Adventure Inn

I have stayed at Adventure Inn several times and have referred family and friends to the hotel. Eric and his staff are great resources in helping visitors navigate a trip to Costa Rica. I recommend the hotel!

We stayed our first and last night in Costa Rica at Adventure Inn and it was perfect for this! Only 10 mins from San Juan Airport and they were super helpful and prompt in our communications, offered free shuttle to and from the airport and breakfast in the mornings - also had an on-site restaurant and pool/spa. Rooms were clean, central and safe. They also arranged a private shuttle for us to La Pavona the morning after we landed.

We loved our stay at Adventure in! The booking was easy (and even when I realized I made an error in my booking they helped me fix it no hassle!!) The staff were very friendly at the front desk, and the servers in the restaurant were friendly and helpful in answering our questions!! The food was delicious too. The breakfast that was included in the room fee was so good - the fruit, the coffee and the Tico and Tourist breakfast was so good! There is a shopping centre about 5 min walk with a super market and amazing cafe as well as souvenir shop a little bit farther so we had everything we needed very close by. We swam, we ate, we relaxed and we had a little mini holiday before having to head home. We can't say enough great things. We will be back!

My husband and I have stayed at the Adventure Inn each of the many times we have travelled to Costa Rica. It is the best! Communication with Eric, the owner, and his staff prior to and during our stay is at all times exemplary - prompt, informative, and very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. As always, we appreciated our spacious, spotless room with its unique art, the amenities such as the pool and hot tub, the free shuttles to and from the airport (which is just a 15-minute or so drive away), and the tasty meals available in the onsite Moon Glow restaurant - including the delicious complimentary breakfasts. Such yummy fruit! Added bonuses such as the ability to order food from an after-hours menu if you are arriving after the restaurant closes, and being able to ask for a "to-go" breakfast if you need to depart early demonstrate the high level of exceptional service that the hotel offers its guests.

We know that many travellers use the Adventure Inn as a place to stay for a single night when arriving and departing Costa Rica. However, for the past two years, my husband, friend and I have stayed there long enough to go on several of the available tours. We are so glad that we did this. They are great! A shout out to Jorge, who drove us to and from these experiences. He's the best!

We hope to return to Costa Rica again next year, and we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else when in the San José area.

I used to stay in the chain hotels by the airport and recently decided to give Adventure Inn a try. I will be staying here every chance I get when I'm in San Jose!!! This place is has beautiful rooms, wonderful people and a more cozy feel than the hampton in style hotels. The airport shuttle was free and easy to use and the restaurant had excellent dinner and a free breakfast. Highly recommend.

I arrived after midnight and only stayed a few hours resting and having breakfast before the next flight . The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and decent. It's nice to know that the tap water there is drinkable. The hotel location is convenient for a short rest between flights.

What a lovely 'adventure'! I stayed at Adventure Inn by myself and that is not something I do often. I felt comfortable in a lovely clean room with butterflies, a Pura Vida atmosphere! The staff were friendly and helpful. It has a cool bar and pool area. Being on the first floor, I thought there might be noise, but it was not an issue. I couldn't believe the full breakfast I was served along with tasty fruit and the best coffee! I highly recommend a stay at the Adventure Inn, Costa Rica; it checks all of the boxes for me!

Could not recommend more for either an arrival or depature of Costa Rica. It was a very authentic and vibrant stay. Great staff, great food, great amenities. Feels like an establishmnet that has been around awhile, but has maintained good upkeep. About 10 min from airport, but with free shuttle to/from it is a great location. We stayed at the Adventure Inn after landing in San Jose to rest before our drive to Uvita the next day. We stayed again 2 nights before coming back home, as we booked the Poas Volcano and Coffee Plantation tour (where we saw toucans on our last day :D). The hotel is very cozy and colourful - making you feel right at home in Costa Rica. They have a nice selection of books and board games to please all. The restaurant - albeit a bit pricey, was delicious and the staff very friendly. One waitress even remembered the names of my son's stuffed animals that he brought to lunch. The pool is clean and refreshing, the hot tub luxurious and inviting. Please, try the mango margarita! They have a channel guide in the room, but not all rooms have A/C. I highly recommend booking tours and renting a car through the Adventure Inn - they provided IMPECABLE services on all accounts. Thanks for a great stay!

I love this place ,I call it. home away from home . I started coming here in 2007 , I have been back 9 times. We always start our vacation here and end it here. Love the rooms and love there Restaurant.

Nice, reasonable "non-chain" hotel experience. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Free shuttle back and forth to airport was greatly appreciated.... and was only a 10-15 minute ride. Good restaurant on site with a nice breakfast included in room price. Decor was somewhat worn, but otherwise felt clean.

This was or 5th time staying at the Adventure Inn and Eric, the Moon Glow Restaurant and his staff were AWESOME as usual. Everyone is very accommodating to any of your needs. A great place to stay.

We loved our brief stay. The decor is unique and while it’s older, everything feels cozy, clean and like being invited into a family home. The staff is great as is the food at the onsite restaurant. All in all, we found it to be excellent value.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms are spacious. Rate is reasonable and includes a great breakfast! I recommend this place very highly!

My wife and l just returned to Idaho after our first trip to Costa Rica where we spent two weeks. Had a great time. We arrived and departed Costa Rica via San Jose. Always a little stressful visiting a foreign country for the first time. However staying at the Adventure Inn greatly reduced that stress. The staff at the Adventure Inn arranged our transportation from the airport to their hotel on arrival and to the airport from their hotel when we left Costa Rica. The staff also recommended that we have our rental car from Adobe delivered to their hotel the following morning and have Adobe pickup the car at their hotel the afternoon prior to the day we left. That was a real time saver and real convenience. The accomodations at the Adventure Inn were wonderful. Room was well furnished, super clean and very comfortable. The complementary breakfast was perfect, fresh fruit, choice of main course, wonderful pastries and of course great coffee. Nice pool area and attractive grounds. The welcome email they sent me prior to our stay was incredibly informative on cultural and practical aspects of Costa Rica, a must read. On our next trip to Costa Rica we will definitely use the Adventure Inn again!

We want a real "Costa Rica experience" so we love staying at Adventure Inn. All of the staff are so nice and helpful. We loved the breakfast....so many good choices. The coffee in the rooms is sooo good. The front desk helped us with a tour white water rafting, getting our shuttles to the airport and all of our questions. We have booked here 3 times now and will continue to do so.

This truly is the place to stay when flying in and out of SJO airport. Only 15 minutes from SJO. This was our 7th or 8th stay at Adventure Inn and, as always, it was terrific! The owner, Eric Robinson, provides a personal concierge-style service that is unmatched. The staff is wonderful (and the same year after year which tells you something) and the rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and have that Pura Vida Vibe. 🦋

The Moon Glow restaurant on site has wonderful food and drinks and the complimentary breakfast is delicious! The fresh fruit is a real treat. The lovely pool and hot tub are clean and never crowded.

One of the best advantages to staying here is they arrange for your rental car through their partnership with Solid car rental. The rates are very good and the car is delivered to you at the Inn, and that’s where you return it (they pick it up). I joined a Facebook “Costa Rican Travel Tips” group and countless people are posting really bad experiences with renting a car in Costa Rica. Never had an issue with that through Adventure Inn.
