.
- Like the previous reviews (same complaint going back as far as Sept 2021), Manager Andrea P. refused to return calls and texts from us, even though the front desk clerk said she had contacted the manager and asked her to call. Front desk clerk was particularly unhelpful and curt.
- Check-out was not better. Had to wait 15 mins to check out because nobody at the front desk. Finally found a cleaning staff member and had her call out for somebody to show up.
- “Ocean View” is not a view; it’s a chest-high window looking out at a concrete stairwell. One side of the window would not open at all. The other side was open upon check-in. I pushed to close it but it slammed down and would not reopen.
- Room smelled of mold, had to crank AC way down for two days to control musty smell. Probably why the window was left open. Hope you’re not allergic. AC remote control is in a foreign language. When we changed the temp up or down, the unit simply shut off and had to be turned on again each time.
- Turned the TV off at night and could not get back to any programming.
- “Resort” has 12 marked parking spaces and about 30 rooms. Plan to park and never move your car or be prepared for major frustration if you arrive after 6 pm.
- Bathroom door screeches loudly on opening and closing. Bathroom door does not close securely. Bath/Shower valve is not attached to the tub spout, simply placed into the spout.
- Photos show a nice sea-blue and white building. It’s actually a baby-poop yellow from the street side.
- Ran out of coffee two of the three mornings we tried.
- Wyndham Customer Care Team was not responsive to our calls; Wyndham Reservations Team was not responsive. Wyndham, you should be aghast at the quality of this place.
