Typisches Flughafen Hotel.
Betten waren bequem.
Essen in der Bar war gut.
Keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer.
Mit offenem Fenster schlafen war nicht so toll, da man natürlich den Fluglärm gehört hat.
overall the hotel was nice however our hotel wasnt cleaned properly
poo marks all over the toilet
the dirtiness
Lots of variety with food and everything was clean. We went down at 6.30 and fried eggs were not ready at the time the breakfast opened which was a shame.
A small personal preference, but I wasn’t keen on the taste of the sausage.
The reception staff were really helpful and friendly.
Walkable distance to Resort World, the arena and the NEC.
We booked a superior king room, but I've stayed in bigger and better equipped rooms for much less at Premier Inn. The room was small and the bed was average double size.
There was no bath mat to prevent you from slipping when climbing into or out of the bath.
The website states that there is air conditioning in the room, however there isn't, however you can upgrade to a room with an air cooling system. So you can pay extra for something the website says is already included in the room.
The safety brackets on the windows had been removed.
The entire first floor is incredibly creaky, which makes getting a good night's sleep almost impossible, as whenever anyone walks past your room, the floor creaks.
When we went down to breakfast, half the tables were occupied. Out of the other half, only 1 was clean. It seemed it was more important for staff to walk around offering tea and coffee than to clean tables.
The breakfast is expensive considering what is offered.
Great location, very reasonably priced, great staff.
The gym
Noisy, room was very dated and window broken
Good location for Birmingham Airport. Comfortable mattress.
Very tired decor in the hotel - felt like stepping back in time. Car park not big enough - I got the very last space.
Huge clump of hair found in the wardrobe.
It was close to the NEC for our conference. It's pleasant enough if you are looking for somewhere to sleep for the night, as long as it's not a hot day.
Like most staff in the hospitality sector they are relatively young. A few here and there seem to understand their role, however a number seemed utterly unable to fulfil their roles.
Two examples, during a meal in the restaurant, one of the meals was poor and I commented as such, the server seemed completely unable to cope with that situation. "Oh, I'll tell the chef", okay that is the response you expect, but literally just walked off to do something else. I was asked again at the end of the meal, the restaurant manager seemed better able to cope. Apologised, gave us a small discount. This is minor, but showed a lack of training or experience.
During breakfast we were told someone would come with hot drinks. Ten minutes later, I had to ask for coffee to be brought, to which one of the servers proceeded to server everyone else but our table, and I had to request again. The staff at breakfast seemed more interested in their own social lives than doing their jobs. I don't mind this, but make sure you are covering your job first.
We also had a meal from the bar menu. Both burgers, my partners was okay, mine was inedible.
The rooms are also very basic, no fridge, no air conditioning, rooms on the road side can be quite noisy, especially due to the lack of air conditioning in the summer
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, although pricey. Staff were friendly. Bed was probably the most comfortable I've had in a hotel
Breakfast was fair, but the service was not good - there was not enough staff for how busy it was on a Saturday morning. We waited 45 minutes before being offered a coffee. As it's buffet breakfast, I'd prefer to just have self serve coffee.
We had a family room. The room was very dated (the whole hotel is, but the room particularly clearly hasn't been redecorated since the 70s). Bathroom door stuck, and the kids (5 and 9) couldn't open or close it themselves. The shower (shower over bath) leaked so much the entire bathroom floor was a puddle. For a family room, the sink was so high that children can't reach, and the soap is attached to the wall, so again it cannot be reached. A 9 year old should be able to go to the toilet and wash their hands unassisted in a family room...
There is an air conditioning unit, but it doesn't work. There is only one window, which only opens a couple of inches and overlooks a courtyard. In 25 degree weather, the room was unbearably hot. I dread to think what it's like in 30+ degrees. In true British fashion, we do not like "the big light" being on. This room had so many lights, but there is no combination to have low lighting; either the whole room is bright, office lighting, or pitch black. Again, not conducive for a family room (kids going to sleep earlier).
If we'd paid for a standard room, I wouldn't complain about most of this. But we paid over £200 for a family room, £140 for dinner and £35 for breakfast. We had actually booked another hotel which cancelled on us due to overbooking, and so didn't have much choice in booking at the Arden. But I do not feel it's worth the expense, and wouldn't return.
Hôtel très bine équipé. petit déjeuné complet, restaurant très bien.
Café du petit déjeuné n'et pas bon, ( pas d'expresso, capuccino,...)
