We have used a Hilton property a few times, north of DFW airport a few times, and it just went downhill a little more each time we stayed, and finally couldn't justify staying there another time, so we went to look for a new Hilton property near DFW and came across Hilton Garden Inn DFW Airport South, which looked like it could be the answer. Staying north of the airport is more convenient for us, but this looks like a better option.
It was for a one-night stay before we flew to New York, and we wanted airport transportation as well. The hotel offered that, but we needed a ride at 4:30 an and they started at 5 am, so sadly that didn't work out, but the Uber drive worked out well and was about $20.
Victoria met us at the front desk to check us in, and she was professional yet warm and funny. She was a nice way to be checked in.
Later at the front desk, I had some questions for Ms Foy, and she was professional and direct and a great help. Both had a smile and when working with others, I saw that same kind of friendliness and willingness to help. No rush, answering questions, professional but friendly not cold.
When we checked out in the wee morning hours Angelina was charming and great to work with. She as well worked with us smiling and professional.
The room was much more spacious than the previous hotel we used. It is clean, and it was more like a small apartment, so you have the option to have a very nice space in the property.
We had a meal at the hotel bar and a couple of drinks. While I honestly forget what we had, the prices didn't gouge, and the drinks were good. There is a Whataburger very close and a couple of food trucks in the gas station nearby. Not sure what else foodwise was close, but for an evening or two this is enough and so close.
There was a lot of outdoor seating at the hotel as well as generous seating inside the lobby and lounge.
Between the quality of the room, the friendly professionalism of the staff, the food options and proximity to the airport its our new location when we are flying in and out of DFW for our future travels.
Very clean, food cooks well
Games n activities
A friend and I had dinner there and Donny was a great host. She enjoyed the salmon salad and I liked the pepperoni flat bread. The restaurant is a great place to feast on a delicious meal in a relaxing environment.
This is an amazing hotel! Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful. They truly try to make you feel at home. Donnie in food service went out of his way to help me stay on my new WeightWatchers diet. Over a 4-day stay, I kept going back to the hotel restaurant not only for the good food but also for the incredibly good service Donnie provided. Iliana and Victoria at reception greeted me by name each time I left and returned to the hotel. I felt welcomed! The entire staff seems to reflect the truly caring and gracious attitude of the front desk manager Amelia. This the best hotel experience I've ever had, and I've traveled a lot over the years. Thank you, Donnie, Iliana, Victoria and Amelia!!
I loved the staff (Reine) and the setting overall. The rooms were very clean. I rented a spacious suite. I would come back again when at DFW.

Booked for two nights and cannot say enough about the team that works there - well-managed by Peter, well-represented by Katie who could not do enough, and fantastic quick shuttle to airport.
Room was quiet and clean - no issues at all!
Book with confidence 😊
I doubt that I can fully express the loathing I have for Hilton and this hotel in Dallas. Consider this:
1) We are a couple in our upper 70’s.
2) Dallas at the time of our travel was freezing cold.
3) We were flying to Dallas from Chicago, O’Hare.
4) The date of our stay was to be January 27/28.
5) We needed to awaken by 5:30 AM to get to the airport for our next flight.
After researching hotels in Dallas, this Hilton appeared to be very nice. So, on December 28th I booked a room and received an email confirmation. On January 26th, in a conversation with Hilton Honors, I also verbally confirmed our reservation and informed them that we would not arrive until after midnight. That same day, I received a request to select our room; we choose room 103.
Around 8:30 on the evening of January 27th, our flight got delayed, so I called the hotel and informed them we would be arriving well past midnight, “No problem sir, I made a note on your reservation.”
Our Uber got us to the hotel around 1:15. The clerk at the front desk saw us and immediately said, “We have no rooms!” I replied that she didn’t understand, as we had confirmed reservations, in fact, we are in room 103. She said, “No, we have NO rooms!” She said the hotel had overbooked and all rooms were taken. We were stranded during the winter, in a city we did not know, in the middle of the night.
I filed a complaint with Hilton which stated we would be contacted within three days. You guessed it - ¡Nada!
You are not a person to Hilton, you are a dollar bill! —- Be forewarned!
Breakfast was okay but noone told me it was not included and it was not worth the $10ish
Got to tell guests that breakfast is extra
The hotel offers an airport shuttle however it is only one way. If park your car, stay the night then check out you can take the shuttle to the airport. However, when you return the hotel will not pick you up unless you have another reservation to stay upon your return.
There is no indication on their website, nor at the check-in desk you must have 2 room reservations if you use the airport shuttle and leave your car in their lot.
I have used the shuttle services at other Hilton properties staying the night before my flight without a problem. It was the first time I stayed at this particular Hilton Garden.
Imagine my surprise when I returned from my trip and the shuttle would not pick me up at the airport. Thank goodness another hotel shuttle driver was willing to take me to my car.
I went to the Hilton for a cowboys game and woke up this morning with the nicest greeting from Norman. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and would come back here in a heartbeat!
