Tradewinds Carmel

Outstanding stay at Tradewinds in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The location is ideal—close enough to walk to shops and restaurants, yet still quiet and relaxing.

Service was a clear standout. Breakfast delivered to the room each morning was a great touch, and the staff was consistently attentive and accommodating.

We booked a suite, and having a dedicated parking space made the experience even more convenient. Overall, a well-run property that delivers on both comfort and service.

A breakfast room would have been nice, but that omission was more than equalized by the sumptuous, delicious offerings that were delivered in a handsome basket to our room’s entry door. The central location is outstanding for and quiet, with nice views of the ocean from a number of rooms. The central, vegetated courtyard is very restful.

Customer service A+. Room A, very clean. Parking B, parking available onsite, but challenging to get in/out. Breakfast, A. Walkability, A+, walking to EVERYTHING you go to Carmel by the Sea for.

Just as lovely as last time. Private parking. Stunning gardens. Little nooks and a fire pit outside for chilly evenings. Basket breakfast brought to your room each morning. Lovely staff. East walk to restaurants. Very tranquil.

From the moment we got there, tradewinds and its excellent and super friendly staff made our stay lovely. Welcome cookies and iced tea, a personal walk to our room, an extra fan when it was an unusually hot day just to start. Beach towels on request, then prompting us to help us find a nice hike. And the adorable, delicious and healthy breakfasts were amazing! Overnight oats, fruit, the best tasty croissants, yogurt and granola, etc. the room was beautifully decorated and the property was lovely. Can’t wait to come back!!

Everything was very nice and welcoming - especially the breakfast and the garden.

The location is unbeatable as you were downtown walking distance to everything that Carmel-by-the-Sea has to offer. Customer service is five star. If I could give it six I would room is comfortable, simple incredibly clean beds are very comfortable as well. !

Beautiful zen ambience

We went for our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved our stay. It's close to downtown Carmel, the staff is excellent, and the room cozy and comfortable.

We were in town for one night for a concert and were looking for a hotel room in a walkable location so that we could explore town and get to the concert venue easily. Tradewinds was a perfect base for exploring town. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable and supportive mattress, luxurious pillows and towels, and gorgeous kimono style robes for lounging on our balcony. Our room had a soaking tub and fireplace. It was a hot night, so we sadly didn't use the fireplace, but wish we could have! The hotel staff was friendly and helpful: we arrived a bit early and they called us when our room was ready. We loved the breakfast basket, which had just enough food to fuel us for the day. We will definitely be back for a longer visit so we can enjoy their beautiful outdoor spaces and some of the amenities more!

Upon late arrival we learned not only that there was a saved space for us, but that it was a charger for our car. In morning we had another surprise, a breakfast basket of our choice.

Quaint boutique hotel with great views of the bay. Clean, spacious rooms were a great way to wind down for the day. Breakfast was good with several tasty options to choose from. If we are back in Carmel we will definitely stay here again.

Cute hotel with lots of greenery! The King room was spacious with cozy fireplace for cooler nights. About a 10 min walk to local restaurants and shops. Front desk staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Christine in particular made my stay just perfect! I was celebrating a birthday and she really went above and beyond to make it special and memorable. I appreciated the portable fan in the room for when I was getting ready and when it was a bit warmer. I would definitely stay here again.
