Excellent stay!
Pros:

Booked for two nights and cannot say enough about the team that works there - well-managed by Peter, well-represented by Katie who could not do enough, and fantastic quick shuttle to airport.

Room was quiet and clean - no issues at all!

Book with confidence 😊

Completely Unforgivable
Pros:

I doubt that I can fully express the loathing I have for Hilton and this hotel in Dallas. Consider this:

1) We are a couple in our upper 70’s.
2) Dallas at the time of our travel was freezing cold.
3) We were flying to Dallas from Chicago, O’Hare.
4) The date of our stay was to be January 27/28.
5) We needed to awaken by 5:30 AM to get to the airport for our next flight.

After researching hotels in Dallas, this Hilton appeared to be very nice. So, on December 28th I booked a room and received an email confirmation. On January 26th, in a conversation with Hilton Honors, I also verbally confirmed our reservation and informed them that we would not arrive until after midnight. That same day, I received a request to select our room; we choose room 103.

Around 8:30 on the evening of January 27th, our flight got delayed, so I called the hotel and informed them we would be arriving well past midnight, “No problem sir, I made a note on your reservation.”

Our Uber got us to the hotel around 1:15. The clerk at the front desk saw us and immediately said, “We have no rooms!” I replied that she didn’t understand, as we had confirmed reservations, in fact, we are in room 103. She said, “No, we have NO rooms!” She said the hotel had overbooked and all rooms were taken. We were stranded during the winter, in a city we did not know, in the middle of the night.

I filed a complaint with Hilton which stated we would be contacted within three days. You guessed it - ¡Nada!

You are not a person to Hilton, you are a dollar bill! —- Be forewarned!

Airport Shuttle
Pros:

The hotel offers an airport shuttle however it is only one way. If park your car, stay the night then check out you can take the shuttle to the airport. However, when you return the hotel will not pick you up unless you have another reservation to stay upon your return.
There is no indication on their website, nor at the check-in desk you must have 2 room reservations if you use the airport shuttle and leave your car in their lot.
I have used the shuttle services at other Hilton properties staying the night before my flight without a problem. It was the first time I stayed at this particular Hilton Garden.

Imagine my surprise when I returned from my trip and the shuttle would not pick me up at the airport. Thank goodness another hotel shuttle driver was willing to take me to my car.

Hilton Garden Inn DFW South
Pros:

I stayed here for one night for a business trip and it was a great experience. The hotel felt clean, updated, and well cared for. Check in was quick, and my room was spotless and comfortable. The bathroom is on the smaller side but exactly what you’d expect for a quick-stay hotel and totally functional.

The lobby had a little store with sandwiches, drinks, snacks, and anything you might need for a work trip, which was really convenient. I didn’t use the shuttle or the restaurant, but the location itself is excellent. It was only a six minute drive to the DFW rental car return, which made my morning incredibly easy.

My only small critique is the $3 charge for an in-room room-temperature bottle of spring water. It’s not unique to this hotel but still feels a bit steep for something that’s usually under a dollar.

Overall, it was a clean, convenient, and reliable place to stay for business. I’d definitely stay again.

Free breakfast issue
Pros:

When we got this hotel we we’re informed that there would be free breakfast included, upon checking in, they told us that wasn’t the case and that breakfast cost $17 but that we could go to the sister hotel to eat free breakfast. So the morning after we went to the sister hotel(Tru by Hilton) and was greeted very rudely by the front desk worker. She then proceeded to act like she’s the CEO of Hilton and made it a mission to come all the way to the hotel we’re staying to complain. When we didn’t even make a big deal of the situation. This hotel need to take off free breakfast because that is simply not the case
