Beautiful Hotel, staff friendly and food was excellent. Different food choices every evening. The main pool was heated which was a plus for visiting in April.
Only being picky but would prefer a double bed but they could put a double sheet to keep the two single bed together.

Hotel Bitacora you did not disappoint. Went from 12th till the 19th April as a family of 4 , children aged 8 and 7 as all inclusive. Clean hotel, large rooms, lovely food. All branded drinks on all inclusive. Lovely big playground / football pitch for children, water slides. Facilities for adults: adult only pool, gym, spa and the fabulous Up area on the rooftop, although UP is extra. The hotel is perfectly placed , for evening strolls to watch the sunset over the Atlantic. We will be back ..we hope.
Great hotel for children, I wouldn’t suggest staying here if you don’t have kids as it’s very family orientated and kids always running around which we loved.
The football area was amazing and the kids club staff played some matches which my boys loved!
Evening singers were not great it would be nice to see some entertainment for kids/teens as my boys are too old for a mini disco.
Beds are hard and bedding wasn’t changed regularly and not much space to put your clothes so we lived out of suitcases for a week.
We will definitely stay again though as the slides and football combination my boys were very happy!
The good, the bad and the ugly!
Let’s start with the good….
Breakfasts are decent…. Lots of food on offer, full range and tons of choice. Takeaway cups to take a tea or coffee away too.
Weather was fab during our stay. Rooms are good - beds are OK, bathrooms are clean and there are clean towels daily.
You get a wrist band (for AI or Half board) which allows entry to the bedrooms which is a good idea too (saves the hassle of needing a card each time)
Great location - you’re a 5-10 minute walk from the beach, 1 minute from a local hyper Dino shop and various restaurants and bars. Evening meal was OK. Would definitely benefit from having a pizza counter!
Some nice shops locally in the town to mooch round too.
Fun team staff are good - we met William on our last day - he’s great and Rachel was lovely too.
The Bad - people are queuing at the pool gate by 8am for a sun lounger. I took a video one morning of people running to get a lounger. Which is madness! If anyone wants a lie in and a sun lounger - you’ve got no hope in school holiday weeks! The pool guy put a note on every sun bed that had a towel on it and no person at 9am most mornings but no1 took any notice of them!
The noise from the evening entertainment is loud! One night was Rock Night and at 10.45pm, 2 motorbikes revved up and left and then we had another hour of noisy music, singing on microphones, laughing and people talking below our room, plus screaming kids. It finally finished about 11.30/12. Not ideal if you have tired kids or want an earlier night! We’d been up since 4am the day we arrived so didn’t want to be kept awake until gone midnight! Over half the rooms are pool side which gets the noise from the entertainment. Then you can hear all the toilets flushing from the nearby rooms which started from 4/5am. Was hoping for decent nights sleep but sadly wasn’t to be.
There is technically only 1 pool for kids/ teens to swim in. The website says 6, but one is at the bottom of the slides, one is for babies, 2 are for adults only, 1 is for UP customers only which is on the roof and the main one for everyone also has the daily activities in and loud music 12-6 virtually every day (water bingo / aqua fit/ and the magic carpet, lilos and rings and balls - so it was busy!). My son was 13 and whilst I was being charged an adult price for him now to stay in the hotel, he wasn’t an adult when it comes to using the ‘adult pool’ which doesn’t seem right. Most days we sat round the adult pool and virtually every day we only saw 2 adults swim in it! My suggestion would be perhaps 13+ (which ties in with paying adult rate). When I queried this at reception, the guy wasn’t interested.
The ugly
It’s been 15+ years since I last came to Tenerife and I was shocked how run down it had become. Must have seen 2-3 homeless people begging on the walk out most evenings. I’d joined a couple of the local Facebook sites and read about numerous burglaries and thefts locally. One evening we walked past a nearby hotel and someone threw a glass off a high balcony narrowly missing a couple and baby underneath.
Oh and the WiFi in the rooms is rubbish! Better by the pool, but does drop out. Not easy as I had some work to do, and then found out on the last day that every room has a hidden WiFi but you need to ask at reception for the code!
Thankfully we literally wanted a place to chill, get some sun and relax which the week provided. I was one of the people sitting by the pool by 8.30am as I wanted a sun lounger! Some people reserved a lounger and went out for the morning. In fact one day at midday whilst waiting for the aqua bikes, I counted 16 out of the 56 front row loungers being sat on. The remaining 40 just had towels!
