Great base for exploring Madeira
Pros:

The hotel provides an excellent base for exploring Funchal and the island. The location is a short distance from the centre but has its own amenities nearby, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. My room was comfortable and spacious, as was the hotel in general. The buffet breakfast provides very good choice with different options each day.

Cons:

Room decorations are fairly minimal - it would have been nice to have some pictures or posters on the walls. The kitchen area was small for such a big one-bedroom apartment. Whilst the hot food options at breakfast were very good, the food was not as warm as I expected.

Pros:

The hotel was well maintained and our apartment was really spacious. We loved having 2 balconies with sea views. The location was perfect for us with lots of restaurants and bars close by. We thought the breakfast was excellent, with a good choice and quality of food. The swimming pool and gardens were very well maintained.

Pros:

Their staff is extremely nice!
Breakfast buffet was good too and you can park for 7€/day, if needed.
We got a bigger apartment than we booked so that was great as we were travelling with a baby.
If you wish, they can change your towels plus bin bags and mop your floor every day.

Cons:

The apartment style was pretty old-fashioned. Windows don't seal very well so the wind was coming very noisely.
No air-conditioning, we had to move a small radiator around as it was cold for a baby to sleep or stay on the floor.
Kitchen didn't include any teas/sugar/salt/coffee.

Pros:

Hôtel qui bénéficie d’un bon emplacement géographique, beaucoup de restaurants à proximité et bonne situation pour sillonner l’île.
L’hôtel a un bon rapport qualité/prix, petit déjeuner bon et copieux. Mention spéciale à Marta et Elza pour leurs sourires et le monsieur de la réception ! ! Bon séjour dans l’ensemble

Cons:

La piscine intérieure de l’autre hôtel DORISOL MIMOSA dont nous avons accès devrait bénéficier d’un meilleur entretien ( manque d’hygiène, de propreté, tout le monde rentre avec leurs chaussures extérieures).

Very enjoyable stay
Pros:

Located about 25 mins walk from main town Funchal - entrance set in amongst group of shops - blink and youd miss it- large clean reception area - we enjoyed a very pleasant 10 nights - extended extra 2 due to plane cancellation due to high winds. The appartment room was clean - very well equipped - however like a lot of hotels these days - it was in need of a lick of paint- that said - this did not detract from an enjoyable stay. The breakfast offering on the 4th floor was excellent - hot and cold options available - we were down at 0730 and everything was available - the staff were extremely efficient in clearing tables and tidying up allowing a quick turnover. There was a constant refilling of items - particularly the cold buffet which was excellent - fresh fruits and breads- a delight. We had couple of evening meals priovided as a result of the delay - these were cooked to order - very pleasant - though options were understandably limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if visiting Funchal - would return.

Quite Ok for the money
Pros:

In general the hotel is OK, staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast offers sufficient variety of food.

Cons:

Rooms are quite outdated and bathroom looked bad (silicone around shower becoming black etc.) even being renovated just few years ago.
In our room the wall next to the balcony had some mold on the surface, definitely not good.
