Quite Ok for the money
Pros:

In general the hotel is OK, staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offers sufficient variety of food.

Cons:

Rooms are quite outdated and bathroom looked bad (silicone around shower becoming black etc.) even being renovated just few years ago.
In our room the wall next to the balcony had some mold on the surface, definitely not good.

Pros:

Le personnel était aimable, le cadre exceptionnel et l établissement bien situé.

Cons:

Pour nous, le matelas était trop dure, cependant il s'agit du seul gros reproche que l'on pourrait faire.
Si vous venez sur Madeire et souhaitez rester sur Funchal, ne prenez pas de véhicule de location. Une horreur pour se garer dans la ville...

O pequeno almoço era fantástico, com muita variedade. Os funcionários eram muito simpáticos. Tem parking disponível, mediante pagamento de 7€/diário.

Great value and lots of extra perks, but beware of the ants!
Pros:

We were a big group (10 people, 3 rooms) and honestly, for the price we paid, we got a lot.

The biggest surprise: free access to the indoor pool, gym, and rooftop at the sister hotel nearby. We used it three times.

Quite clean - housekeeping came every day, changing towels and sheets.

Breakfast was totally fine. They switched up the hot dishes daily, there was plenty of food to fill you up, and the coffee did the job.

Location is nice, just a short walk to the center.

One of our rooms was freshly renovated and looked awesome.

Cons:

ANTS. Avoid room 509 at all costs! We had a massive ant invasion on the ground floor. We told the reception, they supposedly sent cleaners, but it only got worse. The hotel was full so we had to sleep with the bugs for a night.

They moved us two floors up the next day, but we had to wait until 3 PM to get the keys. Even in the new room, we still saw a few ants.

The ant saga continued at breakfast... I made hot chocolate for my kids from the machine, and the cup was literally full of ants! To be fair, the staff reacted well and immediately cleaned both machines, but still – gross.

Booking a room here is a total lottery. Out of the rooms we got, one was modern and fresh. Another was old but had a cool ocean-view balcony. The others were old, dark, and buggy.

Parking costs extra (bummer).

Also, that sister hotel with the cool indoor pool? It’s a 500m walk, mostly up a steep hill.

Pros:

Simpatia da maior parte dos funcionários e limpeza e a piscina que estava limpa e sem cloro.

Cons:

Por gosto pessoal, não gostei dos colchões que são um bocado duros e da não uniformização dos uniformes de quem está no restaurante, sendo que o pessoal da cozinha e da limpeza estavam uniformizados.
