Beautiful room and ocean view in Carmel by the Sea.
Pros:

The “ocean front” view was outstanding, as was the delivered breakfast! The tub and separate shower was something you don’t frequently encounter. Having a parking space reserved for just our car was also very much appreciated!

Cons:

We were very disappointed that on our last night, the fire pit was not operational, presumably due to a very light rain earlier that morning. Since there had been a protective cover over the pit, it’s difficult to imagine how this could have been an issue.

We enjoyed our stay here
Pros:

The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with tropical plants, fountains and fire pits. I loved having breakfast delivered to our room.

Cons:

We did not have any hot water on Sunday and the tv was a bit small for the room. The location is further from the Main Street than we usually stay.

A great place to stay in Carmel
Pros:

We had planned a hiking trip and the weather interfered and it rained the whole 3 days . It was too late to cancel but the Tradewinds generously upgraded us to a suite which made all the difference. We were able to have a living area in addition to the bedroom and hanging out was made much more comfortable. The front desk folks were all lovely and checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. The continental breakfast delivered to our room was generous and had options . At most hotels we skip the continental breakfast in favor of going out, but this was more than sufficient. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well located to downtown but still quiet. We would definitely stay again and recommend to our friends.

Pros:

The property is very nice. The rooms are excellent. Very comfy beds and linens. Nicely equipped bathroom. The fireplace is a nice touch. Very close to the main walking Street which is super convenient.

Cons:

Check-in is at 4pm. We arrived at 3 and were told that there were no rooms ready to rent. I never ceases to amaze me how some hotels magically have all of their rooms simultaneously available at 4. I hate being treated as I'm stupid. Never a great start.

We had a very nice stay in Carmel and the Tradewinds was a good choice for accommodation.
Pros:

The room was warm and well sized. It included a breakfast which was delivered daily based on a choice of 3-4 items.

It is not terrible, but I expected much more for what I paid.
Pros:

The location is great, and the vibe of the hotel is nice. Breakfast brought to you in a basket is nice even though it is a very simple breakfast.

Cons:

Mattress was too soft. I felt like I was being swallowed by the bed. The pillows were too high. I did not sleep well at all. At 11 pm when I was already trying to fall asleep, the phone rang, and they asked me if I was complaining about the noise. No, I was not, I was just trying to fall asleep in that very uncomfortable bed. I knew beforehand that there would be no air conditioning, so I am not complaining about that, but it was much stuffier and warmer than I anticipated.
