Had a great time. The manager was really helpful and would definatly stay again. We have stayed twice now and always made to feel welcome.
Good location, excellent parking facilities room was basic but very clean, fantastic breakfast, and very nice staff.
Spotless hotel with friendly staff, a great breakfast and the added bonus of free wifi and parking. Great location for easy access to the City and docks. Bar prices are very reasonable. The bedroom was more than adequate with a view over the water. Bed was comfortable and there was a flat screen TV, hairdryer and coffee making facilities. The room was small, particularily the bathroom, but more than adequate and most importantly clean and well maintained. There were no distubances or noise for the whole of our stay. I wouldnt hesitate to return.
Lovely stay at the Dolby when we were down to exhibit at KidzToAdultz North at the Exhibition Centre. Perfect location within walking distance of the event and plenty restaurants in the vicinity. Hotel staff were extremely helpful, attentive and friendly.
Great location, food decent and great to have on site parking and staff friendly.
I would caution though if you have elderly or infirm persons in your party this may not be suitable - there are no lifts to upper floors, and - the rooms have a shower/ toilet cubicle in the corner of the room which requires a step up to get into - no handrails or ramps - fine if you’ve no mobility issues, but very challenging if you have. Unsure how this passes health and safety standards but that’s just my opinion.
Well priced and so much going for this hotel, except for the bathroom facilities which I thought were very poor in comparison.
We have stayed here a few times now the location and parking are both really good. We find all the staff very helpful and will be booking another stay.
Great location and lovely staff. Asked for a river view and got one. Rooms a little small but stayed for 18 nights and it was fine. Very clean, well maintained and quiet. Nice food and bar. Would definitely stay again, great value for money.
We stayed in room 224, which had a good view over the Mersey. The room was very basic and had one of those plastic type POD en-suite things like on a cruise ship! The shower was a bit hit and miss and if you are on the larger side would have difficulty as the shower curtain kept sticking to me and the water flooded everywhere. (I am 5ft 3 and not very big!) Other than that our room was well equipped with a standard hairdryer, kettle and tea and coffee supplies.
The location for this hotel is fantastic, right near the Events Arena and the famous Docks, within walking distance of the city as well. Also, overlooking the river is beautiful -perfect location.
The welcoming reception area with marble floor and lovely restaurant at the rear is very attractive and smart. The rooms are basic as you would expect, but impeccably clean which is what you would want and the cleaner came every day to service the room so the standards are so high in this hotel, we really loved that. I had expected some noise level when I saw the complimentary earplugs, however I was pleasantly surprised that it was really quiet and peaceful, I had no trouble sleeping at all. Colleagues had actually moved from a nearby hotel on the docks to The Dolby (I'll not mention the name) because the noise were they were was horrific and they attended our conference shattered! All the amenities you need were provided and was another welcome surprise, so there was shower-gel, shower cap and shampoo and tea and coffee making facilities - couldn't have asked for more really. Just one thing about the shower - FANTASTIC!! I am a bit of a 'shower-nerd' and love having a hot and powerful shower. This shower ticked the boxes, so I was really impressed. As with all the other reviewers, the bathroom was "compact" I would say it's about the size of a cruise ship ensuite, but everything worked perfectly and there were x3 mirrors in the room as well - lovely full-length mirror and another near a window. I really couldn't fault this hotel - the rooms are small and basic but provided all you need for a short trip and the value was phenomenal value for a weekend in a major city in the UK - what's not to love about this hotel!
Great hotel, we’ve stayed numerous times. This time we were with our grandchildren so booked 2 rooms next to each other.
Lovely rooms looking over the river.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
On the last day we booked breakfast, all you can eat for £11.75. There’s everything you could wish for: croissants, muffins, danish pastries, cereals, crumpets, then there’s the hot selection. Delicious food.
The car park is free.
Travelled from Australia to watch my beloved reds play . Had 3 nights at the Dolby . It was perfect for me . Location is great . It was very very clean and I’ve seen some negatives about the bathrooms and that may be the case but suited me just fine . Not that bad to mention really . Overall with breakfast aswell was great . Staff also were all friendly and accommodating and being my first time in Liverpool that makes a big difference. Special mention to Demi who kept me entertained whilst I was up in the middle of the night with jet lag . Gavin the manager was brilliant he also helped me out with a later checkout to accommodate my travel back home . Thanks guys . Would recommend and definitely be back
A two night trip with mates, visiting pubs, and seeing a gig. Great comfortable place to stay, not far from main attractions. Clean, good breakfast, and friendly staff.
Great selection of breakfast, cleaners are very good and rapid, shower temp in room 207 was either boiling hot or cold, but other that that it was great for the price
Nice hotel, ideal spot, friendly staff & good breakfast.
The only downside is if you are on the larger size you might struggle with the shower/bathroom as it’s quite small.
We also couldn’t turn on the heating .. it wasn’t a problem as not too cold.
Very good buffet breakfast.
Was a great location right on the dock with a fantastic view out over the water. Albert dock which is a very short walk was full of bars and restaurants. The room was extremely basic and the bathroom was just like a plastic pod from a caravan. Was fairly noisy, but the hotel do supply ear plugs. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They had all the basic amenities also. Room was clean enough also. We used booking.com which was cheapest. Was good value for money if you just want somewhere to sleep.
The hotel is in a good location. The atmosphere was great everyone were friendly, the rooms are lovely and clean we had a great night sleep. The rooms are well valued for what you receive. We had a lovely view over the lock. There is some noise from the traffic going past but that didn't bother us.
The amenities were spot on, you can help yourself to breakfast and there was a great selection for you to eat.
⭐️Absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. Friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, amusing, and charming!
✅Clean and comfortable room.
✅Walking distance to Albert Dock and the city centre.
✅Free parking.
✅Comfortable bar and restaurant area.
✅Everything you need for a city break.
✅ Keeping everything simply good.
Interesting en-suite set up. Fine if your 5’2” like me, more of a challenge if your 6’3” like my husband. However it all worked, was very clean, did what it needed to do.
Would definitely return if ever visiting Liverpool again.
Thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome.
We had a lovely stay for 2 nights. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. The only faults I had were as not enough plug sockets and bathroom was a little small but that was the only problems
Absolutely lovely hotel, rooms small and compact but do the job, extremely clean with a comfy bed very quiet no noise. The bathroom is petite but lots of hot water and fresh towels. The only down side to the room is the mirror could do with being lower so you can sit and do your hair/ make up rather than having to stand, we stayed for 3 nights and were surprised our room was made up daily which dosent usually happen in other hotels.
The staff team were friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
The lounge and dining area was comfortable with a lovely atmosphere.
Onto food the breakfast is amazing really fresh and hot with so much choice.
Free parking was an absolute bonus especially given the price
Outside the restaurant is a lovely seated area overlooking the docks
The hotel is a 15 minute walk away from the docks and Central entertainment
We loved it that much we've already booked for next August
We were lucky to stay in a room facing the docks and had a great view
Only bad aspect of the hotel is it as one of those horrible portable bathrooms stuck in the corner, not enough room.
