IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OURTRIP IN TERMS OF HOTEL
the location is unique, with fab. views. the staff very polished,
we had cookies, grapes and a small bottle of tawny port waiting when we arrived at 5 pm and sipped peacefully on our terrace with 2 chairs and small table, overlooking Vieana..\\

dinner was very good... not excellent.. but chef came around and talked to us.... a must at least for a nite..

We had a very disappointing dinner experience. When asked how the pork was cooked the waiter did not recommend the pork ' because customers did not like it". He proceeded to recommend the hake. When it arrived it was very unpleasant smothered with hollandaise sause. It appeased that the waiter was instructed to sell the hake because a number of other guests were being served the same. Not nice to eat either. When my partner cammented on the prawns as being unpalatable they took them away and offered another portion which she said no to. Then they refused to serve us with the exeption of a young waiter whe was directed to deal with us. When the bill came the prawns were still on the bill! They subsequently took them off. Very limited meal options and terrible experience.

A Pousada tem, sem dúvida, uma localização privilegiada e uma vista magnífica, criando uma atmosfera especial e tranquila. A piscina é excelente, embora o acesso à mesma se faça pela lateral do edifício, passando por uma zona de serviço — o que quebra um pouco a experiência, especialmente num espaço com estas características.

O pequeno-almoço é bom e variado. No entanto, o atendimento da recepção ficou muito aquém do esperado, recepcionista nada simpática (uma menina jovem mas com pouco jeito para interagir com os clientes). Para um hotel onde pagámos 253€ por noite, esperávamos outro tipo de atenção ao detalhe: não fomos recebidos com uma taça de espumante e também não havia ninguém disponível para nos ajudar com as malas desde o carro até ao quarto, algo básico num serviço desta categoria.

No geral, o potencial da Pousada é grande, mas há aspectos importantes na experiência do cliente que precisam de ser revistos para corresponder ao nível e ao preço praticado.

Restaurant is goed, een meer wisselende menukaart zou de keuzes kunnen vergemakkelijken.
Ook het laadpunt voor EV is een pluspunt.

La Pousada está en un sitio privilegiado. Es un edificio con mucho encanto, pero se siente muy gastado. Le hace falta una reforma. El cuarto de baño es muy antiguo y las cañerías dan olor. Reservamos una habitación para tres adultos, pero la cama adicional era muy incómoda. Estando el hotel con muy baja ocupación, nos instalaron en una habitación sin vistas al océano. El desayuno y el servicio de limpieza bueno.
Tiene una relación calidad/precio mala.

It’s all about the location at the top of a mountain overlooking a jewel box of a church.
This grand hotel was built in the early 1900’s. It has been renovated but is definitely an older property. Room was comfortable and the view was AMAZING.
Breakfast was wonderful.

Hard to beat the views from this historic hotel. Perched on top the mountain overlooking the city of Viana do Castelo and the river below is breathtaking. Staff very helpful and professional. Rooms a bit dated but clean and comfortable. You may need to get creative to charge electronic devices as outlets are scarce. Nice breakfast with wide variety offered. Transport to town on the funicular is available during the day, ample parking at the hotel.

The hotel has the most beautiful views. We were given an upgrade and had a room overlooking both the sea and a the famous church which overlooks the city. At the same time we had a welcome gift of wine, heart biscuits, and grapes. The biscuits and grapes were replenished each day. The breakfast at the hotel was quality and in a beautiful room. This hotel is recommended. The staff are very kind

Is always about the view, wonderful. The service is excellent and staff friendly.

Hotel beautiful but decor a little tired. Still in good shape! 5 Star for the hotel, 10 out of 5 Star for the staff. They were outstanding and the off season rate was unbelievable. If we return to Portugal it is on our list for staying!!

Hotel maravilhoso e super bem localizado. Pena que o serviço, talvez pela época que fomos, deixou a desejar - Com exceção do moço do café da manhã, os funcionários me pareceram nos evitar. Não havia funcionários disponíveis parecia. O ar condicionado do quarto não funcionava.

We had a view of the cathedral - outstanding!

The view is obviously unique, we could spend hours looking at the view. The staff are always professional and very helpful. English spoken by all.
