A lovely small hotel with large and comfortable rooms. Walkable to everywhere you’d want to go in Queenstown. A very friendly and helpful staff.
Be aware, however, of excess noise at night which makes getting to sleep before 12:45 AM nearly impossible. I think this is only a problem if your room is on the front side of the hotel (like ours, room 2). The World Bar, which is in the same alley as the hotel, is rowdy and goes late, at least on the Thursday and especially Friday nights we stayed here. Rooms on the back side of the hotel are probably fine. But it was a frustrating experience for me, especially given the price point for this otherwise excellent hotel.
Great hotel and terrific room
The restaurant is being renovated so they sent us to have breakfast at a different hotel. Would have liked to know that in advance and may have booked the room without breakfast
We visited Queenstown for two nights and stayed at the Spire hotel. We had an amazing time, the rooms were enormous and adjoining with our two boys. The views off the balconies are unbelievable. We had coffee and a wonderful breakfast each morning. Eli the bartender made the trip even more wonderful! Right in the middle of town perfect location!
We stayed here for 6 nights and it was sensational. The team were kind and professional and helped to make our stay so much fun. Set right in the middle of town within minutes of the lake, the hotel was super handy and close to restaurants, pubs and shopping. The room was luxurious with a bottle of nz Pinot waiting for us on arrival.
Nice
After many visits to Queenstown for skiing we took a last minute 7 night stay @ The Spire and WOW was it worth it!! 2 Adults plus 1 Child on a rollaway in a suite. The staff are so passionate and caring yet quiet and invisible most times making it feel like home. Daily breakfast was a highlight and the free mini bar included and topped up daily (pay for alcohol). The housekeeping is world class - felt like the room was turned over every time we left both morning and night. Deluxe towels and sheets and big screen TV & fireplace all made for a super relaxing holiday. I’ve read many reviews noting noise issues but we only ever heard some very early morning noise once and it stopped as soon as it started. Would stay again for staff, location, warmth and luxury vibes xo
Amazing hotel, excellent in every way
Maybe the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. Our suite was very large and extremely comfortable with fireplace, walk-in closets, and huge opulently appointed bath. The view was very fine, breakfast was superb, the location was excellent. Most of all, the staff were unfailingly attentive, responsive, and helpful, going well out of their way to make our visit to Queenstown as delightful as possible. Strongly recommended, without hesitation.
Everything is perfect, from the room to the service & staff attention
Delicious restaurant for dinner
Probably better to ask for a room overlooking the church ( which we had) not the street which can be noisy
A fantastic place to stay in Queenstown
We had an absolutely sensational stay at The Spire. The team was really friendly and helpful. Our stay had some fantastic inclusions including daily breakfast, pre-dinner drinks and canapés, mini bar and access to a local gym. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. We would highly recommend The Spire to anyone looking for quality accommodation in Queenstown. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
👍
Great location and Breakfast and the afternoon drinks and canapes was excellent.
Staff lovely and it was a pleasure to get back and put the feet up after exploring beautiful Queenstown.
The restaurant Tamarind is excellent and worth having a meal at.
Remarkable food, service, and staff! We absolutely adore this place and after terrible experiences and stays in Auckland a couple of weeks ago we've had our faith in kiwi hospitality restored by your team! We had a fantastic stay and elopement and the restaurant is phenomenal! We will definitely be back!
Great location, facilities and staff
Staff all very friendly and helpful
We had checked reviews and had e mailed hotel before arriving to say we concerned about reviews about noise
So when we arrived and had room right over the alley we were really concerned we were told the noise didn’t reach 2 nd floor and we could move later if we wanted! We didn’t want to unpack then move as only there 2 nights. We asked what was on other side and ended up in room 6 over looking church. Although you did get a slight hum from kitchen chimney it was like an air con sound so didn’t disturb sleep
Next morning as we were leaving our room another couple left their room over alley so had to ask about noise and they said it was noisy but their room was opposite the strip club!
Hotel is located in a pedestrian alley which hotel didn’t make us aware of so bit confusing driving round and round the block and couldn’t find it! You park in loading bay opposite novatel and very short walk to hotel
We were told we could have free pre dinner drinks between 5-6. We assume for the whole hour it wasn’t it was a single drink each! Would have been handy to know as one of us is a non drinker!
Room was nice bed big and soft the chairs wide apart and not that comfy and found the real fur cushion and blanket questionable - don’t care if it’s road kill
Staff do all push the restaurant
Great location for walking out to town
Lovely breakfast
Amazing rooms and in the centre of town. Staff were friendly and the drinks were excellent. Would definitely return. Rooms beautifully appointed. The bathroom and bath are also fantastic. The Tamarind bar was great and the team very knowledgeable.
The spire is ideally located close to restaurants, room was very spacious and well appointed. Comfortable bed and linens. shopping etc. check out Patagonia ice cream—great ice cream and unbelievable value. The staff were all very nice. Breakfast was very good but service is slow. We had booked the hotel restaurant—Tamarind #5 for dinner but our trip to Milford returned 30 min later than anticipated (7:45) and chef and kitchen staff left so we never got our “free dinner” that was included when we booked. Everything else was very good. They helped us arrange a private tour with a local driver. I would stay there again but be sure to eat early. Botswana Butchery is great steakhouse—good value. Queenstown should be on everyone’s bucket list—be sure to go to Milford Sound with Ashleigh in Altitude tour
Luxury stay in Queenstown. Fantastic location. Staff were great.
I travel a bit domestically with work staying at quality hotels, i must say The Spire hotel beats them all. I literally can't fault the hotel and its staff. The open fire place, the size of the room, large shower with a separate bathtub, even the bed, wow, the best nights sleep ever on the softest mattress I have ever experienced at a hotel. Without a doubt I will be coming back and staying at The Spire Hotel.
Sleek hotel, some rooms with balconies and fireplaces. Well stocked, fairly priced mini bar. Excellent staff, everyone was professional, helpful and knowledgable, a rare find in these times! Wonderful breakfast onsite and we also enjoyed the 8 course chefs menu at the onsite restaurant, No5 Church Lane. It was a memorable meal, the best we had in NZ. Bartender Jacob definitely went above and beyond as a server, as well. We will most definitely return to The Spire and highly recommend!
