The hotel has a great location and the continental breakfast had a good variety of options. The downstairs common areas are abundant and it was nice to spend time near the wood stoves after a long day at the ski trails.
The room was very spartan, there is nowhere to put anything. No desk, no chair, no hooks to deal with winter gear, we ended up with a lot of piles along the walls. The heater/thermostat have a mind of their own and would constantly overshoot the programmed temperature and make the room very hot, as a result we did not sleep very well. The shower has great hot water but a poor design with a fixed piece of glass that doesn't cover much or contain water very well at all. Anticipate a wet bathroom floor after your showers.
Clean nice hotel
No pool it was close
The location was awesome!
Nothing
The location was great as it was in downtown Lake Placid. They did put me on the top floor as requested which had a view of Mirror Lake.
The room was much smaller than expected. The website mentioned they offered "grab and go breakfast" -it did not exist and the staff admitted "they haven't been doing that". Then it should not be listed as the first amenity. Booking.com shows a picture of the indoor pool that I learned has been closed since COVID. The continental breakfast didn't start until 8 PM which is LATE for folks heading off to Ski or hike. Probably done on purpose to minimize usage. They are in an Olympic town during the Olympics and they did not offer a channel to watch the Olympics! I was told the new owners aren't "sports folks". The "sofa bed" was awkward to assemble and did not offer much comfort for our adult son. The room lacked spaces to put your stuff- no dressers, the cubicles were on the opposite side of the room from the bed so it didn't work with our son sharing the room with us. The rod to hang clothes was over the cubicles so you can't even hang your coat. The shower did not have a full door, so it was cold and splashed water on the floor. The "first come first serve" parking was no lie. The lot was a mess with too few spots and inadequate snow removal. The refrigerator barely kept cold and the hair drier kept shorting out an stopping. They did have a nice lobby, but didn't keep the fire stove stoked, even though I asked at the front desk. The only plus was the convenient location to downtown and the friendly housekeeping staff. I asked the housekeeping manager about the grab and go breakfast- he took my number and said someone would reach out= still waiting! LOL
The location is absolutely fabulous.
The breakfast was extremely basic. It was good don’t get me wrong, but there was not many good choices….. quick grab and go!
So close to everything! Just steps down the hill the lake is right in front of you with dog sled rides and the shops! Just few minutes walk to the Olympic buildings and Olympic Skating Oval!
Just a lil dirty on the stairs going up to room if you don't take the elevator which was veryyyy slow
Location excellent. Room was spacious
Parking lot was a cramped, frozen-over, mess. Rooms under- furnished. No TVs in common areas. No broadcast TV channels on in-room TV. To watch the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics on room TV I had to connect my YouTube account. To watch outside the room we had to go to a restaurant or the lounge in the hotel next door.
The location of the hotel was great and the room was clean.
The parking lot was awful. It was unplowed and flooded, and there wasn't nearly enough space to accommodate all guests. The receptionist was incompetent. He was telling people to park parallel to the building which in turn was blocking the actual hotel parking spots. It was comical how stupid the situation was. While I was checking in, directly behind him there was a car trying to back out of its space but couldn't because of a car parallel parked against the building. I kept telling him to turn around and look at why parking that way was a bad idea because no one could get out. He ignored it and again told me to park parallel to the building. He also suggested that I pay the hotel across the street for parking. Which was ridiculous and insulting considering I paid your hotel to stay there which includes parking. There was also a large group of children that were allowed to run the halls and yell for multiple hours into the night and no one addressed it until I stepped out and said something. Overall it was not a good experience.
The pool was out of order the entire stay and we chose this property/paid extra (comparing to other similar properties available) to have the pool during our stay. Also, the breakfast start time was 8am, which was very late for skiers as the mountain opens at 8am. Hence, we paid to have breakfast included but could not have it as the family skied.
The facilities were on point. The rooms so clean. The breakfast was amazing. The games all around the property and the fire room made our stay very comfortable and relaxed.
The pool was closed.
Parking was difficult
Close to Main St . The bar. The fireplaces and view from lobby.
Room 238 literally said lake view and it was all snow no view! No divider for privacy for beds in room. No pool access was never told!!! No restaurant or anything to eat in hotel had to order out and have delivered to bar!! Not to mention the ceiling was falling apart on our floor and buckets in hallway!!! No photos taken not worth the effort.
Location
Broken sofa bed, no pool( said it was not in service in 6 months) but still listed in their ads. Safety chain on door missing. Had to pay for parking across the street.
All went well
The hotel itself, the views, the room was nice and stylish
Location is excellent
The bed could be more comfortable. The breakfast selection was too limited.
Lake view, customer service, room size
Could have used more storage in room
